Chris took steroids for that role and isn't naturally like that. It's doable for a normal guy but it takes years. I've been lifting since college and just turned 29. I'm a pretty quiet person but my body and personality have gotten me a few really attractive girlfriends, most of whom i probably wouldn't have had a chance with if i was a normal skinny or chubby guy.

I actually don't know my one rep max capabilities because I stopped heavy lifting years ago. I'm a physical therapist and part of my practice was learning alternative ways to reduce injuries. There have been a number of clinical studies done showing that significant volume at a moderate weight has the same strength and muscle hypertrophy gains as typical low rep/heavy lifting.

Basically I use moderate weights and do 10 sets instead of heavy weights with 5, so i don't know my actual max weights. However my body composition has drastically changed and i am in fact the same weight i was 4 years ago with a radically different muscle/fat ratio. My coworkers thought I was significantly heavier than i actually am because of the muscle ratio.

this guy I should follow up my "bzzzt" by saying everything else you mentioned was 100% right. Literally just not being a slob puts you at *least* in the top half of guys. Proper diet and exercise to get into decent shape (ie no longer chubby or skinnyfat) puts you in, what, the top 10%? At that point the only way up is heavy dedication to lifting (NOT steroids - just getting a top tier physique and low body fat), money, or being lucky and having a really nice face.

I use around 200 lbs for benching. for me, it's moderately challenging but nothing nuts and around 10-11 reps per set. so, 10 sets of 10-11 is what i usually do. I also do 10 sets of chest flyes with around 50 lbs and some lighter chest flyes afterwards at a different angle.

I'm in the gym for hours. It's a lot of fucking work and I'll never be super strong but i *look* super strong at least and I'm strong for my relatively light weight (180) and I'm only 5'9.

Chris evans is around 180 lbs in that photo, he isn't that big just well defined and tall.

For reference, the all time mr. olympia great frank zane was 5'9 and around 190 lbs competition weight.
This is impossible to say without it being evaluated by a doctor first. Sometimes small sprains can be much larger issues and the lack of pain is temporary. Best thing is to take about 2 weeks and see how it feels. If theres no pain at all and 100% movement it's probably okay but definitely no sports or exercises at least 2 weeks.

Now it’s been nagging me since then and occasionally turns REALLY painful. Should I go to a physio therapist or a chiropractor? I think it was way too much anterior pelvic tilt as I came up for a squat

To elaborate more there's a time and place for different personality traits. Most of the time it's finding a measured approach to things that isn't meek or too pushy. It's really a balance approach that will impress people I've found. Occasionally you back off some and occasionally you push hard.

I learned it from watching the higher ups in my company and respected people through out life. They didn't get to where they are by dumb luck. There's too many things that have to go right for them to end up where they do.

People attending school now unfortunately will have a much harder time than therapists like myself who graduated prior to the change to doctorate level work.

It's a lot. you can expect 5 days a week, 8 hours a day of coursework and then several hours of studying a night. They have made it significantly harder and is comparable to medical school now in many ways, just a smaller volume of information to memorize; However it's still gonna be rough which is why there's a shortage of therapists. The pay is good, not amazing, think around 70k to start and 100k~ after 10 years of experience but then it stops going up much. Doctors however have virtually unlimited gain after many years of experience which is why everyone tries to be a doctor, lol.

As for your back, it's possible it could be a herniated disc and its very important you see a physiatrist before you continue any lifting.

Injuries like that can be life ruining if you keep pushing it. It's one of the reasons i personally stopped heavy deadlifting and squatting. I've seen way too many former football players who are messed up or even over-eager athletes in general.

If you aren't training for something super specific like military or bodybuilding or powerlifting and are in the top 5% and it's MONEY to you, then drop the weight and drop the ego and use less weight. Long term it will make no difference to use super heavy vs moderate weights on your physique, provided you are going often and using proper form. The heavy weight will make you marginally stronger but it's at a huge cost.

yeah my gym sessions are done in my apartment complex gym, which is quiet and I'm usually alone. It's around 2.5 to 3 hours, 3 times a week with 30 minute cardio on off-days.
