Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety

For me user my depression lead me to drink ( i dont know where your at or if you have an addiction) but in my situation its because i found alot in my life unacceptable to me and i took it to heart. I didnt realize in my teen years that a lot of this was beyond my control. I learned the hard way i cant save the world... I have to accept the things that i cannot change for i am not god. and i found people who i could connect with on a very deep level.
1. accept thhings you cannot change, the courage to change the things that you can and the wisdom to know the difference.
2. if your a male YOU NEED TO CONNECT WITH OTHER MALES I CANT THINK OF SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN HAVING A BROTHERHOOD!

Why are you terrified? no one will judge you there and if they do it shows how far they are into the program... not at all.... you cano go to aa and tell them the worse thing youve done and youll still be accepted
