Why do people like Star Wars so much? And no I am not trolling I'm dead serious. I watched the first two movies and I was bored to shit halfway through. I couldn't even finish the third one. Is it just group think at this point?

Which first two movies?

The first two movies in the series retard

Which first two movies, episode 1&2 or 4&5?
Honestly, if you’re a youngfag, it’s a normal attitude. All the teens in my family fucking detest Star Wars.
Our days are gone, the first trilogy was awesome and culturally defining. But that time is gone now, like tears in the rain. This isn’t a world for oldfags anymore.

In part it is a matter of perspective related to when you saw them. A New Hope (Episode IV) was released in the late 70s and it was a different vision of the future. Nowadays we have amazing CGI and special effects but things really were different back then. The movies really were at the beginning of the effects revolution.

THE FIRST TWO MOVIES THAT CAME OUT WHAT THE FUCK

I actually enjoy the expanded universe more than the movies.

I dread the day they try to make a movie about the Old Republic because you know they will ruin it with woke writing.

Attached: Sith_extermination.jpg (4287x2202, 944K)

if you are just watching the original that came out in the 70s you are probably 13 or so and should be banned

In other words it's just group think. Thanks for letting me know.

the original 4,5, & 6 were awesome. the remade versions suck. all other versions suck. i'm 45, if that matters.

I'm a grown fucking man. Keep crying though I enjoy your tears.

They marketed Super Man The Movie with the tag line “You believe a man can fly”. People back then weren’t used to space battles and aliens and all the crazy shit that is common place nowadays. The movies were fantastic and captured people’s imaginations which is why they were popular.

Every generation has a book/movie/comic/event that defines them - this next generation will enjoy something we probably won't get.
It's okay, it's natural.

That’s not what I was saying. I was saying that it was different. People loved it because it showed them something amazingly different.

Also, they had a good mix of special and practical effects, instead of relying solely on cgi. Very few movies today even utilize practical effects anymore.

I wonder what that is though!? And that's a genuine question because I'm curious as to what defines this generation.

>I'm a grown fucking man.
Ah, finally some maturity in this...
>Keep crying though I enjoy your tears.
... I take that back.

But it's fucking gay and boring as shit. What do people like about it?

Your generation has a garbage attention span. If you don't see Deadpool grabbing his nutsack within the first 15 minutes you think the movie is garbage.

You wouldn't last through half of 2001: A space odyssey let alone a Godfather marathon.

Attached: Screenshot_20190707-160953_Chrome.jpg (1080x947, 118K)

What didn’t you like about them? What made it seem boring? Those two are my favourites. I could spend all day talking about everything I enjoyed about both movies!

I dunno man, ask the current generation?
Marvel movies maybe? (I enjoy those though)
Maybe it's not a movie, but a game...

That’s because there was almost no cgi back then. As computers became more powerful it became easier to have crazy cgi in them. The prequels succumbed to that impulse and had too much cgi.

I've never even watched deadpool and I'm not even sure why you brought that up. Are you gay by any chance?

If it didn't gel for you, then it didn't gel for you.
It's no biggie, taste differs.
What movies do you like? Which movie is the definitive movie?

I just didn't find it enjoyable and thought the story was faggy and boring

It wasn’t boring then. It’s boring now because you’re over stimulated with a thousand channels and porn on demand.

Totally wasn’t group think haha
It was mind blowing technology, sophisticated storytelling, compelling characters and visuals for the time.
Those last three words are important: for the time. Better movies and effects and characters and visuals have come out since then, but for the time, no movie had ever pushed so many boundaries in all of those aspects. Star Wars original trilogy was groundbreaking.

I like movies that are good. Next question.

But it was boring, extremely boring in fact.

2001 was a brilliant movie!
But then I am not this generation - so I do have an attention span.
I must say, the current generation doesn't lack attention span, I've seen them play some pretty complex computer/console games for hours on end at a tempo that made me dizzy.

I too thought I was all growed up when I was 19.

So basically people like it because they're "suppose" to like it? Yeah that's pretty gay man.

I'd answer, but I lost interest after Rogue one

>I like movies that are good. Next question.
I know you entertain this trollish persona for this thread, but I'm really interested in knowing what movie is the definitive one for you, the one that affected you the most.

