Think part of the reason I don't feel right in myself is cos I don't feel very mature in my body - had a nervous breakdown when I first went to uni and starved myself for a bit, got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes shortly after that.. So building myself back up has been a struggle.

Went to Edinburgh to do social anthropology. Nervous breakdown was more like the climax of a slow burn build up of anxiety over my teenage years. Actually conspicy theories made up one of the main reasons it happened really, in the year leading up to it- paranoia sets in. /x/, not even once kids.

Diabetes was diagnosed by vomiting, losing weight very very fast and having an absolutely unquenchable thirst. But apparently I'm very well controlled for a diabetic - very healthy blood sugar levels.
Thank god for the NHS so I don't have to have for my insulin. I pity the Indians and Americans of this world.

Yeah, it's a beautiful place. I have fond memories of it (apart from the nervous breakdown bits) stangely enough haha.

For the diabetes, genetic lottery my friend. My granddad (died before I was born, for unrelated reasons) had it. There's a theory that the increase in allergies in western countries in the last 50 years (as type 1 is an autoimmune disease) is related to increases in incidence of type 1, as well as certain types of virus possibly triggering it. But yeah, genetics man. Lol

Honestly I wouldn't be able to tell you about mood. Edinburgh, coming back home and which probably gave me more space to go even more off the rails, going on SSRI's, deciding to try to occupy myself with work then getting diabetes.. Was all over the place man.
Many diabetics get depressed after diagnosis, as they come to realise that they're going to have to manage this disease for the rest of their lives. Many don't sweat it though, either. Like me - I just said, fuck it doctor, I don't wanna let this shit irritate me, just tell me what I have to do to manage it and I'll get on with it. And I get on with it fine. It's not a huge deal like losing a leg or arm - just a daily irritation. But that's life eh
