Couple of days I had a friend teach me

About 10 minutes

Too long.
I was no natural but persevered. To be honest i never even got them done clean, always a weird landing and I’m talking years. I’m quite a capable person but skateboarding made me realise theres just somethings one cant do. It was only brute force that taught me.
Still. Loved just rolling along and was ok enough to have a little bit of fun on a mini ramp

400ms

3 months but a year later i was able to ollie 80cm on flat

about a week, first kickflip took a year tho.

Standing still, about 30 mins
while rolling, weeks

i had a pair of vision street wear with built in ollie pad. piece of cake.

a month still and another week moving

I’ve been trying for around a month. Is this the right way to do it?
Slam on the tail with your weight, while you’re slamming, use the slam to propel your body into a jump. straighten out the board when in air and land.

You need to be unweighting yourself as you push the board down, youre on the way up from a jump and you’re smacking the board to meet you, use your non slsmming foot to catch snd level the board

Stamp the tail and the bounce lifts the board, flick front foot up the front of the board to elevate it and level it out. Took me 10 mins to nail a decent 3 inch ollie, 30 mins for a pop shuvit and in the process of learning to ride comfortablely

bamp

bump

less than a day, but it wasn't the prettiest. Shove it, front side and back side like a week. Kick flips took a while. rolling anything took a while too.

Took me about an hour. I could barely ride my board at that point.

This was me. I was pretty good at miniramp stuff and grinding stuff but the only flip I ever landed was a shove it

I’ve been riding my board for almost a year and feel p confident in it. but for some reason I just can’t get the ollie down. I don’t even mind falling since I actually kinda enjoy it in a masochistic kinda way

tried for weeks but couldnt even get the stupid fucking board off the ground
even bought the shoes and everything

just bought a bike instead its faster

Exactly! My inherent wonky landing actually lent itself to pop-shoveits or 180 ollies. It was so frustrating as most of my friends were waayyy better than me, thankfully I wasn’t the worst but after a few years my friends were kick flipping into rail slides down a set of stairs and I’m still turning my ankle trying to ollie up a kerb
