DXM is an opioid without effects on pain reduction and does not act on the opioid receptors. When taken in large doses, DXM causes a depressant effect and sometimes a hallucinogenic effect, similar to PCP and ketamine.
So why is this shit so underrated other than the fact that it makes you sick at sone points? Its a great drug and really should be used on the same level as pcp and ket. If you're too poor for ket just get a ton of dxm and you will have good time. $1 at the dollar store for pure dxm. I used to do this stuff every day. Sometimes i would get a calming effect from it. Like if i took the right dose i was getting the dxm high, but it also had a very nice sedation to it. That was 350-400 mg for me, but with my tolerance up. If you get the extended release version you get an amazing afterglow effect the day after, this has always helped with any mental issues I've had. Scientists are comparing the anti-depressant effects to that of ketamine recently. And that's something that needs to be explored more because once in a while i use it for help with any mental issues I'm having and after I've come completely down i feel at peace and normal again. It's a hit or miss for me as with any type of hallucinogen/dissociative. Sometimes ill have an amazing trip with high doses and no nausea or vomiting and then there's times where ill take 250 and have the water shits and vomit. I've done lsd and dxm before, but to be honest the dxm makes your lsd less potent atleast from my subjective experience. I took 2 tabs and it felt like i took half of a tab. I used to take the gel caps with only the DXM in them (no other active ingredients). I would do this stuff all the time back in High School, back before I could find other drugs. One time I took two full bottles of gel caps (300mg each) and downed it with a bottle of the syrup (DXM only as well, no other active ingredients) which was either 200 or 300mg as well, It was pretty wild, I couldn't walk, it was full body jelly legs once it started to really amp up. I had never hit the the higher plateau before, it was either 3rd or 4th (i'm a little rusty on the terminology these days) I managed to make it back to my bed before I peaked, essentially I was crawling on the floor from my computer desk (every time I tried to stand I would fall back before taking 1 step). I heaved my body onto the bed and I laid across it sideways in the wrong orientation ( I was just happy to have made it to the bed) I think it was about 4 hours until I came out of it. And when I say come out of it I mean realizing what was even happening, I think I looked at the clock and remembered who I was and what was going on and fumbled around for the T.V. remote and put something on (still didn't dare to try and walk) the after effects lasted about a day, I wasn't back to normal for 2 days. All I can remember from the roughly 4 hours of the peak was this: You know how they say you have more the the normal 5 "senses" like the sense of motion is one, balance is another. Well my sense of size was slamming from one side of the spectrum to the other. It felt as though my body was growing to the size of a house and shrinking to the size of a penny every couple of seconds back and forth, big and small. It was not happening gently but it didn't feel violent, it felt like the sensation you get on a roller coaster only internally and in a different axis of motion, There was more but I'm hitting character limit

It was very airy, the speed it was happening was fast but it was not uncomfortable, it wasn't pleasureful either, it was just happening. If so, I've never bought dxm with acetaminophen because I always read the bottle first. I read a long time ago that you can be allergic to something in the DXM that triggers the itchy response but as far as I know I'm not allergic to anything and normal doses are just fine/don't make me itchy.

Scratching from liver poisoning is pretty much everywhere. My grandpa had it bad from years of Budweiser, and on his last few years he was covered with scratching scabs. If there's no acetaminophen, you're probably right about an allergic reaction although I imagine it's the food coloring
