This one pertains to me quite a bit as I am an atheist Jew. It's important to understand that Jewish isn't just a religion, it's also an ethnic and cultural background. I may not practice Judaism, but my ethnic background is Ashkenazi Jew. In that context, I can't disavow being Jewish any more than somebody can disavow being Italian.

That's more of an orthodox thing than a Kosher thing. Growing up, my family did observe kosher rules in the house, but as I got older, it became less of a thing and then it stopped being a thing altogether. That said, it was always just the rules as it pertains to diet. We were never the degree of religious that observes the Sabbath to the extent you mentioned.

I'm apathetic about Israel more than anything. To me, it's just another country, and like any other country there are good aspects and bad aspects, good people and bad. I don't really feel strongly about it one way or another. Feelings toward Israel vary widely among Jews, but my mentality is not uncommon by any means.

It really depends on who you ask. Jews generally fall into a handful of specific ethnic groups that pretty much exclusively consist of Jews, namely the Ashkenazi ethnicity. That said, if Ashkenazi is a race, then every ethnic group is a race.

It comes down to a lot of factors, really. For starters, there are undeniable truths like the prevalence of Jews in positions of cultural influence. Jews DO make up a staggering majority of media and news organizations, and they have very powerful lobbies that obviously (and reasonably) ruffle feathers. Beyond that, there is a certain amount of scapegoating, I'm sure. Jews are historically mysterious and keep to themselves, and when you couple that with a penchant for obtaining wealth and power (of which I personally have neither), it fosters suspicion.

1: I can't speak much toward iconography or origins thereof. I don't practice or observe Judaism, and only used that picture as an identifier.

2: Anybody who conspired to crucify Jesus has been dead for roughly 2000 years. I can't speak toward their motivations, or even the historical veracity of the claims.

3: I don't believe in the divinity of Jesus. I admire his message, but I believe he was likely just a guy (or an amalgam of several). As such, any condemnation of people who probably bear no actual connection to me doesn't real affect me.

4: I can't really speak to why Jews are so over-represented in certain industries. It's definitely a thing, but as for why, I couldn't say.

5: I'm the grandson of holocaust survivors, but I am not a holocaust survivor, just as black people in America aren't slaves. I think it's important to understand and teach historical context, but I also think that the people who hedge their identities on the struggles of their ancestors are full of shit.

6: I don't believe in hell, so it doesn't keep me up at night.

Man, I am not the guy to ask. Contrary to stereotype, I'm pretty shitty with money. I definitely don't have enough disposable income to reasonably invest at this point in my life, and even if I did, I'd have no idea where to start.

As for pretending to be Jewish, I suppose it depends on the context. For example, I think birthright trips (which I have never taken) require some kind of proof that you're of some degree of Jewish heritage, but I don't know what process they use to verify that. Beyond that, I don't imagine anybody in the community cares enough to doubt somebody's claimed Jewishness.

It's usually pretty difficult to "become Jewish" and very few people do it. Mostly, you're either born Jewish or you're not Jewish. There is a conversion process, but my understanding is that there are so many hoops to jump through that you have to REALLY want to do it. I think it depends on context. Black crime statistics and Jewish representation statistics are matters of fact. They can be ignored, but they can't be denied. The antisemitism isn't in pointing it out, it's in projecting those behaviors onto Jewish people as a whole and implicating them in the perceived crimes of a small handful of people. That is correct, but the Europeans in the new world made it real. It's a social fact that have social consequences. I live among my people in a European national state and our existence has been acknowledged by our neighbors since the early Middle Ages. Of course all those nations have vanished that gave up.

Roughly half of the Jewish population is non-religious altogether, and the remaining half varies from not particularly religious to Orthodox. as I understand it, the drop off in religiousness is a relatively modern thing (perhaps related to WW2), but for the most part, being Jewish in the modern world is more so about culture and community than it is about strict observance of doctrine. It's much harder to find a Jewish person who views scripture as literal indisputable truth than it is to find a Christian who does.
