Some people are all about the older all solid bodies, but the new modern chambered ones are way better imho. They're lighter and sound fantastic.
I'm more of a fan of the classic 57 pickups vs the burst buckers, but I think they revamped the burst bucker pickups recently so they may actually be better than they were in the mid 00's.
anyway.. I have 2. Must suck to be poor, and not be able to afford one.

just get an epiphone, if you go to a guitar store and pick a modern gibson les paul and then an epi les paul there is literally no difference, expect sometimes the epi's have been quality control

It does fall short in all ways from the gib
,Quality, feel, tone, playability
But it's not bad.

I have the same in wine red, I've been generally impressed, definitely not the real thing, but its also about 2 grand cheaper
