It seems to me, that in order to cheat on your girlfriend, you would have to be willing to ignore the faith she's put in you. It is about giving someone the benefit of the doubt, believing the best about them, and letting them out of your sight without worry that they will betray you.

If someone gives you trust, are they able to keep it in good faith? Are you one to value the faith others put in you, that you're a person who can be relied upon, and that even when you can get away with betraying the ones who love you, you choose rather to remain faithful?

If you value the confidence people put into your character, I believe you wouldn't want to cheat on her, but if the faith people invest in you, holds no value to you, then you could cheat on her, and be yet unharmed.