You're free to like whatever you want. I'd enjoy hearing what you find exciting though. Maybe I'll find something that I've missed!

you dense faggot lmao

user, it's very simple. I like movies that are good and/or are not shit. You think that makes me a troll? What a pathetic faggot you are lol.

Okay, I'll ask someone else.

This generation, probably marvel.
Previous probably Harry Potter

I find actual good movies exciting

you gay faggot lmao

You should ask your boyfriend

Did your troll rocky thread fail, so now you’re trolling Star Wars?

Please tell us which ones those were since you know so much about the movies

There you go again bringing up faggy superhero movies. Why do you keep doing it?

That’s ok, old people are faggy and boring and so is all of their favourite things. I thought the same at your age. Wait till you get a job and start trying to understand politics! Here’s a tip: if a Jew is involved, or anything leftist, then they want to fuck over America, so vote for the other guy!
Wish I was your age again, are girls way more sluttier and kinkier now what with all the porn everywhere?

Abandon thread, op being a usual faggot

As a child I loved the hell out of it. It had everything - spaceships, lasers, people with mystic powers, lightsabers, a neat story, hot actors, etc.
And then it all fell apart when Disney put its hands on the franchise. Today it's almost a matter of laughing stock. Maybe it's still decent for kids with no huge expectations but the money-milking and politically correct agenda has tainted the series forever, at least in my book.

You have to remember, these films came out during our formative years, and so hold a very special meaning for us. It was the first special effects extravaganza, it was a blatant sci-fi flick in a time where such movies weren't thought to be bankable. So it was also new.
The moves young people watch today will have to hit that same spot, hit them during their formative years - which is why I asked OP, but he's too busy being troll to actually carry a conversation.

This is how trolls on Yea Forums are these days.
>thing you like is bad
>I have no reasons
>thing I like is good
>I have no examples

I can see Potter hitting that spot - that would make sense.

They are faggy, but facts are facts

Again, since you missed it, I am a grown fucking man. Still doesn't change that Star Wars is faggy and boring.

Nah dude, OP may be a troll, but the topic is a fun one. What pop-cultural thing hits people the deepest.

No, we like them because at the time they were released they were more groundbreaking and different than any other movie previously released. It was the first time a blockbuster trilogy had been tried. The whole concept from story to special effects ti world building blew everyone’s mind away because none of it had been done before. Try watching Return if the Jedi, I have a feeling you’ll prefer that one, there’s more action in it than the first two!

OP is massive faggot, and every single comment of his is pure trolling cuckery.

Could have been a good thread with actual discussion. As usual just a troll thread. Too bad.

Then don’t watch it and move on your life.

He's young, he's just trying to fit in.

Yeah but who gives a fuck about computers. The current generation hate Star Wars. There must be something fundamentally wrong with them.

The best is Rogue One.

You know how it is, the young Yea Forumstards arriving, all piss and vinegar - until they mature a bit and find that maybe a proper conversation isn't such a bad thing. Cut him some slack.

>People who don't like my faggy movies are trolls
Nope. Try again.

I am not wasting another second of my life watching that bullshit. It sucked ass.

>I dread the day they try to make a movie about the Old Republic

That's already decided to happen, the writers for GoT (TV-series, not G.R.R.M) will be doing the first two movies if I remember correctly

Attached: 1555861876811.png (1078x980, 872K)

I'm 27. I actually like ep 1,2,3. I thought thought 7 was ok and really enjoyed 8 and rogue 1. The originals made in the 70s/80s bore me to tears.

What are you gonna waste your life on watching then. You still haven’t provided an example, and I’m betting your not gonna this time either

ITT: Faggots who are going to be in their 70s still watching Star Wars in the theaters when all the males have been replaced with niggers and there's interracial sex every 10 minutes

Not really, they're just a product of a new time, it's different, but the same.
You can go back and see which movies have affected people through the ages - I remember my parents showing me the movies that shaped their mindset, and I was a bit bored.
You're really, really bad at the trolling, kiddo - but you did start a potentially fun thread. So thtat's okay.

people are stupid now. i go to a universery for physical therapy a professor tried getting a student to watch 4. she fell asleep when she got to jabba's palace/ in and out.

disney sucks at making a bunch of sequels to a movie that doesn't really need it.

