What's the best way to invest 1.5 million dollars (my inheritance) so I don't need to work ever again? I'm young and my dad died recently. I live in a pretty big major city and apartments here cost like 600k for something decent/newer. Was thinking of buying 2, living in one, renting the other one out for $2000/month and then getting a mortgage on another cheaper one that I could rent out for about $1400/month. But even this is a small income and I'm not sure if I should take the risk of putting all my liquid cash into equity. What should I do? I have zero idea on how to invest in stocks, I don't even want to do that because it's too risky. I don't gamble. I'm not sure if I would want to start some sort of business since most fail. Realistically I'd like to make about another 1 million, maybe 1.5 million.

I quit my job today, I was some hot shot for an IT-firm lol, they had a complete solution and I offered to find some powerful customers.
