Redpill me on global warming

Redpill me on global warming.
Some user on here once claimed he was a scientist and that in 2050, glaciers will melt and release massive amounts of methane that will kill us all. I'm scared as fuck. This is going to happen in my lifetime and I'm considering suicide before it all happens.

what are u scared about

That I'm going to die in a horrible way surrounded by mass panic and misery. That all that humanity achieved will just turn to nothing.

The planet is going to be destroyed unless some whizz kidz scientists invent some way to prevent that

so what you are saying is we are all going to die because earth farted?

I just think this can not be stopped by the people. This is in the hands of world leaders, they should enforce Co2 emission controls. But they do literally nothing. Why is that?

Well you were always going to die surrounded by misery...

I knew I shouldn't have posted this on Yea Forums. It's not like teenagers give a shit about anything at all.

???
You're a teenager

Why do you think so?

Because they are all invested in oil. Our entire infrastructure and economy is reliant on oil. If we stopped using oil, countries that do use oil would out perform us and take larger portions of the global market, threatening our power and safety.

why is that? because of ambition, they just dont care about the future becouse they will be dead anyways by the age they will have, so they just care about have a good time now, at this moment.

heres a idea, why post it here in the first place, why not make a social media post, or a meme to hope it goes viral, why not do more to help the planet, ffs go get a job selling solar panels. its government funded now that theres no cost to the home owners

why not DO something instead of sitting there complaining like a cuck about how you should just commit suicide cause your to much of a pussy to do anything about it. several men have changes the tide in life but you sir are not going to be them because instead of being smart enough to post this shit where people give a fuck you tend to make poor choices cause you're uneducated and uninformed. did you click on a bullshit article and believe everything it said? Do you believe in AOC bullshit? why not start studying it to help fix the issue if there is one, why not start making and or joining parties already made to help the enviroment. why not become a marketer or salesperson for clean energy. why not do ANYTHING else but post on fucking Yea Forums about shit that obviously no one cares about here. im sure theres other pages on Yea Forums you can post this on that people would give a shit.

have a nice day

You're obviously either retarded/autistic/manbaby or a young teen. Its your whinging and pathetic threatening to kill yourself that did it for me

So you prefer dying like everyone else in history? You can be one of the few people to witness the end of humanity. Isn't that awesome?

Nightly fap material

It’s not at all ambition it’s corporate greed, they would rather continue investing in old fashioned technology that is going to speed up global warming to make a buck, all the while refuting the 900+/900+ peer review articles that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that global warming is being alarmingly increased because of humans

That’s in like 30 years. A lot can happen during that time. I personally think that we’ll get really close to the point of no return but ultimately not fuck over earth. even the global warming denying retards will eventually see that we gotta do something.

This

Ty

looking for a slut? thank me later

Attached: 40a6e948de6f43ad88030df178a7dc39.png (432x768, 414K)

It's gonna be a bloody beautiful affair :D

Its literally our only hope that some genius scientist/s will figure something out. Its out of our hands

How do we circumvent this?
Is this why USA is so anal about controlling oil?

Even the most retarded mongoloid wouldn't want the death of billions. I don't think this is the case.

I literally have no clue what an individual can do about this. So what I'm living the Earth-friendly lifestyle if oil lords do infinitely higher damage than I can repair?

Because China and India produce 95% of global emissions and until they get their shit together, literally nothing the West does will make a damn bit of difference. Aside from turning both countries to glass

The entire thing is blown way out of proportion, all the “dooms day” scenarios are tenuous at best. Isn’t it odd that the individuals who are stating this is a doomsday are not acting like it?

And sure there’s going to be a shift in land available, and resource scarcity, things that have happened all the time throughout human history. Probably some proxy wars too and governments falling, but nothing we haven’t seen before.

