This is my DNA.
AMA.
I was quite surprised that I had that much European in my blood. Doesn't really matter to me it's all the same honestly. Ya take genetics too serious.

Who.
Burned.
The.
Coal.
Genetics are just a compass to map heritage. Not surprising theirs European, manifest destiny and all that
Are any of your grandparents/great-grandparents former slaves?
It's a sad fact that many women were raped by the people they were enslaved by.
I'm not sure but I'm sure they probably were.
OP is a nigger.
/thread
nothing of interest
You paid money to have your DNA tested, stored, and sold to law enforcement agencies
Idiot.
never commited a crime so I have nothing to worry about
You're a nigger too.
ancestry from DNA tests relies on the size of the data set of other people who have taken the test with the company.
in other words, it's just comparing you to the other people that 23andme has in their database, and evaluating similarity.
if you take the test again, with some other company, you would get different results. often it's more accurate for white people in western countries, because they are the majority of those who have sent in DNA.
it's not so useful, because people have spread out of the countries they originally were from. a nigerian who moves to the US and gets an ancestry test can only be compared with people who share the same nigerian-originated DNA, which is to say not a ton of people.
its just DNA. you don't have to link it to you.
here's a social security number:
201-52-2112
without a name to match it, it's worthless. in the same way, if a DNA company doesn't know your name (and you don't give it to them, or any other sensitive data) then your DNA results are not useful to them.
Nice bait.
Rape baby
Fuck off nigger.
That's a pretty ignorant way to look at it.
except with all the data breaches, you can almost certainly get a name, and the number isn't random, i can look up the state you were born in and zip code you applied for the number in. SS randomization didn't start until 2011.
Don't read too much into it. It's random which half of the genes are passed on from each parent, so it's not a map of your ancestry just which genes of your ancestry survive. Also, those tests don't map the full genome, so they're a lot more subject to bias.
SSN 201-52-2112
Issuance Location Pennsylvania (PA)
First Year Issued 1974
Last Year Issued —
Estimated Age 49 to 61 years old
Valid? 201-52-2112 is a valid SSN
That's not how it works
i just made the number up. like just now. i even put too many numbers in the first time (3 in the middle), and Yea Forums blocked my post because it was like a phone number.
if you cover your tracks and are sufficiently careful, i'd say you can safely send them your DNA. obviously, most people just hand them their address and name and birthdate, but you don't have to and shouldn't provide them with real information. it has no bearing on the ability to sequence your DNA.
in the same way, i don't give my phone number or email to a store when they ask. i'm trying to buy groceries, i'm not giving them my number.
and did you also access your results over Tor with JS disabled, or some other anonymous access method, because otherwise they have the IP logged and LE could get your address from that
>Based whitecel
So it is true that niggers in America have 20% White blood in average. How disgusting
indeed. we need the anti-miscegenation laws back with the death penalty
i'm not interested in getting my DNA sequenced. the technology isn't advanced enough yet for the accuracy I would want, and the cost for a complete gene sequence is more than i want to pay for that service.
companies like 23andme only sequence a part of your genome. if i was going to go through the trouble, i'd like to have the entire thing done so i wouldn't have to do it ever again.
all that being said, you
>could
get your DNA sequenced totally anonymously, if you were careful enough. do you disagree with that statement?
i don't disagree technically, but it's beyond the ability of 99% of the population. it's like you can communicate so securely even the NSA/CIA/DIA won't get the plaintext even if they're directly targeting you, but unless you and the person you're talking to are security experts yourselves, and make zero mistakes, you're getting broken.
i can agree with that. the vast majority of people don't care, or wouldn't know how, or would fuck up the opsec.
however, i don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility for those who care about privacy. all that being said though, if your threat model includes government agencies, you probably wouldn't be all that worried about whether your grandparents came from italy or from spain originally.
>get your DNA sequenced totally anonymously, if you were careful enough
How?
How does everyone on Yea Forums calling you a nog make you feel?
Been on Yea Forums for 9 years as a shitposter. Nothing I mean NOTHING on this website does not upset me. I laugh at the hatred I get as a black man.
>you probably wouldn't be all that worried about whether your grandparents came from italy or from spain originally
the point is the LE has access to all consumer DNA services.
do you know how you obtain your DNA from a company?
you spit in a tube, put it in a prepaid envelope in a mailbox. you make an account on their website and link a code on the envelope to your account. they sequence the DNA and you read that data through the account you made, or download the raw data through that account.
so, again for the sake of argument, you could buy it with cash in a store, and mail it from some large population center where you do not live. you could make the account with a fake name and address and birthdate, all over tor.
i'm not saying it's necessarily practical or worth doing, but it is doable.
Congrats you're sane
The issue I see is other people. They don't do all that. Your extended family gets linked to you, data from other packages LE has bought is cross-checked. They know you.
They'd still be able to DNA trace it to you, no?
Also this:
Enjoy being instantly found as offender by police because of DNA database being compared to crime database. Enjoy jail, nigga
DNA is just a string of A's and T's and C's and G's.
it's not useful without a name attached. if (they) already have your DNA and a name matched to it, then getting it sequenced with a private company doesn't help (them) in any way.
the implication is that the government, your health insurance, whatever, doesn't already know what your genome is. if they do already know that, then all bets are off.
yeah, if enough of your family has been DNA sequenced, then a bad actor would be able to fairly easily figure out that you're related to them. it doesn't give them the answer, but it sure narrows the search down.
it's not quite that simple, because there is a lot of rearranging in regard to sperm and egg cell creation. this is why a sibling is not genetically identical to you. it's a lot easier to work backwards. like, if you have a set of kids and they both have their DNA sequenced, and you have yours done "anonymously", then a "bad actor" could fairly easily infer your anonymous DNA from theirs.
going forward is not strictly speaking as easy. this is also how ancestry works. it's easier to work backwards, because you already know what you're looking for. i'm simplifying a lot here, but i'm not deceiving you or cheating in the words i'm using.
shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet god fuckin bless the mf murica dawg
>surprised that I had that much European in my blood.
You and every other "POC"
Even if you think you're anonymous, they can use DNA to establish relationships. If anyone else in your immediate family gets sequenced, they can make a good guess at who you are. And it doesn't even matter if they do it now, or 20 years from now.
More than likely enough of your relatives have signed up for dna tests by now you're not anonymous no matter what you do.