Oh I know, just trying to point out to everyone that this is the current meta in troll technology. It got me good in another thread when user kept telling me nothing was fun and refused to explain what is fun. If someone wants to pretend to be miserable I'll gladly let them.

It's massively boring shit, too many characters, too many storylines, horribly cliche and predictable.

It was meant to be a kids action movie which is fine. But the fact that legions of grown adults take it seriously today is just sad.

Wait THAT'S the Star Wars thing they doing?!! EPIIIVaderNooooo.jpg

I'm pretty sure it's the same guy who made the thread about LOTR yesterday

I don't particularly like them, they were fine but I probably will never watch them again.
You on the other hand are full of faggotry and a jew-troll.

I bet OPs favorite movies are the divergent series

Heh, if that's what floats their boat.
It took a while for me to realise that it's a lot more enjoyable having fun, than trying to sabotage fun.
It's a process.

Or possibly the babadook

1977 was shit. All there was to do was smoke reg weed, listen to shitty music like Kiss, disco or peter frampton double live album. Star Wars is rather simple, but it was a game changer and literally the first meme movie. 70s kids were quoting it left and right. It was magical back then because times were dull as fuck. It's understandable if anyone watches it today and thinks it's clunky junk food cinema.

Attached: f15a3e42a627bf0293aea56005c09443.jpg (1079x1600, 306K)

The prequels are pretty enjoyable to me as well but I have no clue how you could like the sequels. Rogue one Is somewhere between the two.

OP probably thinks Dr. Who is a good show.

Those movies were fucking solid, what the fuck are you on about?

Well, that IS the cheapest troll - pick a band/movie/actor/writer/etc. and say they're shit to get a rise out of fans, then refuse to share your own taste and keep spewing the vitriol. Any kid can do it.

Because Snacks.

Attached: 1534949225996.png (348x362, 134K)

OI! Mate!
OP may be a faggot (he is) but don't you dare diss Doctor Who!

To each their own, OP

Hey. The current run WAS a good show. Until Moffatt quit.

Liberal Hollywood crap. The Empire are obviously supposed to be like the Americans or the European empires who are the bad guys.

And the Jedi are the mystical indigenous type people who live in the desert and the jungle and are the good guys resisting the American/European empire. Typical Hollywood tripe.

I liked the at-at battle on the beach, such an appropriate weapon for a swampy coastline

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I actually like Chibnall's run so far - I know it lacks the finesse of Moffat, but for fucksake, he's MOFFAT! A hard act to follow. I think Whittaker is dead charming and she does a good job - even delivering lines that's a bit hamfisted and a bit too PC at times. But it does remind me of 70's Who, especially the fifth doctor.

Don’t tell me he besmirched the fine reputation of Rocky? This kid is insane!

Jodie's great, companions are good, productions's pretty flawless but Chibnall forgot to write exciting stories. Just sjw monster of the week, without the lore and timey wimey stuff.

The special with the Daleks gave me new hope, but for some reason they have season gaps that last forever these days.

There’s another thread already about it. You can see it’s the same op

So how old are you if you are a grown man? When I think grown man I think of a guy in his very late 20’s and up, is that your age? Teenagers misunderstanding Star Wars I can understand but you were alive for the phantom menace hype so you know what Star Wars is and what it is not. Unless you’re overestimating how old other people think grown men are?
And how did you get to this age without watching Star Wars with your friends?

Any bets what OPs new thread he’s gonna make and bash? I’m gonna go with pic related.
>so dumb
>dude just runs around a desert
>always getting caught
>doesn’t even get his ark
I mean, what a stupid movie. I’m never wasting another second of my life watching this again.....

Attached: DFC2AB12-83DF-41B7-BB1D-55DC2519F0F0.jpg (315x445, 41K)

I did like the ghosts of the punjab thing, a bit of ugly British history I wasn't familiar with (I'm not english). And the heavy metal Dalek was cool.
I know, the production is a bit iffy with the large periods between seasons - we're spoiled with the shows that just pops 12 to 24 eps out season after season - and BBC can't quite match that.

Yay, my favourite writers! We know it’ll be shit so we won’t have to get emotionally invested only to be heartbroken when it turns out to be shit.

Wow.
We ended up in the wrong timeline, somebody do something!

it has something for everyone

“Barney learns to draw”
OP is a fucking preteen.

