Hey Yea Forums, I'm not a usual here but I hop on from time to time. I'm here because I'm desperate and poor and don't know where else to turn. My puppy(pick related, he's 6months old) hasn't eaten in 3 days now and has only drank a couple times in those 3 days. He's been very lethargic and has been throwing up orange kinda foamy bile. He's only pooped twice and they've both been completely liquid. I don't know what to do. I can't afford a vet trip cause I'm currently in between jobs. Any help would be appreciated, but if y'all don't feel the need to help that's ok too. I just really don't want to lose him. He's saved me from a few suicide attempts. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know about animals really but sounds like it could be a bowel obstruction. Is the dog in pain at all? Any whining or yelping? If not then he could have eaten something bad and you just need to let him be and encourage him to drink. If he’s showing signs of pain or discomfort then I’d guess it’s a bowel obstruction and would need immediate medical attention. Any more info you could provide would be helpful.

He doesn't look like he's in pain, but he has been staying in his kennel a lot more often. I did recently change his food, but the food quality is better than what he was eating. I tried to get him to drink some electrolyte solution designed for animals and he wouldn't touch it. I tried to feed him some pumpkin and oatmeal mix and tried some oatmeal and and yogurt mix, but he wouldn't eat either of them. Also, his last 'poop' was orange-ish in color.

oatmeal a good gentle meal for its stomachs? My vet recommended boiling chicken and mixing it in with rice for meals.

So dogs generally aren’t too fussy but changing the food up, even if it’s the good stuff, can cause stomach upset if the dog has been brought up on a particular kind of food. Try the old stuff?
The dog will chill in his kennel if he’s feeling shitty mine does. But any whining will indicate pain which isn’t good obviously.
My advice, as a dog owner but only a human medical student, is to encourage water, try the old food, comfort him and see how he goes over the next day or two He really should see a vet but I understand that money is tight. If I were you I’d borrow enough money for a vet checkup just in case. I’m sure you have parents, or friends etc. Do what’s best for puppers health!

My dog Chew is the only friend i have ever since ptsd war shit.
I don't leave the house much on my own.
I cook meals for them which is the only reason why i eat regularly.
They are so loyal they wont eat unless i eat too. They inspire me to keep my shit together and take care of myself.
My dog makes me leave my comfort zone. We go on pointless drives on country roads or just watch the river flow past. They introduce me to new people and helped me realize I'm safe back home. And i help keep them safe.

2. Research all vets, vet schools, zoos, religious centers, etc. in your area. Call them. Find out if they can help you, if you can get a discount, if you can get a loan to help your dog.
3. Sell everything you don't need, sell whatever you have to, sell your phone, sell your computer, sell your car if it makes sense.
4. Talk to your friends and family about getting a loan
5. Stop fucking around like a little bitch
6. Stop making excuses. The economy is booming. Get 2 jobs to pay for your buddies treatments, to pay back whatever loan you have to take, and to save up $10K to keep as an emergency fund for the future.

Make it clear upfront that it will you need to set up a payment plan or surrender him to a SPCA/RSPCA Shelter, whatever it is in your area and they can help him however they can.
In the meantime get some water into him .
