Do you enjoy it?

Is brushing with cinnamon toothpaste to mask the fact that my gums bleed a good strategy? Cuz I think it's pretty legit. Can't even tell it's blood when I spit.

I enjoy helping people, sure. The business itself, how it's run, I don't enjoy.

Does your gums bleed without brushing?

how can you tolerate going to the dentist if you have a hyper-reactive gag reflex?

I have a cracked tooth. Like its black but doesnt hurt. When will it hurt? :(

Ive read several times suicide rate of dentists is as high as it gets, ranks up there with whores and psychologists. Are the personal matters in good order?

Can I just chew mint bubblegum instead of brushing my teeth? I don't want to lose my teeth but also I don't feel like expending a lot of time brushing my teeth every day.

Explain to your dentist. Step-by-step, slowly. No matter what you suffer from, you should never be discouraged from getting your teeth checked.

Not quite as hard as the enamel, the dentin is solid as well. With proper dental hygiene, impossible to say how long before it cracks or hits your nerve. Could be 2 weeks, 2 years... Would get it mended ASAP regardless

Heard that too! Several times even. Can't say I can lend any creedence to it from my own observations.

Every day is not a necessity mostly, but I wouldn't recommend bubblegum as substitute for brushing your teeth.

Cofffee is the worst. Smoking as well (not a food tho). Homemade whitening I wouldn't recommend either. Baking soda & lemon, which seems to be popular, erodes and strains your enamel unnecessarily. It will fade away within a day as well.

What got you into it?
You like teeth?
Is going to the dentist necessary if you are diligent about your oral hygiene?

Family. Father a dentist, my grandfather as well. Came naturally. Can't say I had massive passion for teeth out of nowhere! but I like helping people, and I'm glad stuck to it.

The thing is, you, yourself, can't always see if there is an issue growing in your mouth. However, if you don't feel any discomfort, or any issues at all, you really don't have to drop-in every year. Most people show up when something hurts. That can be decades from their last visit.

Yes, I've seen! Thank you

I DID tell you

Are bridges actually a good idea? I genuinely hate mine, honestly I'd rather not have the tooth than have the two adjacent teeth destroyed and constantly have to worry about cleaning it.

WHERES THAT LINK THEN? unless of course you want this thread to stay black

veneers or bonding?

you're bumping so why would we care?

I had invisalign for a few years awhile back, and now I feel like my wisdom teeth are kind of growing out of control, I chew with them often, but it feels like they're much larger than the backmost teeth.

How dire of a problem is it if I just refuse to get them removed?

Personal preference. Most prefer it, as it lends support, but you're not alone either. Some people feel it as some "big" uncomfortable thing, braces kind of feeling, even compared to a full-set of dentures. Cleaning you'll get away from tho,

Yeah like it does look nice but, man it annoys me. From what I understand, the teeth supporting it are much more prone to decay now as well having the enamel ground off unless they are well cleaned all the time?

>veneers
Composite bondings sounds like the go-to on paper, but veneers will last you longer generally.

Unless and until you're in pain, it won't be an issue. As they are "awake" tho, I feel that is just a matter of time before they start bothering you. Are they pushing against your molars?

>bumping
you must be new

can't you just have bonding redone?
I'd like to keep what I have left of my tooth.
sleep grinding wore it down a bit.

Wouldn't say they are more prone to decay, but they are in a way your "nails", so you should pay extra effort towards them.

My insurance ran out in the middle of getting a cavity fixed, now I have a massive hole drilled in my tooth, can I finish it myself?

I haven't had any pain with my wisdom teeth, aside from a bit of pain in the gums surrounding them once in awhile, like after a night of smoking or something. They've been "awake" for maybe 2-3 years now.
Pushing molars? I don't really seem to notice much of any shift in my teeth so far, but they are pressed right up against my molars if thats what you mean, like there's absolutely no gap between them.

white chicks are disgusting.
take them.

You sure can. No problem.

at least post latinas
that pastey shit is gross.

>can I finish it myself?
No. A cavity isn't a death sentece for your tooth nonetheless. Take care of it, and it will hold up for a long time.

>there's absolutely no gap between them
There lay the possible issue. If they are still growing, they might crack your molars, which could be very painful and/or expensive. If you have an opportunity to have them removed, I would take it. How old are you by the way?

No.

24 this year, had invisalign in my mid teens

Have you or can you sell any of that grade A nitrous oxide besides to people who actually need it?

mmmmmmmmmmm

You're in the upper age range of them running wild, unfortunately. Somtimes they stop growing. Impossible to to predict. Judgement call on your behalf!

Plain teeth wise it's a toss up between senior patients. That stuck with me was a young a teenage girl with drug addiction issues with nothing but stumps left for teeth. Took 4 painful visits to get them out, but she was oh so happy when she finally got her new teeth.

Yes. Not unheard of, but impeccable. Keep it up.

Which races have the best and worst oral hygiene?

i have those mercury fillings since i was a kid, but they don't do them anymore in my country
should i get them removed, they bad or nah?

Those aren't true 'mercury' fillings, they're just metallic fillings.

