that's great, your camera's doing great holding detail in the shadows there, tricky exposure. We used to have to calculate that with light meters but I'm sure your digital's doing it for you

a rule of thumb I was trained with in landscape...if the potential shot wouldn't be something you'd put on YOUR wall, don't bother getting your camera out. Mediocre is unacceptable.

Completely the opposite in professional photography- I started in portrait and product and on digital where the rule was always spend an extra 3 minutes in post than risk losing a great shot
