I cannot stress to young people out there how important it is to build credit. Having no credit fucking sucks. You can't do a fucking thing and no one will give you anything. Even credit building credit cards deny you. I can't lease a car, I can't get an apartment, I can't get a loan for anything. The only hope I have of getting anything is saving up enough money to fucking buy everything outright and none of that builds credit either.

Seriously, establish some form of credit while you're young or you're fucked when you're older.

Just get a low limit credit card, couple of hundred dollars at most.
Buy a food shop or petrol tank a month on it, then pay it off immediately.
Builds credit really well if you go into each month with no debts, and builds up quickly.

Tried. None will give me one. Even one where you can put a $500 deposit on it. Nope. Even through my own bank, which can see my paystubs come in.

That's by design. Fiat economies are dependant on an ever expanding debt base. There is a deliberate push to make owning your own things and living without debt impossible.Your children will have to take out loans to eat.

You need a cosigner. Without that, you won't get approved for shit. That's how you build credit.

Credit isn't a bad system. It's just an utter pain in the ass to get it started.

Especially since most places and companies don't report when you're paying your bills on time. They only report when you're late or stop paying.

It sounds stupid, but go to your bank and see if they will swing a signature loan for you, around a couple hundred bucks. If they will, make your payments on time, and that helps. I did a signature loan with a place called Security Finance, and would just keep rolling into a new loan for like 2 years. I was loosing money on it, but it let me get a car loan. A common misnomer is that you need a credit card to build credit, when all credit really shows is a steady history of making payments on time. A slower way to show this history is to have bills like utilities in your name, and make your payments on time.

I don't know about all of the stuff I am reading ITT but I have only had my CC for a couple years now since I was 25 maybe? I keep the balance low, always pay it off on time, never more than gas or a few drinks or other small stuff so less than ~150 a month.

I only checked my credit score once but it was well over 700 in the 800s I think which I supposed to be pretty good.