And my kid will be beating your childless ass well into your 50’s before your hip gives way due to too much communist marching.

Agreed. Wasn't all bad. Just heavy handed, a bit too sjw and without the time twists from past seasons. Oh, and that damn Pting CGI kid's show thing.

that makes no sense dude - don't sink to that level.

All I wanted was to see Luke rebuild the fucking Jedi Academy. That’s literally all Disney had to do to make me forgive any errors they make down the line. Old Luke being a Jedi mentor to a young apprentice. That was it. Not too much to ask surely.

Serious answer to your question but...really? Shit came out in the 70's, that was high entertainment back then. Does anything more need to be said?

Anyone who wasn't alive then likes it for nostolgiac reasons, myself included.

I agree with hamfisted PC themes - I mean, old Who did that too, but it wasn't as obvious.
Aw, I rather enjoyed the silliness of the Pting, I blame anime for having prepared me for the relentlessly cute. While it was a bit silly, I liked how the Doctor managed to share the responsibility with all aboard the ship, the old incarnations would have attempted to run the show and been a bit arrogant about it. Doctor Five would probably be fine though.

OP really likes to talk about how he's "a grown man". Must've just turned 18... I don't even like star wars but holy shit OP sounds like a massive fag and most likely not an adult

Stfu retard. You wrote wrong then because they were not The first movies they came after episod 4, 5 and 6. The first two movies suck, they are basically origin story for the "real movie" watch epsiode 4 instead and you'll most likely get it

Oh, how I enjoy the threads where some troll baits all the other Yea Forumstards.

I also enjoy the fact that a lot of itty bitty kids absolutely can't enjoy anthing that isn't made within the last ten years. Good luck in life.

Ok I wasn't alive then and apparently you're like some grandpa or something and lived it, but I don't see how it was shitty. Like sex without a condom was literally free, lsd was also common, Kiss was shitty but there was like pink floyd, black sabbath and other cool music. Muscle cars, disco and loose women, who could ask for more?

You missed the point completely. You'd fit right in with the Trump supporters over here.

I feel like we look back on the 70's fondly, but in reality, all that great music was hard to come by, no iTunes, no Spotify, no digitally remastered reissues, what difference would it have made if there was no way to listen to it?

I could totally see the 70s being a totally dull and boring time.

>there was no way to listen to it

Attached: 31523f93.gif (220x149, 222K)

Everything back then was faggy and cringe, hence why you have boomers today that are still obsessed with Shit Wars

Poor phrasing but you know what I mean. I explained it in the next sentence.

He fits in perfectly.

Just your repetitive use of the word faggy takes away any credibility you have for being a "grown man". You speak like a child and are not really giving any reasons for not liking it other then it being faggy.

This made me laugh

Why are you repeating yourself like a black girl? It's your opinion that it's faggy and boring and it's not the popular opinion but it's yours and I get that. Chanting over and over that you're a grown ass man. Do you have to type it a certain number of times to make it true?

Ever try to eat hairy bush, kid? Not fun.

Attached: DMoOvQKX0AAaiP4.jpg (742x1165, 76K)

To be fair politics are faggy too

Only the Jew influences in politics, the right wing is based when they ignore he Jew. The left wing is all Jewish policies ending up with communism, that is to be avoided unless you like starvation.

So Jews are faggy?

Liked it as a kid but rewatching through my teens and adults i never understood why i liked it at all

Life wasn't as shit in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Star Wars was fun and futuristic and made people hope for space travel in the future and adventure.

Attached: 1509836749585.jpg (480x475, 39K)

Yes, see this thread for info:

And this thread too:

guess which time is shit?

Disney owns the Star Wars franchise now.

Expect forced diversity and other SJW propaganda.

The new republic will be communist

Star Wars is faggy

>watched the first two movies
like, the ones from the seventies, or...?

Star Wars would still capture imaginations of people even if it came out today. There's no creativity left in this world user. It's all boring heartless narcissistic uninspired immature drivel. Art is dead

So you didn't like em. Others do.
It follows the classic epic hero storyline, of which there are movies that follow the same plot you probably do like. It's just a matter of is it set in a universe you are interested in with a protagonist you like.
All there is to it bruv. That's why you didn't like it and others do.

