If you cannot regularly beat Starving Bandits you need to keep training. I also saved up for a shack in The Hub. Having a place to call home is very relieving even if it is pathetically small. I also ran from fights, a lot. Like, holy shit I ran from a lot of fights. You probably ran into Beak Things, very unlucky considering they can casually run at 35 MPH, one of my doods has 93 Athletics and Wooden Sandals with no de-buffs to Athletics and he can barely tough 29 MPH.