Humanity will be fine.

newsbusters.org/blogs/scott-whitlock/2015/06/12/flashback-abcs-08-prediction-nyc-under-water-climate-change-june

your pill

Completely wrong and misinformed
The largest chunk is the 20+ combined ‘small emittors’
In truth it’s only about 15-20 countries that actually need to take some serious action in order to reverse the damage that’s been done so far

The scientists are the ones that are silenced because the corporations that are usually the largest political donors don’t want it being common knowledge amongst the voters so that’s they can continue making profit

The harsh reality is that these apocalyptic scenarios are quite literally the future or nothing changes

its not that they want the death of billions, its that they just dont care

Bullshit. Its all just a political power grab.

As if government can fix anything, much less something that would require China and India to stop manufacturing.

Profit comes first to these people and that’s the root of the problem

Climate gets warmer, then gets colder, then gets warmer again, etc., etc.

Attached: pistoletov.gif (480x270, 1.98M)

Once you have been around long enough, you start to realize that the climate disaster is always 10 to 15 years away.

It's all fake.

They are selling you something, an idea that the world will end so you better give us scientists a bunch of money or else!

Government comes first to the "hot earthers".
Notice that? What is the difference? Government can force you or arrest you and corporations can't.

What is more dangerous?

Yes, in a matter of millennia, or even more. What's happening here is that it's getting warmer in a matter of tens of years.

It’s really not
Take for example Australia; the not ‘big-business’ funded Labor provided a viable means of reducing Carbon emissions in the shape of a Carbon Tax, in the short time that it was active it not only reduced but exceeded the emissions target of the France summit.

Compare that to the ‘big-buisness’ Funded Liberals plan; Direct Action, which is a 2.2b prize for the company that comes up with the best plan for reducing Carbon emissions (that’s plan not actually doing it), and guess what those Carbon emissions are rising and have hit the highest amount ever

So not it’s not ‘just a political power grab’ it is quite literally the night and billions of dollars that the big businesses can throw at the citizens to trick them into thinking the Liberals are not malevolent

That's solely due to the fact that we're in the end times. Repent sinner.

Corporations can and do force you lol advertising is inherently progoganda for corporations to buy there shit thereby effectively forcing your hand

Suicide is always the best option

Dude is your fatass really complaining nobody is jumping around screaming because of some bullshit you randomly posted. No Shit go tell people that are relevant you retard.

Makes 0 sense, “the scientist” by “the corporations.” Most scientist don’t even work for corporations, they would have no way of “silencing” them, can’t force a non-employee into a nda,

There are plenty of scientific reports, and most of them say the same things, scarcity of water in places, more severe weather in places, scarcity of land in others. 99% will only affect poor and third world countries.

Probably healthier for the environment to cull some of humanity anyway, we’re over populated as is.

Carbon? As in carbon dioxide?
Ok take for example America; not the objective scientific community but the 3-judge and 4-judge panel that started to rule on lawsuits effectively making carbon illegal.

I was in science class in 5th grade. Carbon dioxide is used by plants to photosynthesize- effectively produce food so it can grow. Also, water vapor.

The earth is a giant self healing ecosystem. There is no agreement on what the actual temperature of the earth is supposed to be. It has been observed that a majority of the earth is under a cooling trend for the last 12 years, with some exceptions.

There is no proof that 'global warming' or now 'climate change' ends in disaster, except for some computer models shown to be blown way out of proportion to the observed weather facts.

What the fuck, are you some weak minded idiot? A tampon commercial comes on so you run out and buy them? Moron.

Global Warming isn't science, it's a religion. No debate allowed. Predictions don't come close to reality. Life will go on and fags need to find something else to bitch about. Here's a scientific fact, a concentration of 605 farts in a room will kill you. Tax Mexican food now to prevent this catastrophe.

you have no idea what you're talking about. You think your 5th grade level understanding of science is enough to say these computer models, which scientists have spent close to a decade in school plus who knows how many years developing them, are trash?

stay in your lane retard

Yes plants use CO2 but they can only collectively clear ‘x’ amount from the atmosphere per year anyway
Regardless of whether excess CO2 will be good for the plants, the plants won’t enjoy the lethal subsequent heat waves

>Corporations own the media
>Media dictates what people can see
>most people don’t seek independent evaluation of data, Facebook is enough for some people

My 5th grade classes included reading. Maybe you can do some here:
investors.com/politics/editorials/global-warming-computer-models-co2-emissions/

Unless more plants. There is cause and effect at work. The earth self heals in ways we see and don't really understand.

