Best single player game anyone?

Best single player game anyone?

In my opinion one of my favorite games to play is, "The Witcher 3" I know the other two were not as acceptable as this one. And I know that some of the mechanics in this gams aren't all too good. But I'm more gravitated towards a lot of the characters like The Bloody Baron, Ciri, and fucking Regis from the B&W dlc.

What's your favorite game and why? The mechanics? Playstyle? Characters?

For a first time experience, TW3 is hard to beat. For replayability it is weak tho. Gets old quick.

I got it as a gift the other day (thank you again, kind user!) and I'm debating whether I should play some other games before installing this one. I went through the Steam reviews, and the only "cons" I've seen so far... were people saying that The Witcher III would make every other game you play obsolete once you finish it.

I'm scared that playing it might make other games look dull in comparison. Thoughts?

Skyrim if it wasn't as buggy as it is

Pretty heavily storydriven, so if you haven't played the previous games, you might get lost in the dialogue now and again. Just feels like that once you finish a good game, but plenty of good games has hit thr market since the days if Witcher 3.

as far as medieval fantasy you won't be inclined to play anything else. the main story, the dlc with immortal david beckham and the vampire dlc have everything you could want mashed together with tons of interesting side quests.

oh, and you can feck grills in every single story.

It is amazing - I do wish I could get some sort of memory wipe so I could go back and play it all again without knowing how it ends.

Whether it makes other games obsolete... well, that's a matter of opinion. There are flaws with the game; some of the controls are dodgy, and combat can sometimes get samey and button mashing once you know the enemies and/or on a second playthrough, and some of the dialogue is out of character for some of the regulars (although if you haven't played the first two, then this won't matter nearly so much) and some of the character interplay seems forced to move the game on.

However, from a pure overall immersive gameplay, story telling, great characters and worlds to play in, there's nothing better imho.

That's tough
All time, probably Oblivion. Never been so immersed in a world.
Recently, probably God of War

I think Hollow knight is one of the greatest games I have ever played.

I don't see why Witcher 3 is so beloved. Maybe it was over hyped, but it doesn't seem like that great of a game. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but I just don't see why everyone loves it.

My top 3 would probably be:
The Witcher 3, Divinity: Original Sin 2 and The Last of Us, for it's story.

I have to say though, when I got TLOU I didn't play it for a year, because I somehow didn't like it?? But after that year I started again and couldn't stop and when I finished it I was just amazed by the story and everything you go through as a player. Beautiful game and characters.

Best? That's a tough call and up for debate.
If you are looking for a good game, Dragons Dogma is a hidden gem people may have missed and it would definitely fall into my top ten.

Hype for Cyberpunk. CD projekt red is not going to let us down

God of War is the best single player game to come out in the last 10 years

story is amazing, you will love it
but It has one of the slowest starts of any game ever.
I played Witcher 2 and thought it was great
But I bought Witcher 3, played it for 12 hours, and did not play it for 6 months until I got high one evening and got deeper into it.

It's so fucking good once you get to the Bloody Baron

Okay, I'm a couple hours in and it's a rough start. Specially since I can't find a weaponsmith to repair my damn swords. And the repair kits suck for the price.

I missed out on the fucking Doppler mutagen, didn't realise until I'd nearly beaten the main story. Fuckin' excellent game though, fucked everyone you could and strung yennefer along until the "genie JuJu" wiped away geralt's feelings for her.

Infamous Second Son

Best game with no gameplay at all? Nope. Good story, shitty gameplay. It can't be the best single player game.

Shit story

You..... I've seen you. Let me see your face. You are the one from my dreams

Witcher 3 is definitely one of my favorite games but will there ever be a game like Mass Effect 2? The party roster is great, the space atmosphere is amazing with tons of high points and when you play it it just feels like "we wanted to make a game you would enjoy" so despite the flaws I still love it.

Why are you bringing up this tech demo?
