My dad just got me to sign a "dependent check for social security"...

My dad just got me to sign a "dependent check for social security", I kept asking what that means he said I get paid social security because I'm his dependant under home cause hes old, I laughed and kept asking what that means but he started getting mad and yelled at me to sign it, what did I sign? Had the statue of liberty on it and said social security and had my full legal name on it. He said I wasnt suppose to get it yet whatever that means? I'm 18 and am about to leave but anyone know what that is

If it has your name and social on it and you have to sign for it kid it's your money

I'm kinda of a meathead I understand I have to sign for it but I dont know what I was signing, whqts social security and why are they giving me checks with my name on them?

You're considered a dependent so long as you live with your parents until the age of 25. Since your dad is a poor fag he gets x amount of money from the government for you just like a single mother does for her kids

Your dad told the government that you were too retarded to work, so the government gives you money regularly until you die out of pity.

Your dad is robbing from taxpayers, and you're going to be in the hook when it comes out.

Don't sign anything anymore.
Talk to a lawyer kid.

Kek

Kek lol but I dont think that's what it is user

A dependent can mean anyone under 25. If the checks are being made to op's name the father can't cash the check without committing fraud so op would be off the hook anyway

Lmfao can yall stfu tell me what's happening

It's one of these two things op. He's either getting money from government to take care of you like a single.mother would or he's committing fraud by claiming to be you and collecting neet Bux in your name. It's about as straight to the point as I can get.

Thank you I feel more consoled and understood now

These people are acting stupid. You do not sign shit if you're a dependent. These idiots should remember that. The only time this would come up vaguely is within your own tax returns.

If he’s receives social security and your a dependent you get a check as well. He had you sign the check so he can cash it. He took your money bud

So then what is it because I signed a check or something

Well I mean he pays for all my shit so shouldn't it rightfully go to him

He also said he knows they "I'm assuming social security" made a mistake giving it to me and that where putting it in my account to see if they remove it?

Well did it look like a check? I'm positive the first guy who responded was right. If it has *your* name on it and the statue of liberty, and *you* have to sign it, it is your money. He has no reason to need your signature as a father for his personal SS check. It's your SS check.

What the fuck is social security and why do I get? Because I'm poor?
I dont understand

It looked like this but he said it was a mistake they sent it "this early" what does that even mean

Are you disabled? Like in the head? Not because you sound like you are. I'm asking because he would likely hide finances from you.
Are you going to college? Receiving scholarships?

Fully able enlisted in the marine core

Oh I think you should call up where you enlisted buddy. They will most definitely be able to tell you what's up if it's anything related to that.

Not it's not that, I'm enlisted but not active duty yet no basic training etc

That looks like a cheque and you just signed it over to him. You got ripped off

Kek, missing a signing bonus? Cause it seems like it's already been spent.

I am on disability. My daughter also gets a check to help me pay for her expenses. If your dad is on social security or disability that’s prob what it was.

Did you get an enlistment bonus? If so that was probably it and you just signed it over to him.

That stops on their 18th b-day, so doubtful.

I'm pretty sure I didnt

I'd double check your paper work
