How do people live in the desert?
How do people live in the desert?
El Paso user here, its very hot and dry, like getting hot with a blow dryer almost. But no humidity and it is almost always clear.
Ama Desert user
Do you bother going outside?
They have a water source nearby, like a river.
Not unless you have to. Most people don't go outside because its usually always hot or cold.
Az here, its gay af.
I considered Phoenix but I heard it's way hotter than Vegas, and I'm an outside guy
Water supply drops. Every so often a plane comes by and sprinkles water on them. Black people keep using desert water funds on welfare, so thats why its a rare occurrence
A lot of ACs everywhere you go. I use to live in Tempe AZ and the summer was unbearable. You literally could not be outside for more than a fucking minute without sweating bullets. Fuck that shit.
Also my favorite how every single thing you touch outside will burn the shit out of your hand and skin
Where'd you move to?
Back to NJ and moved back into my parents house. AZ is cheap as fuck and you can basically live off a min wage job, but after awhile I just got sick of it and noped outta there. I couldn't stand the sheer amount of meth heads, mexicans and white trash there either. The chicks were at least pretty hot though. Still it's a fucking clown show down there.
I'm in the same boat, also a NJ native. Been living in LA, now Vegas. Contemplating moving back for a full on career change, but God damn that'll make me feel like shit
Btw if you're gonna move to Maricopa county I have one word of advice for you. Don't cheap out on an apartment. You're either gonna end up living next to meth heads and/or mexicans or get up in a roach infested dump.
What do you do for work? I mean, if you're happy over there so I'd say stick with it unless you want to be closer with your family. If you're making good money you can live like a fucking king in AZ. Plus I've heard Vegas is only getting more and more expensive each year, but you'd know that better than me. Up to you honesty.
Don't forget the fact that it's an urban nightmare. I don't understand why people want to live there
Because it's cheap and anyone that makes even minimum wage can live there. But yeah I agree, it attracts the worst type of people. Honesty it wouldn't be that bad if there weren't so many fucking methheads and spics everywhere. It also use to get on my nerves when someone would say "hur dur dry heat" like that makes any fucking difference.
110° is 110°. Doesn't matter what the humidity is.
For me, the worst part was that the city never ended. It was all concrete, suburbs, and strip malls, scattered with palm trees like it wasn't the middle of the fucking desert.
Visiting Phoenix from Cali is like a price haven. The only thing I'd like to do over there is get some real estate going.
>scattered with palm trees like it wasn't the middle of the fucking desert.
LOL, I remember the first time I got to ASU and saw this utter retardation, then I realized they're everywhere. It's still one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my fucking life. I would love to meet the genius who came up with the idea to put fucking palm trees in the middle of the desert. It's hilarious.
Half of the people living there are transplants from Cali
Tucson is infinitely better because it's much more reasonable in size and has come to terms with its biome
Tons of Chicagoans too
But somehow there's still a homeless epidemic
massive water diversion projects and air conditioning
Air conditioning, and pools
I know what you mean. I remember one time me and some of my friends got lost and it felt like we were driving around a giant fucking suburb, where a lot of streets and intersections looked identical. Phoenix is huge for literally no reason at all. It feels like it never ends and shit. They should break up Phoenix, but knowing the idiots that live there that'll never happen. They like it that way, actually, and think it makes Phoenix unique or some shit.
Actually not even a giant suburb. It felt like we were driving around in circles and I actually thought we were at one point, but in reality we weren't. It's like if you've been on one street you've been to all of Phoenix already. Everything looks exactly the same.
>Tons of Chicagoans too
In Vegas? Or Phoenix?
That's because of the weather. Outside of the summer it's 70 degree all year long. Why be homeless in a cold place when you can be comfy in AZ or Cali? Not to mention a lot of these people don't even have mental issues or are on drugs, they're just homeless for the fuck of it.
Phoenix. Saw more Cubs gear than DBacks gear on non-game days
I wouldn't call AZ weather comfy, or even eastern California.
Can any AZfags explain to the rest of us why the hell there are palm trees in Phoenix? Do you fags realize how dumb that looks?
Well comfy compared to other states. Would you rather be slightly warm or freeze your dick off in sub 30s weather?
Well I guess that's true. There's actually a big homeless camp under the major bridges in Vegas
I live in Laramie, which is a cold-arid.
Fucking love it.
I asked a few people when I lived there and apparently they planted them to make Phoenix "look nice". Still makes me laugh when i think about it.
People literally move to those areas to be homeless. I dunno why you were choose to be homeless in Maricopa County. You could work at fucking McDonalds and you would still be able to afford a studio for like $300 bucks a month.
>$300 bucks a month.
Yo, is rent that cheap in Phoenix?
I just moved to phx from mia and let me tell you that I dont miss the humidity at all. Every street looks the same here cant tell the difference between mesa tempe scottsdale it all looks so similar. Less niggers then back home so that's nice.
It was when I lived there, and this was back in 2012. I had a friend who was living in a rented out house for that much.
Though I am looking at Zillow right now and apparently the rent has gone up. But it's still around $600-700 for a 1BR which is a fucking burden. Any full-time job will easily pay for that.
What is a nice and cheap place to live inna desert?
They steal water from other communities.
If you're reading this you have been visited by the Ghost of Mono Lake. You must post FUCK OFF LOS ANGLES or your mother will die in her sleep tonight.
You can definitely find places to live for under 500, though I wouldn't really recommend that. You get what you pay for down there.
