Yeah thats the case. There were good things about the DDR, but it didn't work out well.

the biggest problem with the east probably were the tensions with the west, and the soviet's imperialism

Whenever I see one of these guys saying " hurdur east Germany was so great" . I wonder so if the people remembering the wall, the self-firing systems and remind all the people who died in the attempt to leave the GDR(DDR). At the Wall, the other border areas or with selfmade boats / surfboards over the sea.