Just watched the original trilogy again in my home theater this week. The movies were meant to be seen on a big screen. They revolutionized how movies were made. Great technical qualities top to bottom (making a puppet like Yoda look and act real, getting all the space battles to be convincing). But the original trilogy was far more substantive storytelling than the prequels or sequels. It's not perfect--the dialogue can be clunky--but it is the kind of storytelling that is rarer and rarer these days--a combination of epic spectacle and something of substance.

Dune is much more based

youtu.be/JHGITJqMbO4

>Why do people like Star Wars so much?
Why do people like posting how much they don't like Star Wars?

I don't blame you for hating Episode 1 (Phantom Menace) and Episode 2 (Attack of the Clones). Nobody liked those movies when they came out, not even the people who were big fans of Star Wars when it first came out in the 70's.
Alot of confusion when people talk about "The first two movies" is whether you are talking about Episode 4 and 5 (A New Hope & The Empire Strikes Back) which were written in the 70's and the first Star Wars movies ever created.
Episode 1 & 2 (Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones) were made in the early 2000's, and were made as prequels to episodes 4, 5, and 6; also referred to as "The Original Trilogy" or "OT" because it came out before episodes 1, 2, and 3; which is dubbed "The Prequel Trilogy" or "PT". This confuses alot of people when talking about "The first star wars movies" because you could be referring to the movies that came out first or the movies that mark the beginning of the saga. You're not the first person to encounter this problem, so don't worry.
And nobody will blame you for thinking that Episodes 1-3 (the prequels) are garbage. It is universally agreed that the best movies are 4-6 (the originals) so just watch those.
And the Reason Star Wars is so iconic is because of the way the story was told, with a charming overtone that resembled the classical hero's journey and triumph over impossible odds. It's not perfect, but just watch it and you'll see what I mean.

Its simple.
Its bad.

Always have been kinda cringey.
The thing is, its cult.
And because of that you feel brilliant when you get the «joke»
But if you never had any interest in it,
Its just another dumb movie.

You know...took me 31 year to see a chucky movie, when i finaly did i understood why it was exatcly just the cheese i needed, i actually loved it.

>Storytelling is rarer and rarer
Is it though? Honest question. It's an epic. That same story has been told for thousands of years over and over. It shouldn't get old and it shouldn't stop being used, and yet, whenever I think of movies in my head that follow the classic tale structure, I can only think of movies from the 80s and 90s which is where the bulk of my favourite movies I grew up with are.
Did they stop using it? Or are we just missing it out if false perceived nostalgia?

Because it makes fags like you cry

Mostly childhood, you know it was cool back then. I used to be a huge SW fan when I was kid, over the years that faded away, nowdays I will still bother with a movie or a game (though not on release usually) but other than that I don't give a fuck.

>Everything I don't like is faggy

Is this a zoomer meme?

Well, to answer your question, Lucas and Spielberg in making the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films were drawing on earlier serialized shows from their childhood. Nostalgia plays a role. But I went to film school and am a writer, and I see the writing in movies today is getting worse. The best writing is in TV--no secret. But that's not an excuse for poorer writing. Losing sight of character development and story for spectacle and marketing, something the original films were accused of by contrarians--has truly set in the industry.

Idk. Star Wars is gay and has always been gay. Beats me user.

Did you watch the first two from the 70s (with Darth Vader) or the prequels from the 2000s (with Jar Jar Binks)?

I don't like Star Wars either, it is incredibly boring, but I just watched two Star Wars fanedits that were really good.

Pulp Empire:
>It's basically The Empire Strikes Back if Tarentino scored and edited it.

War of the Stars:
It's a grindhouse exploitation version of star wars, that relies more on deleted scenes and it has captions for R2D2, making him a ghetto sidekick.

Attached: SWgrindhouseThrowSM.jpg (504x800, 70K)

>I'm a writer and went to film school
Well fuck, I asked the right person then. Follow up question in that case.

I've heard the marvel movies for example which I'm not a huge fan of, are very tightly engineered. Down to when to do a flyover shot, when to place a joke. Like the entire sequence is 100% cookie cutter. The formula is supposedly designed to be as stimulating and engaging as possible, and they've just cracked the code of what would be mass appealing. Do you know anything about this? Is there much truth to it?

