black mage is the only combat class i have at max level, so black mage.
ive got miner and botanist and weaver maxed as well, and soon to be alchemist.
ive got over half the classes over 30, so i have a vague idea of how they play, since i can just read all their abilities, and none of them have looked better than black mage to me.
and dragoon is a cluster man, my god, i dunno how that happened.
i was trying to go too far so you'd say no...
we'll just leave it on the backburner for now

well im getting a ton of materials right now so i can just sit down and crank out some potions for xp, thats the boring part.

there's always that spiritual successor game... space... star?... something?? i think you probably know what im talking about
im sorry, i have a tendency to be vague when i talk about black mage since im usually not talking to someone who's played ff14 let alone a black mage at max level
what i mean is that im not good enough to play them well. it takes a TON of meta knowledge about fights to know where to stand, when to move and more importantly when -not- to move, where and how to time your tirplecasts so you can actually do any dps at all since black mage is so immobile, at least while theyre doing damage. that's something i couldnt accomplish without a huge investment, especially since im on the east coast with 120+ latency at all times.
it feels amazing to dodge boss abilities and still get six fire IV's out without dropping enochian, but jesus is it hard.
thats what i mean, sort of. i want them to be a bit easier so the learning curve isnt so steep, but that would also ruin what i like about them. luckily im okay with never being good enough for endgame content.
god is it satisfying though, i love seeing fire IV's animation

Ahh, yeah. Black mage can be quite difficult to play at the top level because of stuff like that. It's another reason why I didn't actually main it, I knew that I could play at a decent enough level, but I can't really maximise my DPS. It's fine though, I don't particularly raid or anything. A friend of mine does, but I don't find it that appealing.
I'm looking forward to trying Dancer, honestly. And seeing Machinist's new kit.

nah, mankind divided, i beat human revolution a while back and haven't touched the original, tho i'd like to at some point!
i like to do the ghost pacifist playthrough, never getting caught and no killing! i try to be really thorough looking for items and stuff, the game really rewards exploring and leaving no stone unturned! i've gotten a bit obsessive about it tbh

im not very good. i drop enochian all the time, waste frozen hearts, etc etc. i can do regular dungeons and trials, but thats probably it. but yeah, i dont even have any raids unlocked actually, as embarrassing as that is. i dont know why, i just never really do most blue quests. ill get around to it eventually.
for now im having fun just leveling the classes and stuff :)

i heard mankind divided is kind of the first half of what was originally going to be one long game but they split it into two, and then the second half never ended up getting made, so it feels unfinished as a result... i got it for free, tho, so i'm just getting what i can out of it!
well, a pacifist playthrough isn't too tough since enemies don't wake up when you knock them out as long as you hide them so no one can wake them up, so it's effectively the same lol, altho i try to avoid them entirely by finding vents and stuff! always feels pretty nice when you find a hidden path and the game is full of them!
ghost is a bit harder... i save pretty often so i just end up reloading if i get caught, tbh
i played human revolution that way and mankind divided has even more options for that kind of gameplay so it's pretty nice... feels like the way the game is meant to be play to me honestly! sneaking around people behind boxes, crawling into vents, finding passcodes to computers and disabling security features, it's more fun to me than just shooting everyone by a longshot!