Anthropomorphic Global Warming is a nonsense plot by government "scientists" to enslave us all to the world governments, be far more afraid of these governments than climate change.

yeah, i'll believe what "investors dot com" has to say about computer models they don't understand instead of peer reviewed journals. Fuck off

The plants won’t be able to survive the resulting rise in global temperature...
Temperature increases of a modest 4-5 degrees C will render about 50% of Australia’s agricultural land completely useless, how can you refute that?

Too bad the peer reviewed journals (958/958) all agree conclusively that climate change is increasing exponentially by mankind

what about my post makes you think I don't think climate change is real/a problem caused by us?

You'll be fine for the most part unless you live in Shanghai or some other place that's gonna get submerged. It's gonna cause a massive economic disaster and a mass extinction but you'll live unless you're in the third world.
Also lmao @ anyone pretending this can be solved without a planned economy

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2420783/Worlds-climate-scientists-confess-Global-warming-just-QUARTER-thought--computers-got-effects-greenhouse-gases-wrong.html

Either way I don’t care about your beliefs because either you accept that’s its true of you are absolutely completely fundamentally and wholly wrong

Even if I lived in the fucking mountains I wouldn't be free from mass migration. This is going to fuck me over as well.

Those people have never cared and will never care about anything other than their daily life. Most of those type of people don’t vote and the ones that do are old. Not much lost by them not seeing anything.

the earth is going to solve the problem for us. We need a mass extinction to learn our lesson. We cannot breed without thought for the future. We can't rape the earth for profit.

The survivors of the upcoming disaster will need to teach these lessons to new generations, and guide human development more carefully. Hopefully they follow guidelines like the georgia guidestones. We don't need 7 billion people. a number like 500 million worldwide is much more reasonable.

Attached: georgia-guidstones-2.jpg (720x960, 114K)

i don't know why you're jumping down my throat. We're on the same side you retard.

This is anti-human propaganda.

If its actually true, why do they feel a need to stretch the evidence? Why so panic? Why so disaster warning? When the data simply isn't the impending world end the computers- which were given flawed data to make algorithms- showed.

Unfortunately they still do vote (I’m from Australia) and because they all consume the big business funded mainstream media, they are fundamentally wrong about how the country works, even as much as the media blatantly ignoring or lying about the facts to win voters with there huge huge big business funded political campaigns

humanity is a cancer. This isn't propaganda, it's a fact.

Not him, but it isn't anti-human to believe that too many people is a bad thing.

All the greenhouse gases in fossile fuels literally used to be in the atmosphere when dinosaurs were flourishing. The worst we can do is return the atmosphere to the conditions it had when the earth was at it's most hospitable towards life. How do you think the carbon got into the oil? Animals and plants breathed it in from the carbon rich atmosphere.

Just highlighting the point that there is concrete irrefutable evidence that climate change is very real and very much caused by us for the other brainlets, that in the technology age actively choose to be ignorant and uneducated

Or our new Marxist government will exterminate the excess population based on computer models as it shows this to be a final solution.

Stop being a pussy and do something about it. Go vote. Advocate for renewable energy. Spread the word about climate change. Posting on the Yea Forums isn't going to help anything.

let me tell you something about science journalism, speaking as a scientist. News organizations are the ones who over-hype and spin results, not the scientists. They do that because scientific papers are very dry and have lots of caveats that would bore the general public.

