I have an enthusiest level build. My ram, cpu and mobo are 600$. The graphics card was 300$ because I waited to buy it. You know so my system will last even longer for cheaper? I've been gaming on this thing since 2014 and it shows no sign of stopping. Highest settings for most shit.

If I wanted to go for broke I could have shaved off 100$ for the cpu but I wanted to be able to OC (so it lasts even longer faggot). Save another $100 with the 970 instead. The price in recent years has gone up. I built a nice budget rig in 2011, but you wouldn't get an equivalent rig (relatively speaking) for the same price today. Maybe a grand. A GTX 1660 Ti is $250. Ryzen and mobo will be about $250 more. RAM is way up, etc etc.

Also portable consoles have the benefit of being able to be easily taken anywhere and played when you want, which you really can't do with PC.

Games on console are built for the specs for that console. PC games usually take the current hardware into account, so yes, while games on PC are more beautiful and demand more from your hardware, you will need to upgrade to play new games as opposed to console since the console game was made for the console specs.

I know today, id need to replace graphics card, and possibly add more ram, but that costs $$$ whereas i haven't needed to drop shit on my console as it still works.
