Yea Forums is the only off-topic board (ie not * generals) with this much activity, so it's a fruitless endeavor trying to post elsewhere and expect engagement.

I fucking hate that /bant/ just became /pol/+[s4s] and populated with 8 chan refugees almost instantly. Saddest board on the entire website, even beats out shit like /po/ where it's just like 5 people talking to each other about their niche interests once a week. /bant/ couldn't have been made at a worse time and wasn't even given a chance to develop any kind of organic culture or be even slightly good. I don't think we deserve any new boards unless it's a containment/segregation board.

Yea Forums was and is and will be the containment/segregation board. People tend to forget this, or they just arrived and doesn't know.

There is more than one containment board. Yea Forums isn't even really one at this point, I believe what you're referring to is the idea that newfags come here first before going anywhere else and learn how to behave. That has not been the case ever. It was a product of a time when Yea Forums was the fastest most known board, now it's barely top 5 and newfags would rather start on /pol/. If a certain miscellaneous topic needs to be segregated on the fly, like that ProJared shit last month Yea Forums will be used. But, most of the boards on here are or at least supposed to be containment boards. /mlp/ and /vg/ are ones that actually work. They keep /mlp/ off the rest of the site and generals off of Yea Forums. /pol/ and /vp/ are examples of failed containment. Moot couldn't stop /pol/niggers from leaking out and Hiro doesn't give two shits. The election allowed for /pol/ to take over the entire fucking site. /vp/ has most Pokemon discussion on it but since posting Pokemon outside of it isn't against the rules, Yea Forums still gets completely flooded with Pokemon shit every other week.

That doesn't it make it not sad though. Sad isn't bad either. I admire their devotion to keeping their board alive and their community clean. It's gotta be hard to find a good origami discussion forum that isn't filled with women or some other cancerous entity, I hope that board sticks around forever for their sake. I just wish that more than like 20 posts were made per year, it's just depressing to look at when you go from just about any other board.

Yes, /po/ is Papercraft and Origami and I don't think it's the slowest board on 4channel but it's definitely down there. It's home to the current oldest still active thread and a maybe about 20 people that are interested in papercrafting. It's a very nice but semi-depressing board because it's so slow and it makes you think about the condition a poster's life has to be in to discuss something like that on a website like this.