If you read the actual papers, you won't see shit like AOC says like "the world is going to end in 12 years". You'll see reasoned arguments that based on the data we have, the climate is going to change in various ways. That's it. That's all scientific papers are - using the facts we have to make new conclusions. That doesn't mean they're always right, but it's the best prediction we can make at this time.

discord
eGjbjn
come

But I do.
>renewable energy
Obviously you meant nuclear.

carbonengineering.com/

you use the phrase "computer models" the same way anti-evolution activists use the word "theory". You don't know what it means. What you think it means is entirely inaccurate.

That’s great and should be mainstream unfortunately for them they have to beat the coal and oil behemoths that essentially run the world with the amount of money and power they have

Or you could try to prepare for that, survive the mass extinction and rebuild humanity.

SO given this, can you tell OP to end it now or will you (as a scientist) admit that the world will not end due to "climate change" in op's lifetime?

climate change is caused by the solar cycle and a weakening of the magnetosphere.

OP, kill yourself on stream for your and our sake

Settle down eddie bravo

i am an astrophysicist, not a climate scientist, so i can't say that for sure. But my opinion is that we're more likely to be hit by a large asteroid than go extinct because of climate change.

In other words, it's highly likely that OP is going to die from complications from the diabetes he certainly has on account of being an obese faggot who spends too much time on the internet, not because of climate change.

Probably plays a minisbule role in comparison to man made CO2

The correlation between co2 level and temp is a paltry 68%. If you believe that is the cause when the correlation with solar output is 95%, you're a fucking retard and should end your life immediately as your carbon footprint is too high to justify your existence

you have that backwards buddy

You’ll find that 97% of peer reviews articles will disagree with you but sure thing user, you’re the one that’s right

dailycaller.com/2019/06/07/national-park-glacier-warnings/

And so the calls for death camps begin...

it doesn't really matter if climate change is going to kill us all or not. We should limit our impact on the environment as a matter of principle, not solely for self-preservation. We aren't God, we have no right to do things that cause the extinction of other animals or the destruction of earth's natural beauty.

That's a really good point. But the problem is that most people are fucking idiots and don't care unless their daily lives are at stake.

You need to keep up with the Kardashians.

Man doesn't make co2. It gets released from places it's been trapped. There was 5 times as much co2 in the atmosphere when the dinosaurs roamed and the earth was doing fine.

We weren't around back when dinosaurs were on Earth. We don't know what effects will this amount of co2 have on us.

Incredibly uninformed opinion. All the worlds economies are linked and reliant on each other. How many honk kongs, singapores, coastal towns etc getting destroyed do you think the economy can take?

>scientist and that in 2050
>SCIENTISTS SAY
>ACCORDING TO STUDY$
>SCIENTISTS FEAR THAT
>SOME/MANY SCIENTISTS SAYS

With "informations" like that, could you really be afraid of something we can relate on ?

Attached: 1554665228375.jpg (5120x2880, 1.74M)

It spooked me because it was over a year ago. And now I'm hearing warnings on various media about "climate catastrophe" incoming in 2050. It could be a coincidence, but still.

We do actually. A great example would be fucking Venus. An atmosphere so thick that it would essentially become a fucking convection oven with no oxygen.

It's not just you. Also, I'd place my bets on earlier than 2050 as humans like to pick up the pace when using things. Why? Because populations are exploding and everyone seems to think someone else will solve the problem and/or that the resources on this planet are endless.

Example: when I was a kid back in the early 80's I lived in Nebraska. We had a massive aquifer called the Ogallala Aquifer that supplied all our water. We were told as kids that the water would last 100 years. One kid asked "what will happen in 100 years?" and the teacher replied "we certainly will have found another source of water by then!" and the kid was happy. That was over 30 years ago.

