Fear of unknown/uncontrollable. It's all fun and games until the triggered party feels threatened enough that they resolve to organize and attack the perceived threat (fundamental religious groups like muslims throwing gays and bis from the roof).
Best to check your methods. Government can punish your murderers but they rarely can prevent you from being murdered. There are other avenues for understanding and acceptance.
