Personally had a situation where I stopped to let some people cross the road and one of these lowlives passed me at full speed and hit a little kid. This was in the centre of a village.

I was biking on a one way street against bike traffic in a bike lane with crazy amounts of space and parking spots I could go in to make the cyclists or drivers feel safer when a cyclist gives me the "wtf" look, after that I can totally see how people hate cyclists. There was absolutely nothing unsafe about what I was doing, I just broke his little world by doing that to where he had to be a dick about it.
I only did it because the road lead in to a two way bike lane and headed straight for my destination and I was short on time. People bike against traffic all the time on the highway. I also own a car, and I'm a gamer, I have a high degree of road sense. I even bike on the side walk to give motorists a less stressful and safer ride if there's no room on the road.
Im with you OP, they ride like jackass's around where I live. I get that they have the right to ride on the road, but some of them seem like they are just pushing fate. They ride on narrow windy back roads that are super busy in the morning. its like they dont care if they live or die. Is that part of the thrill?
I have zero problem with a cyclist in a bike lane where they are supposed to be. I have a huge problem when they put themselves in unsafe situations for their own amusement on roads they have no business being on. If I hit them not only is their life over mine is too. Or if I try to get around them on a two lane road and another vehicle is coming over a hill at that time I'm dead and they probably are too.
