I switched over and tbh there isn’t much of a difference, where iPhones lack androids excel and vice versa. I like my 7 plus, haven’t had any issues in the past year and a half.

iphone is better at a few things, namely android is objectively trash OS. way buggier, way shittier written code, laggier, etc. iOS is way better
you get ripped off fucking hard on the hardware on apple though. an android with iphone XS specs would retail for like 1/3rd the cost.
for example:
iphone xs has FHD+ OLED screen (made by samsung), 4 gb ram, 64 gb memory, 2658 mAh battery, 356,501 antutu score. costs ~$1100 USD
xiaomi mi 9 has a FHD+ OLED display (made by samsung), 6 GB ram, 64 GB memory, 3300 mAh battery, 372,006 antutu score. costs $370 USD
xiaomi has better hardware and costs 1/3rd the price. apple rips consumers off HARD.

It's likely because they've never owned anything else. I think when they say "premium feel" they mean it as a status symbol. Having the latest iPhone is really important to some. As someone who does cellphone repair on the side for extra money, lemme tell you that there is nothing premium about the way an apple device is built. They intentionally put traps inside so if someone tried to repair it then it'll never work again(error 52). You can't do shit with iTunes to fix software issues. Just wipe and restore while losing all your data. It might work fine for you, but I wouldn't chance it
