Honestly there's no black/white answer, the degree of hassle you'll get from someone with schizophrenia can range from minor inconvenience to total utter nightmare.
Take it from someone with experience inside multiple mental hospitals + schizophrenic family members. It can be hell but honestly in some cases it's actually not a huge deal just a matter of being patient. You'll never know exactly where you stand or what to do in any given situation but if you are just chill and have good intentions should all work out.
Though if it gets too crazy too fast might have to distance yourself since no amount of help and love you have is enough for these kind of issues. Just remember they are people too and need a little extra on average in terms of your will power. You can't help people unable to help themselves so don't expect to swoop in and be a knight about it, the best you can do is just be THERE and that's about it really.
Bring some form of stability and order to their chaotic lives otherwise gtfo because you're out of your depth.
