Been a long time since I did acid, but here's a few tips:
1. Don't take more than 1 hit your first time
2. An hour or so in you will likely still not feel much of anything. Still do not take more at this point, it will kick in eventually unless it's utter shit.
3. What you get out of an acid trip reflects what you bring to it. Be in a positive state of mind and surround yourself with an environment that makes you feel good.
4. Enjoy.

Most of these comments sounds like no one here has actually tripped. So here i go. First off you dont need to be in a good state of mind. Its a chemical its gonna do what its gonna do. Meaning if your mad youll be happy when it kicks. If your happy youll remain happy. Id say just get in some comfy clothes and dont where shoes. Walk around or if you have a willing friend ask them for a ride. Car rides are fun on acid. Smoking weed is not a bad idea if you already smoke. If you arrnt already a pot head the coughing will be annoying but not bad. Drink lots of water. Not for the acid just stay hydrated my dood. And listen to music you like but sprinkle in new music youve never heard for some surprises.

Clean your house/apartment, setup any nice lights you may have, I recommend either chilling on the couch with eyes closed or watch epic cinematics, or just do both. Prepare a LONG list of epic/melodic music or just listen to a Shpoongle list. I know some recommend weed, I dont, as your short term memory becomes fucked meanwhile and mananged to get the mind stuck in a unpleasant loop for a while once, and i örefer the pure trip anyway, however weed is awesome when the afterglow comes.

For beginners I recommend:
Take no more than one tab. If you're specially cautious and apprehensive cut that tab into 4 and take a quarter tab every half hour. This will lead to a less intensive peak but a more delicate acclimation. You take more if you feel comfortable after it's fully kicked in.
consume moderate amounts of alcohol prior to ingestion and while waiting for it to kick in. This will lighten your inhibitions, distract your thoughts and make the onset feel more natural.
As far as pairing it with other drugs or substances: Weed intensives the trip. A benzo is good for calming any anxiety. Stay away from stimulants such as coke, addys and meth.

arguably the best drug, make sure you have MUSIC with you on standby because it can greatly enhance your experience. replay some of your old favorites and it'll shine them in a new light. maybe get a note and a pen or something to write and draw.
once you have taken the drug, there really is no going back so try to enjoy the experience as much as possible!

weed on the comedown is pretty good but most beginners trips go south (like my first trip) after you combine weed.
if you're gonna smoke at all smoke at the post 6~8 hour mark when you are coming down.

Make your bed first, and make sure you have lots of easy access snacks around. Don't trust that you'll be able to unscrew a lid; on the comedown you'll be lucky to be able to dress yourself. Best to do it about 2 hours after a good night's sleep and after a good breakfast. Obviously set yourself up with lots of water.

Speed is great - but like you said - that's for more experienced users that have greater internal cognitive control.

My first trip was 2, first 1 and then another after a hour, I would never try just one again, I dont think its worth it, 1 and 2 arent the same trip at all. If you have 2 my recommendation is taking them both with a hour apart, you wont regret it.

My wife's best friend did a double dose and got plastered. She passed out 4 hours in and then abruptly rose in a sleep walking state, walked in front of my fridge, pulled her dress up, and urinated on my kitchen floor - In front of a group of 12 people who were watching her in shocked silence. One tab isnt generally enough to really trip hard. You'll definitely get a trip, but nothing crazy. However, the biggest thing to remember is you're on a drug. Some people panic because it's a feeling they're not used to and they think it means something is wrong. I've never had anything crazy off one hit, but if for whatever reason you start bugging out... always remember: you're on a drug. Just tell yourself to give it 24 hours and if anything is still wrong, then you can freak out but just enjoy it til then. Also, dont fight it. It's called a trip. Let it take you where it wants to go.
Note: your trip wont last 24 hours. That's just a good deadline because itll definitely be over by then.

Also, music is godly on acid. I got a good source a few years ago, one time my friend and I decided to put on some music (neither of us was really into music, just background stuff), and a world opened for us. One of the first albums we tried was, of course, dark side of the moon, and we finally understood why it's such drug meme music. It just -works-
Now we trip/roll 2-3 times a year, and we always bring a bunch of music but don't tell each other which. The playlists is put together right before we drop, nicely spacing each other sopngs. I specifically number mine so they hit at the right moment in the trip/roll.
Since that first time we had a musical trip, I've falling in love with music. All kinds of music, for real, not the 'I don't know so I just say I like all music'. Classical, all kinds of metal, jazz, rap, triphop, glitchhop, edm, industrial, dark, chillstep, pop...
I don't like all songs, of course, but I have yet to find a whole genre I don't at least find interesting.
Also, if you have access to it, poppers and nitrous go very well with lsd. Weed, not so much in my experience, except on the comedown, it can give a little boost.
