Are there any mmorpgs that are pixel art similar to stardew valley?

Are there any mmorpgs that are pixel art similar to stardew valley?

Yes.

I can't find a thread to ask in /vg/ and Yea Forums is a cesspool.

sauce?

I like the look of the game and enjoyed playing it but I like online multiplayers.
Doesn't have to be a farm sim just similar art style.

Look into animal crossing.

It's pixelated but not to the extent of the art in Stardew Valley

Look up "Realm of the Mad God"

>ROTMG
This bad boy ate years out of my life...

That's pretty close to what I'm looking for.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Same boat, buddy. Heard of the upcoming Unity port? Finally fixing the spaghetti code.

Hail DECA Games

Octopath Traveler may be up your alley, but that's a single player RPG.
Aside from that I can't think of any actual retro graphic / pixel art Online RPGs.

Maybe something like Wakfu, if that'st still running. But it's been years since I dabbled in that, so my memory of it may be wrong.

>Octopath Traveler
I like how it looks but Dunkey said it wasn't worth the playthrough so I probably won't buy it.

Octopath was good, but it got too repetitive for me.

that and turn based combat outside of the old pokemons really doesn't do it for me.

Hmm, then Octo and Wakfu may not be right for you. With that I'm out of game suggestions, but not completely out of ideas.

Not really my realm of expertise, but maybe try looking for some graphic mod packs for other games, see if someone has made a retro / pixel pack that appeals to you.

I'll just start development I guess...

Kind of crazy that nintendo hasn't accomplished Earthbound Online....
I mean...
It's right there isn't it?

Attached: earthbound.png (1024x896, 90K)

Just use an earth map.
You start in the area you are irl.
Man that would be an awesome game.
They're scared of preditors and rude people so they'd never allow chat though.

That would be interesting, but with how bad Nintendo have been with any kind of online play this generation, I wouldn't hold out hopes.

>this generation
They'll never get online right.
They had better get with the times and start publishing games for PC.
I don't have cash for a switch and the emulators are catching up with them fast.
I'd gladly pay but they simply don't offer them and after buying a wii I think I'm done with their consoles, or anyone's console for that matter.

osrs

>this generation
Yeah, true.

Hopefully Microsoft focusing on cross platform releases (Xbox / PC) for their games will succeed and others will follow. Heck, even if Stadia isn't a broken POS on launch. Consoles have always been a slow burn to profit for companies, if they can skip them entirely and just lease out the games to anyone with an internet connection.

Stadia will fail. Within a year

>lease out the games
That's outdated too though.
Everything went Free2Play years ago.
I think they can still sell the games but no one likes double paying for the (insert system name)-network when it's just access to a bit of server and you already bought the fucking game.
Is wow pay to win now?
They are still free right?
Subscription services suck ass.
If the companies need money they need to continue to develope and make us want to buy optional dlc or new games and include server cost in the price of the game.

>Stadia isn't a broken POS on launch
it's going to be.
shooters won't work and fighters won't work so they had better have some slow paced strategy game that everyone will love.

Yeah, I'm not expecting much from it. Which is a shame, as it has the potential to shake up the gaming industry. It just won't when it launches, or anytime in the next few decades.
We'll see how much faith Google has in it all by how long they wait to pull the plug.

F2P works for a few of the big, hot titles that all the streamers are fellating for that month, but for every billion dollar F2P game like Fortnite you have so many failed Games as a Service rip-offs.
Subscriptions services aren't great, but also given how much the cost of creating a game has skyrocketed over the years companies don't feel safe unless they can suck in revenue after release anyway they can.
Of course. make a good game and you'll still profit (look at CDPR) without needing to tack on a subscription or GAAS model, but games haven't been made by gamers for gamers for a while now.

If any of that makes sense.
>I'm behind 7 beers.

>CDPR
I had no idea they were the ones behind cyberpunk 77.
I haven't played the witcher but I plan to.
I don't know much about development cost but it seems like there are a lot of great indie games that took time but only a couple devs.
I understand about the streamers and I do think they bring the games big bucks but gamers usually still support and are loyal to their favorite developers unlike the fans of streamers.

I like Wargroove, but I don't know if you're a fan of strategy rpgs.
It has a campaign but also offline arcade mode and multiplayer, but what really gets me is the level editor.
It's on sale on Steam rn, check it out maybe

>Wargroove
looks fun thanks

Warspear online, mobile game as well
Also darza's dominion

Goddamn, I loved playing that game

Hail deca!

>I haven't played the witcher but I plan to.

Witcher 3 isn't a perfect game, but the amount of content packed in the base game is pretty immense, and then the DLC packs released for it added in even more and at a fair price.
It's looking like Cyberpunk will follow the same way.

> it seems like there are a lot of great indie games that took time but only a couple devs

IMO indie games are one of the few saving graces in the gaming industry currently. But a lot of them are labors of love, done as a side project by the devs or coming with a possibility of ruining them financially. Whereas a big AAA producing company has the money make games, but they also need to meet investor demands and so need hit after hit, which is often why they just release the same thing that was popular the year before and the year before that.
Where an indie dev has the freedom to get creative, but rarely the resources to match production quality or time.

It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of fans started turning on their favourite devs. Just looked at Bioware and Anthem, or Bethesda and Fallout 76, even the "normie" sports games are throwing fans under the bus with unskipable advertisements. So many devs are turning to the quick buck and harming their fanbase in the process.

I was going to mention Fallout 76 but didn't know how to say it.
What you said is probably why E3 sucked so much and why sony didn't even bother showing up.
I didn't play fortnight and haven't been into shooters much since I suck and pretty much use to troll my way through halo.
But fortnight looked like a fad.
It's funny that we have to rely on rom hacks for good content when the aaa's hold the icons we love.