Five years ago people were saying there was only 20 years left. Now it's looking closer to 10, and what's left is contaminated with industrial waste from farming and mining.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogallala_Aquifer

This is just aquifer. Imagine the scale of billions of humans messing up the biosphere to the point we are seeing a temp shift that causes massive storms and flooding. Children born now are going to see living hell. As French nobles said right before people went crazy with the guillotines "Après moi, le déluge" ("After me, the flood")

Attached: whats going on oh dear.jpg (482x698, 46K)

Yeah, basically all this makes me not want to have children.
I believe that the best thing an individual can do at this point is not reproduce.

It probably is. There's enough kids who are starving and/or unwanted even in first world countries right now. Food banks are proliferating for a reason.

If only people in India or China had the same mindset. What even drives people to reproduce? It just feels selfish, it's like investing in a expensive toy and being unable to maintain it.

Yep. This is why science is not a "debate". There is nothing to debate. Facts are not the same as ideas.

Science simply seeks to prove/disprove, and once proven it takes a solid amount of provable, repeatable information to disprove. Theories won't cut it. Faith won't cut it. A cherry-picked data set that can't be repeated won't cut it. Only repeatable proof from at least as many sources as those that proved something can disprove it.

This

Wow are you guys from the club of Rome..?

>club of Rome
Not really, no. But do continue reproducing until there's no living space or food for your family.

China actually had a "one child" policy until recently. Now it's "two child", though not enforced well in the boondocks. China sees it's people as an expendable, renewable resource from what I've seen. They use up their own people the way Americans use up "replant-able forests". Now, their horrifying use of land and water is much, much worse. China is running out of water that is safe to drink. Areas in the countryside are full of radioactive waste. It's terrible.

China and water:
youtube.com/watch?v=yjM3I2eoZx8

Also a great channel on China in general. Check it out!

As to India, it's a faith issue. Much like how Christians in America encourage having children, Hindus in India also encourage having children. Also the caste system has resulted in groups of people who can't hold jobs and so can't afford basic medical care, condoms, food, ect. Prostitution and sex for food are rampant leading to lots and lots of babies in the poorest castes. Also people give money to child beggars out of sympathy and the parents know this so they have more kids for more money.

tripsavvy.com/india-beggars-and-begging-scams-1539144

>The Club of Rome is an organisation of individuals who share a common concern for the future of humanity and strive to make a difference. Our members are notable scientists, economists, businessmen and businesswomen, high level civil servants and former heads of state from around the world. Our mission is to promote understanding of the global challenges facing humanity and to propose solutions through scientific analysis, communication and advocacy.

I hadn't actually heard of them until today. I'll have to see if I can join them. Thanks for the tipoff!

We are making more carbon than the plants can hold. If every available acre of the USA was covered in trees it would not offset the greenhouse emissions that the USA makes in a year. That's just the USA. Other countries are much, much worse.

>I'm scared as fuck.
don't worry, you'll be long dead before then. there's so many other things to worry about that by the time the caps actually melt, we'll be post apocalyptic anyways.

I guess that's true. The caps don't have to entirely melt to flood almost all low lying land and island nations. Also, there's the longer hotter summers and colder winters. Drying up of arable land causing mass starvation. The more frequent and severe storms, hurricanes, tsunamis, ect.

Yeah, a lot of us will be dead before the ice caps melt. Our kids get to die afterward, if they live that long.

No more need to explore space: we'll bring space to us!

Got into argument with a friend and had nothing better to do, so i spent a week reading different peer reviewed papers on climate change.
First off, 97% of them agree with eachother because anthropogenic climate change is their starting off point, not a conclusion based in facts. Secondly, most of these imminent catastrophy theories are based on the the highest uncertainty limits for their extrapolated data, for example, a WWF study concluded that a certain bird population was going extinct because their graphs showed a possible decrease of 30% in their populations, but because the extrapolation was so overreaching, it also indicated a possible increase of 10%, which would have corresponded with long-term trends.
Thirdly, the small warming/cooling cycle is responsible for the fluctuations in world temp., look into the medieval ice age if you want more info on that, even if that was man-made, a couple degrees up or down isn't going to do much that we aren't already used to. Cont.

