Actually it doesnt, in Ashcroft vs Freespeech the supreme court ruled that "virtual child pornography" is legally protected. This was done under the basis of a program being capable of producing CP using harmless, perfectly non pornographic pictures of children.
And you know if they're considering something like that as legally protected than these chinese drawings with the anime features and cartoon proportions and obviously fictitious depictions would be protected as well. If you tried to bring this to court it'd be a pretty instant and easy acquittal based on precedent, the preceding case actually being a way harsher test of what you could get away with.
