I saw! I don't really follow the speedruns much because I never beat the game on my first playthrough, but that infinite jump looks really cool. I'm not sure if it saves any time compared to the stasis shenanigans already possible though.

That's understandable, but Breath of the Wild does it well. The base game was already hundreds of hours of content to fully explore, and the DLC added new challenges akin to the Savage Labyrinth in Wind Waker or Cave or Ordeals in Zelda. There's also a bunch of cool new equipment in hidden chests scattered around the world with quests to provide hints for their locations.
Lots of games have really shitty DLC though, and it really sucks that buying things on release is more and more of a sucker's game because of day one patches and the inevitable "Collector's Edition" rereleases with all the DLC. I bought Horizon Zero Dawn years ago and all the DLC came out and was repacked before I even opened the box. Ended up giving it to a friend and buying the complete edition for like $20.

No shame in that, but on the flip side treating the good DLC the same as the bad DLC just makes it less likely that they'll put in the effort.
I fully agree it's a shitty situation though. Lots of perverse incentives and games being sold at 60% so that the remaining 20%, 10%, and 10% can be sold later.