Magic is unchristian so inorder to use it they have to call it the force therefore the movie is a giant Satanic worship. It was suggested during a private sacrifice known as the Cremation of Care in the Bohemian Garden during the Solstice of which to worship Molech, the owl God that abducts children for sexual and cannibilistic intents, while bestowing good omen if the child is of 'preferred' requirement Moloch would deliver a more bountiful harvest or bestow riches upon the recipient. Moloch is considered one of the more powerful of PAGAN dieties that rival Satan and Lucifer, Belial and Midian and many others including Baphomet and Cthulu. As well as Azazel and Absolom. Even Adramalech who is a lesser demon that cultists also worship. The leader of the cult would often wear a ritual mask like a plague doctor or a goats horn mask and portray himself as Samuel or the Son of Sam in an antichristian ceremony they would Drink the blood of a virgin that was hand delivered by the collective initiates of the FreeMasonry who would opt their daughters PERIOD blood to be mixed with Milk and Sugar and served with a black cracker to recieve the Blessing of their Satanic Idol. They would also light a bonfire and jerk each other off while chanting Baa Ram Ewe in order to invoke the manifestation of Moloch around the bonfire. They would also light candles and walk around the woods while chanting 'Hrum Brum Master of the Dark and Keeper of My Tongue' after submitting an oath of secrecy and pledging a confession of their deepest pedofilic desires. Even if they were not pedofiles they would have to divulge information of how they would commit acts of pedofilia with bonus points on incest. Many people attended these rituals and even John Kerry and George Bush who were members of the Skull and bones society were personally selected to a VIP Sitting where they would discuss plans for managing the FreeMasons to even the Major Churches tax breaks which were often exploited to fund events.

I don't know specifically, but I wouldn't doubt it. I'm not a fan of the marvel movies either, but you have to do something right to make what, 23, 24 films that have all had general success. I have seen several of them and known something about several of the other films and have to say this: there is a general level of quality/craftsmanship to the films, but they are much more cookie cutter, as you say, than showing a unique vision. So it's possible they have an absolute formula, but at the very least they are not looking to break out of the box at all. Another problem I have with those films is the interconnected universe, so no individual film is as important--and that does limit the storytelling possibilities too.

Not the same user, but I am also a writer. To answer your question, there are tons of formulas that are taught in film schools. Literally every teacher has his own formulaic process, but since they are teaching instead of filmmaking, it is hard to trust their formulas. Although there are some things that need to happen on certain pages or no one will buy your screenplay, unless you are very well known.

>took me 31 year to see a Chucky movie,

Yeah but once you see young Andy Barclay in bondage you keep coming back over and over.

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 12K)

Thanks film bros.
Also its ironic how "I dunno but probably" is how I can tell I'm talking to an expert. Not pretending to know everything but you know enough and are confident enough to add it all up and extrapolate.
Just something amusing to me.

This is true, take formula with a grain of salt, but it is well known that George Lucas is a student of Joseph Campbell and Episode IV follows the heroic/mythic structure pretty much to a T. He just added enough elements to the visuals, aesthetics, etc. to make it unusual. Also, Episode V uses a completely different structure that goes deeper into the characters but is unconventional (the big battle is at the beginning of the movie, not the end), so you get examples from the first two films in where formula works and where to jettison it.

Yeah that came up in the first place, I'm aware of the classic tale structure.
The question was more are marvel movies made with like a real tight formula. Like start with battle, insert comic relief joke, reveal bad guy, flyover shot of nature, candid scene of hero at home with popular nostalgic song from a previous musical era in the background.

That kind of formula. Not the epic structure of regular boy down on his luck becomes a hero after a tragedy then saves the universe because he's actually a chosen one. That's a bit more loose.

I think it matters when you watched them too. I watched them as a kid and I can watch them now and it takes me back. I think marketing and the big money machine attached to Star Wars is what’s killed it.

Alright, OP, not bad trolling. Somewhat unoriginal to just go with "I dislike popular thing" but it got the job done.

Attached: 7585966860.jpg (1612x1270, 156K)

Do you mean the first two chronologically (The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones), or the first two ever released (A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back)?
I like the movies but I would honestly not be a big fan if it weren't for the Expanded Universe existing.

