How much is "budget"?
Wait until next month and get the new AMD line
Let me rephrase myself. Um a CPU for. Budget gaming Build
Going to spend 300-500 over a few months slowly building the PC. Looking to start with the CPU and Motherboard.
amd
That's absolutely retarded. If the parts are broken you won't know until it's too late to return them, and the whole time you're holding and not using them, their price will be going down.
Exercise some fucking self control and save, you pathetic manchild.
Microcenter is selling a lot of great amd CPUs for cheap if you're near one, should be enough for gaming
You could try this (obviously fill in the Newegg out correctly)
Newegg/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.3845854
Best budget CPU at the moment is the AMD 2600 in my opinion. On sale alot recently due to the newer chips. If that's too much, go 2400 or 2200
I second this
If I buy the amd Ryzen 5 do i need to buy a video graphic card still or what would I be able to run on it
>amd ryzen
whatever you do,dont buy a fucking radeon graphics card.i got mine custom built(although, not a gaming pc)and i fucking hate radeon graphics card.im half tempted if my graphics card fucks up again to buy a nvidia geforce instead
also,i hated radeon before i got it custom built.but didnt really think about asking the guy if i could get another video card
i5 2500K.
I have one OCed @4.5 GHz. I just bought it jan/this year. The thing it's cheap and still holds.
How’d this
I got a motherboard and an i5 3570k for like 200$ so id recommend something a little higher or equal to that at 1080p on med-high settings with my rx480 is good enough
are you building from the ground up or are you upgrading parts on your current computer? you look like a phone poster so im guessing prior. first off how much are you trying to spend? and if you really want help go on or but im willing to help a bit
Ground up. Less than $500 (occasional gaming) will be used for school and coding as well.
Intel i5 or early i6. AMD is pricier but way more worth it performance wise
-Stick with the stock cooler as they are pretty decent from AMD.
-Go for an B450 Tomahawk because they are the best for your buck
-Get a 2x8 kit of 3200 ddr4 ram because 1x8 are more expensive buying twice and AMD cpu likes faster ram
-I dont recemmend DIYPC cases because of bad rep, do some research on good airflow budget cases on youtube
Other than that you need a gpu. Rx 570 are fairly cheap
Oh and if you go with the B450 Tomahawk, you will need an ATX case, not micro or it wont fit.
Don't start with cpu/mobo. They cycle faster than most other parts.
First get the "universal" parts such as case, PSU, storage, etc. All the stuff that will work with any setup.
After that go for GPU and RAM. These tend to cycle somewhat fast as well, but they are still fairly constant in that they will fit with whatever mobo you get.
Get CPU and mobo last.
Doing it this way will give you the most up to date CPU and chipset at the time you complete the build.
Buying cheap parts that will barely run a decent game in two years isn't exactly efficient long-term budgeting. You should generally set money aside and buy the second most recent generation CPU; it will be able to play games decently for the next 6-7 years easily.
Top-of-the-line is for richfags, as the premium price isn't worth the increase in performance, but if you really want to max it out, there is no other option.
Anything cheap is gonna be garbage in the next few years.
Ok. Where do you recommend I start from this list?
pcpartpicker.com
The ram, HD, and PSU
Like i said before, you dont need to buy a cooler because that cpu comes with a decent one already, saving you some money.
And you need a GPU or it wont work at all. rx570 are a really good choice, or rx 580 whoch are a bit more
Thank you, in this case I should also be looking for a full size tower with good air flow? At what point should I purchase a video card?
OP if I was you I’d look towards a Rockchip build. Paired with a 2070 you should be able to get a good budget mix of CPU performance and graphics performance
What are you, gay? You don't age your components before you put your computers together? My last build was sitting on the floor for over a year before I finally ripped out my old motherboard. By then, the socket had become as obsolete as the one it had replaced.
yes, a case with good airflow is much needed, and full size ATX. And if your cpu doesnt have an iGPU, you will need a graphics card from the start
this is gonna sound very gay, but go on r/buildapc on reddit and they can help alot. give those fags a price and they will come up with many builds
You're so misinformed it hurts.
>AMD ryzen 2400g igpu
>don’t get too hung up on mobo specs in the budget range
>8GB ram (whatever’s cheapest over 3000mhz) - Probably look to quickly buy 2 8GB sticks
>cheapest, well reviewed SSD
>bronze tier power supply
>any case you can affford/looks nice
>buy graphics card later once you have computer that works for school. 2400g will play most games low res for now
>done
If you don't mind an 1150 socket I'd go with a 4790k its last gen but can hold it's own with most games. With 32gb of ram and a gtx1080ti mine runs any game I've thrown at it on max settings. Had to overclock a little for fallout VR
Now that I think about it. Will the list I provided even support VR?
Probably gonna gain a lot of flack for this, but some of the older xeons can be beasts if over clocked. The 56xx line is 6 core 12 thread but doesn't leave much if at all for upgradability, and the x58 boards are batshit insanely expensive.
>i6
B450 Mortar was my pick last time I shopped, though I wasn't building for gaming, just a solid desktop with one GPU slot. Also seems to me that a Ryzen 7 2700 is worth it, but that getting the X version for overclocking isn't.
You’re a literal Brainlet
