Be me, a cashier at a gas station

>Be me, a cashier at a gas station.
>Local people have tabs they charge to.
>Having a good day.
>Kid comes in, grabs a .35 cent laffy taffy stick.
>"Charge to 71"
>kid doesn't even have .35 cents
>Areyoufuckingkidding.jpg
>Immediately want to strangle the little shit.
>Day ruined.

thats a brittle spirit op. guess we know why youre a cashier at a gas station

What kind of dumb faggot gas station opens tabs for redneck locals

the owner is actually a really smart guy. keeps people coming back. they usually pay out their tabs within a couple years. those that dont arent allowed back in teh store.

how do you even know this is in the south you fucking nigger this could be a store in canada for all you know you ignoramus

They rich and Crickers. They LOVE opening tabs in places.

I hate children.

well how do you expect to ever be a decent father if you cant even deal with some kid fucking charging some taffy to a tab?

>be me, working in a major video game retailer in the uk
>training to be a manager in a new branch
>finally get a chance to run the store for a day
>having super great morning, topping the regional targets for the day
>on with a girl who is new to the job, nice but anxious and nervous all the time
>show her her figures and the store figures, tell her we're doing great
>she's super excited and motivated
>actual manager goes for their break
>in walks this fucking clown
>wants to return a headset, ask him what's wrong with it and he says "it's just not working", won't give any more details
>I test it and I can't find anything wrong with it, tell him I can't give him a refund if we can't find a fault
>"Well i'm telling you there's a fault with it, so there's a fault with it."
>mfw
>spend the next fifteen minutes arguing with this guy as a queue builds up and my single member of staff has to deal with it
>she's already stressed out about this guy, and this is only making this worse
>go into the back room to get this guy a copy of our return's policy, while I do he takes the time to start shouting at my staff for fuck knows what reason, probably just because she was female
>kick him out of the store and he knocks over a stand on the way out, ends up being kicked out of the centre by security
>i'm seething
>girl is on the verge of tears, tell her to go and take a break to compose herself
>targets totally nuked for the day
>manager comes back from his break and sees the chaos
>"I'll just take over for the rest of the day user, we'll try this again next week."

I'm still angry. Makes me wonder if I even want to stay in retail for the extra money.

Lol whats the appeal of retail

I enjoy working for this company. Retail is going downhill and so is our company is particular, but i'm part of a great team and I have the figures and credentials to keep on it. I'm already climbing up the line faster than average, so i'm no hurry to go.

I'll either hang around until the entire video game market implodes for that sweet payout, or end up in a good position when we're the last video game retailer left standing. (Hopefully.)

Can't speak for that user but probably because of its general laid back easy money
user may or may not have any marketable skills and figures manager is more than minimum/starting so eh, I'll choose this

Why not just give him the refund

Was probably trying to impress a) his self b) the female and c) his boss so he could take over, get the good pay, get the bitch, and become a manager

I return his headset under a manufacturer fault. We send the headset back to the manufacturer. They test it and see there isn't actually a fault for it. We lose money, I get a smacked bum bum.

In the US all the policies go out the window and we usually have to listen to most of their demands unless it's too unreasonable. Enables more people to be assholes.

Bang on. Tried and failed at everything until I got into this company. It's competitive, i'm good at it and I get a commission. Assuming it all doesn't go pear shaped in the next year I stand to make more than I ever have, even though it isn't much.

GOy GOy GOy

There's plenty of times where we just ignore policies, but shit like this is much more serious these days. Physical video games are a dying market and we need to count the pennies where we can. There is next to no money in disks, accessories or hardware, so getting hit with a no-fault can really damage our totals for the week.

Greentext/what you mean by tried and failed at everything?
I'm interested in hearing about that
Ey man
We're all in this rat race just trying to get by you know?
Min definitely isn't going to pay the bills especially when Jack wants to play at least every once in a while

>be me assistant manager at Zumiez (skater clothing store)
>woman walks in wants refund
>ok
>buy 1 get one 1/2 off shoes
>wants return the 1/2 off shoes but wants a refund for the full original price
>lolwut
>no
>shes wants to talk to the manager
>i am the manager
>fuck out my store cunt

>flunked highschool despite being in good classes
>went to college and repeatedly fucked up the maths parts of my courses, wasted 3 years there
>only go accepted for uni because one of my lecturers let me cheat on my maths exam
>got accepted into a summer school program for chemical engineering, fucked it up
>still get in for pure chemistry, fucked that up too and dropped out
>all the while half heartedly applying for jobs and not getting anything, living at home and being a waste of space
>finally get this job a couple of years ago and it's great
>happy for the first time in my adult life

It kinda feels like i'm pouring my heart and soul into a job that won't last and has poor prospects, but fuck it. I'm good at what i'm doing and, for now at least, there's a place for me.

I've gotten that too. We always half deals on preowned multibuys and people really don't seem to get that they're always getting the cheapest item for free. Makes you wonder what is actually going through people's heads.