I'm really enjoying the new ones honestly.
1-3 were terrible, 4-6 were amazing, I was a lucasarts fag growing up, read the expanded universe books and everything. I really loved star wars. But I don't get the hate for the new ones. It's missing the star wars soul for sure, but they're a lot of fun I think.

I think a lot of the hate comes from changing the characters we know well, and then in some strategic places putting politics ahead of story. The prequels weren't good but didn't have any of the same cast. The sequels have the cast and characters we know, but a lot has changed. Luke, in particular, acts nothing like he did in the original trilogy. He goes from the ultimate optimist to a complete pessimist.

Well I mean... The character development needed work, but they did explain why he was so jaded.
Same time if he knew his damn religion so well he should have known there'd have to be a new sith, so that's bothersome. But still he had reason to feel shitty, rite?

Fucking this.

It's just that when he saw Vader, the most evil person in the galaxy (next to the emperor), he tried to convert him to the good side. When he sees evil in Ben, he wants to kill him. He should have seen the rise of the Sith, but it's a major inconsistency in character.

Yeah for all the talk of "balance to the force" he sure seemed to never understand that evil was a necessity.
Fucking Buddhists get that shit and they don't have spaceships. Come the fuck on Luke

yup. cognitive dissonance is still a thing.

some people enjoy movies.

Not wrong OP it's the most normie commercial trash of all time, it ripped off old samurai and western spaghetti movies ripped off the book Dune and the worst is that at first it was a total commercial failure they removed the movie from cinemas, they ask a japanese guy to fix the edit and made an aburdly obscene publicity campaign for the grand rerelease

I've never read a greater load of bullshit in my life.

>at first it was a total commercial failure
Why are you making up bullshit?

Han solo = cowboy
Jedi=Samurai
Tatoines =Dunes

Why does it trigger you that it was a total shitshow at first it's true you know look it up

bullshit

Just look it up man, look it up take the sweet red pill for once

Even if that's true what difference does it make?

Nice trolling. Star Wars (episode IV) was released on May 25, 1977, and was a hit. No re-edit by some Japanese guy and re-release, unless you mean after the massive success 20 years later. THX 1138 was a failure.

LOOK IT UP I SWEAR!

It opened in 43 theaters the first week, or about 1/100th of what a movie like Endgame opened in. Theaters didn't trust it. Then it blew up. So yea, it started out slow, but not because of low interest by movie watchers.

The only "red pill" here is that you're fucking retarded

I understand my dear comrade revisionist.
The goal is to make us doubt our memory and historical occurrences. Soon you will refute the moon landing, and promote a flat Earth all to destabilize the US economy.

Keep trying.

Is SW IV a great movie based solely on the movie alone? No. There are some editing, acting, and special effect miscues, there's no doubt. So, based on the movie alone it's not great. Here's why it's a great movie though, and why people love it. It's one of the very few movies that completely changed movie making, completely changed how and why people go to movies, and created box office phenomenons. It's maybe the greatest movie because it is probably the only movie that changed our culture and our way of looking at life. Space to everyone in that day was Armstrong walking on the moon. After that movie came out it was space ships, aliens, and adventure. So, yea, I can see why people watch it today and say, "this movie isn't that great. I don't see what the fuss is about." All I can say is that every super hero, science fiction, adventure, and action movie that you have ever watched came from that movie.

You stupid idiot

Dumb piece of shit

You okay there friend? You seem triggered

Those posts are from more than a half hour ago. Try to keep up. They are probably jacking off to cuck porn by now. You should do the same.

Half hour? Try 7 hours ago, newfag

Sand people = sand people

Well, he wasnt wrong. That's more than a half hour.

>It wasn't a great movie
>But it was

Lol what?

You aren't able to understand that concept, or don't understand the writing?

When watched today, the movie has flaws. There are many movies now that are more polished, and have better effects. However, the movie is great despite it's flaws because of what it paved the way for in other movies and what it did for modern culture.

I'm pretty much the same way although I do enjoy watching the movies some times. I feel like KOTOR starts out pretty slow and I always lose interest. Does it get better as it goes on? I wouldn't mind trying it out again and I actually found these at the goodwill a while back for Xbox but I'd say the PC versions are probably better. Which do you prefer?

But what is your decision criteria you absolute mongo
