I'm not sure this gives full appreciation to how negative suicide is though. Suicide is one thing if you're old, have already lived enough, you're terminal, and just want to end suffering.

Any other reason to suicide, except maybe to die a hero in war, is just awful. It's not good to even want to die. Even if you're thinking about suicide, that's not good. It's not good because it's a bad life. I don't mean thinking about suicide passively, I mean thinking about it like there's a good chance you might actually do it. If you're in that spot, you need to do your best to get out because it's not good to want to die. That's not what you want life to be about. Whether or not you actually do it, the fact that you even want to do it is not good.

There are only pros.

You won't feel the pain you were enduring while alive anymore. I know drugs can help you with that, but the drugs that do help you with the pain have nasty side effects. And by using those drugs all the time, you'll find yourself in even more pain and misery.

There are no cons for you, because you would be dead and free of worries. Even if you made your family sad, it wouldn't be your problem anymore.

Listen, humans biologically do want to live, that's true. But the problem is that our brains weren't really made for the life we have to live since the last few thousands of years. Your brain is simply not made to go to school with other kids and possibly get bullied. Or just feel compared to other students (by grades and academic performance) during your childhood. Or not get accepted by your peers because you're ugly, etc.

If we were living in a tribe in the woods, you can be 100% sure that we would not think about suicide even for a second. Why? Because our brains would not be affected by the late construct of modern society, which is the real reason why so many people are depressed in Western countries.

You can't just say to someone "don't be sad man, try to be happy instead!", when this sadness and pain were both rooted in their brains during traumatic events they have the misfortune to go through during their childhood and during puberty. Events they sadly didn't have any control over.

Suicide is a bad thing in nature, but it might sadly be the best answer to people living in a modern society.

Non-natural problems = non-natural solutions.
