Found this on my lawn today. I can't tell if it was done by an animal or a person. I'll be checking the security footage that faces this direction to see if there's anything suspicious but I thought I'd ask for your opinions instead of /an/ to spare them any triggering.

Later the same day another was found in my shed with the same burns. A week later the one that got hit by a car escaped the house and jumped off a retaining wall and died.
