Thoughts on a maximum wage? Would there be any downside?

FDR proposed one in the 40s. It pissed off the billionaires but they eventually compromised with a 94% income tax on the super wealthy (FDR and the voters who influenced him wanted 100%).

The US govt used this money to create the social security system we still use, rescuing millions from the poverty brought about from the recent Great Depression.

What does Yea Forums think about capping earnings of the super wealthy?

dumb idea. how are you going to enforce it?

Can't understand why this isn't in place already, as poorfags already vastly outnumber richfags. Isn't that how democracy works?

Govment has tank, billy gate does not

>94% income tax
The US were the real commies all along.

Same way you enforce minimum wage, but with maximum wage is even more easy.
The UK about 80 years ago had a maximum wage, so corporations paid maximum wage to the CEO's and then gave them a new car every year.

I think we'd see all our c-suite officers move to other countries and spend their wealth in their economies and not ours

they can get 2nd job, supplemental income etc

Oh also we'd lose their tax revenue which would be a disaster cause the they pay a massively disproportionate amount of tax dollars

Wage floors and wage ceilings fuck up supply and demand
