No they really do want open borders. The debates have proven that.

Because they want to save the lives of everyone they can by allowing them to live in a safe, secure and stable environment.
What they fail to realise is that if we do not control immigration, our environment becomes unsafe and unstable. It will never be as bad as it south of your borders in the USA, but open borders is not the solution. Institutions to house immigrants until their claims are heard and tested and their status is determined is what is required. A few dozen apartment buildings and a small town around them which they're confined to until their status is decided and then they're moved to a location where a job is secured for them or where the population could do with a boost.
It would create thousands of jobs for Americans and immigrants alike in building, processing, etc. Jobs at every level. And it isn't like there isn't enough u occupied land in Texas or some shit for this to work out. It's not a prison town, exactly. More like a very high grade refugee shelter with more beurocracy for immigrants who don't follow proper procedures.
