When you start out, you'll be lower than shit. Competing with a bunch of other fresh out of college kids, and oldfag neckbeards that never made it.
You'll probably start out coding games that come in cereal boxes and happy meals, if you're lucky and aren't a glorified janitor.
Then you're day will come. The moment of your big break. You'll finally make it into the big leagues. Where you'll spend months, to years working on something, only to have the studio go in a different direction and not tell you until later that they're scrapping your team's content. Then you'll spend another few months in crunch time where you can kiss your family and friends goodbye cause you'll be sleeping at your desk until it ships.
Then launch finally rolls around and you check the metacritic score and it's a tremendous failure. A buggy unfinished mess and you have to go back to work the next day and face your superiors who will blame you for not making them enough money.
Enjoy being the least paid, most worked, peon in the industry.