If you have a good insurance plan, feel free to replace them, if you're paying mostly out of pocket, it's a luxury you absolutely don't need

not OP, just a dental student btw

>Judgement call on your behalf!
shit, i guess i'll go in for a checkup with an ortho, worst case im out a couple hundo, but my teeth are okey dokey

appreciate the help OP.

Immigrants in my case. From where ever, Somalia, Syria, Iraq, and so forth. That is not something I connect their race with tho. It's simply lack of care they had access too.

How long ago did you get them?

Receding gum lines. Is that caused by the gums shrinking or the jawbone dissolving?

cheers!
when i was around maybe six

Ever cop a feel?

Was gonna say, when you can't get a piece of floss between there, head to your doc. But yeah, better safe than sorry.

No. Never even thought about it to be honest!

Why are veneers or those golpa G4 teeth so absolutely fucking outrageous price wise, other than the actual labor of pulling the remaining teeth, or even partially, don't they basically "bolt on"? It's 2019 and a set of cheap G4 is like 40K out of pocket. Veneers skys the limit

Is snus really good for teeth?

What's the biggest mistake you've made treating someone?

Sewed the foreskin back onto a jewish patient.

That is the one aspect of this industry I don't like. You think 40K is ridiculously expensive? It is! The same with very simple veneers, fillings, any procedure is overpriced today. A lot of dentists will even lie to you, tell you, you need more work than you actually need! I'm not some saint either, but I won't lie to people to make a few extra bucks.

Snus will somewhat lower the PH value in your mouth, killing off some tooth gnawing bacteria, but it's good! in any way for your teeth! Strains the enamel and causes irreversible gum damage

I chipped the edge of a tooth once going in quick with a file. "Shit" and an awkward silence ensued

not good* !!!

I've given up on having nice teeth, I basically clean my mouth to keep my gums semi healthy at this point. I explained to my dentist I want dentures unless I can save the money for implants. I have a feeling they are so pushy in my case to keep my teeth so they have something to work on in the future. I mean if you saw my teeth they're not dog shit but they're the patch of grass like 2 feet away, why would I want to start cleaning them now with 4-5 missing from my chewing surface? Should I just shop around until I find a dentist who will give me dentures? Also I do have my front teeth top and bottom, but nonetheless they are stained and all my teeth are soft. Am I fucking crazy wanting them all pulled?

So you are Swedish?

How does smoking compare to eating sweets?

Not OP but smoking will rot your teeth out of your skull fast as fuck, speaking from experience.

>why would I want to start cleaning them now
Never too late. In whatever state your teeth is in, it's never a bad idea to clean them. Teeth are pretty tough, and will stay as long as you help them.

No, you're not crazy. If it's gone as far as you say, it would be a relief for most to get rid of them. Also, dentures shouldnt run you a fortune! What estimates are you being given? Implants would be perfect to prevent longterm boneloss in your jaw, but dentures should be mandatory for anyone who needs them

Constant sugar intake without brushing trumps smoking easily. Smoking leaving a plethora of trash in your mouth as well tho.

They offered me a partial on one side for like $500 I believe, could be off by $100 in either direction it was a long time ago. I really appreciate the input, and yes your so right, it would be such a relief. Not to be ashamed to smile at people or laugh, pictures, it would change my life. What is a ballpark price for a full set of dentures, excluding the removal of my current teeth? I'm in the US btw.

I've got a few implants and some heavy recession at the base of some due to the accident that caused me to need them. Its constantly feels like they are going to break off and one of them has popped off the post before. Any thoughts on getting the gums to fill in more?

Sadly, that offer doesn't sound half bad. Because like you say:
>Not to be ashamed to smile at people or laugh
Should be a human right, everyone is entitled too. I'm from EU, and we have something called "high cost" protection here. Meaning once you hit a roof in payments per year, the state cover the excess costs. THAT is a roof far from everyone reach yearly, and the prices you mention are on-par with the same ones we got here.

Might not be following you a 100% here, but is the recession progressive?

My teeth are bad. Implants or dentures

Implants if you can cover it, dentures better than heavily decayed teeth tho,

My teeth are fucked but i wont get help cause pulling the ones i got is not considered necessary?

And i have highrisk protection

How would you fix meth teeth

Attached: Meth-Mouth-3-of-3-300x200.jpg (300x200, 13K)

I pull out my own.

Loophole. That is the ignorant loopholes gov'ts find to save a few bucks.

Extract and replace.

with more meth

Ask around between private practices, some don't care, and will help you out.

I'm afraid Has you beat, he got dubs

Well, he'll get the first part done with meth!

Can confirm, I’m getting what’s left of mine taken out on Friday.

I'm poor and went to a clinic where dentists volunteer time. I got all fillings done for free.

I had a tooth that basically had a hole at the end.

The asian dentist lady said that the tooth can't be saved and needs to be extracted.

But I didn't want that.

So I told her to put a filling in the hole.

Instead of the same filling material that she used on the other tooth, she used some softer prittle material that started falling out after only a few months little by little.

Why the fuck could she not have used the regular material?

Malpractice. Didn't like your opinion, so she went out of her way to make a shotty job.

well, the strength of the tooth is compromised and that area has slowly been breaking apart

I bought a drill and some filler material, I'm planning to do the procedure myself

at first she said that tooth needed a crown to her assistant, but then she just said extraction