Attached: FB_IMG_1558310739163.jpg (393x353, 11K)

> anthropogenic climate change is their starting off point
...Because it is a conclusion many of them have reached a consensus on. Thus it makes a good starting point.

> a couple degrees up or down isn't going to do much that we aren't already used to

Four degrees Celsius is the difference between now and the Ice Age with wooly mammoths in it.

prairieclimatecentre.ca/2016/10/four-degrees-of-separation-lessons-from-the-last-ice-age/

Fourthly, climate change/ecology is absolutely a business, who do you think sells waste quotas and gets the administrative fees from charities? On that note, be aware that most people pushing the doomsday prophesy are also authoritarian socialists, rarely will you find someone who isn't a social parasite taking it too seriously. This religion appeals to people who want to control you, be very afraid of those people getting power over you.
Fifth, in ((marxist)) academic circles, saying you don't believe in manmade climate change is like saying men can't be women and hitler was right, your research will be attacked and nitpicked forever, your reputation will be smeared. Even those scientists cognizant of this explicit bias will not act against it because they just spent like 17 years in school and their reputation as researchers is all they have.

Attached: 1537434703358.jpg (740x663, 93K)

>circular reasoning, the bible exists, therefore god exists. I need a little more than "other people say so"
>humans hunted wooly mammoths and we were nowhere near our current technology, worst case scenario we gain a new usable landmass in the arctic while losing some cities that were built almost underwater to begin with

> climate change/ecology is absolutely a business
Of course it it. So is ignoring climate change and sticking with the status quo via entrenched previous-existing systems. People always try to find a way to make money. It's human nature.

> in ((marxist)) academic circles

Politics have no place in science and should have no place in science. Not being able to repeat your studies, cherrypicking data, or falling for other scientific faux-pas is what causes others to not listen. Also, science is about nitpicking. If it can be disproven or proven, it should be disproven or proven.

Also anyone who attacks reputation of someone else doesn't know how to use facts to their benefit. It's a sign of a weak mind.

> I need a little more than "other people say so"
There are thousands of studies from all over the world done by unrelated people and organizations saying the same thing. This is not a case of hearsay. This is something repeatable that has been repeated many times.

>humans hunted wooly mammoths and we were nowhere near our current technology
There also were a lot less humans so our impact and resource levels were very different. It's not impossible to survive an ice age level climate shift, however, there will either need to be a tech explosion with a lot of lifestyle changes to make up for the change or a large dieoff to accompany the changes in the climate. It's not going to be pretty, especially as so many people and countries are very set in their ways.

I love the Georgia Guidestones. I wish more people knew about them all over the world. There should be copies of them in many countries translated into many languages. That would be a lot more helpful than a few stones in just one place!

On the topic of the status quo, there is no scientific proof of anthropogenic climate change, i went down the citation rabbit hole and they end up citing eachother or debunked/flawed studies mostly based on conjecture.

Academia is very marxist, that's not slander, they self-identify as such. Politics has no place in science, yet the groupthink affects a bias on a large scale.
I've looked into at least tens of these, 99% of them are based on either flawed data, are inconclusive or are willingly obtuse.
>climate shift
There's not going to be a major one for a long time, based on easily observable patterns from raw geological data. The temperature shift amplitude is going up, which is normal and expected.

Attached: 1538249128770.gif (356x200, 1.52M)

It is possible there are more studies out there you have not read as you have only read a couple dozen. Commonly found information is not always good information. It also is possible a lot was lost in the purge leaving only "bad" articles.
courthousenews.com/scientists-decrying-academic-purge-by-trump-lose-suit/

Cool, why don't you cite an actual article and i'll show you exactly where they fucked up with their methodology.

Attached: 1538045367556.jpg (1057x1055, 248K)

Because the ones that were most useful were removed in the purge. I didn't know it was coming and didn't save them. You'd think scientific archives would be safe storehouses of information....
