Tell your friend to not try cheap products first. Get something comfy and fluff it a bit before wearing. Maybe refer to some taping advice. I don't see how anyone could find it uncomfortable done correctly. Enjoying use of it is different from person to person, so friend will just have to experiment on that.

Got any good taping advice? Mine are always too tight around the legs or too loose on the waist. Also the padding between the legs on all these AB diapers is so damn wide and folds up between my legs and is not cute.

Try holding your pee for as long as you can and peeing in the diaper before taping it on to weigh it down a little. As for tapes try taping it with your legs spread wide enough to to be comfortable when you tape it on. Onesie helps with taping a little loose for comfort so it doesn't fall off.

Keep your legs spread when putting it on. When I tape it up, I sort of move my hips forward and tape around the bone, and when I have both tapes done I raise my legs to see if they're getting squeezed too hard. Then I just do up the waist ones as tight as they'll get. Nothing wrong with needing to adjust the tapes.

Before putting it on, try folding the diaper in half down the middle, with the plastic facing outwards. When you put it on, it should bunch up into a more natural looking U shape instead of a weird W shape.
