Pledging allegiance to a flag.
Can we talk about how fucked up this is? Like seriously, this is some North Korea type of brainwashing shit, not something a free nation should demand or encourage in any way, especially with kids.
Pledging allegiance to a flag.

GTFO of America
You really need to find some other shit to worry about, Ivan. Go try to find yourself a potato or something.
Fuck off ruskie
Our society is just as authoritarian as North Korea except punishments are carried out in the court of public opinion instead of law. Anyone who says otherwise is unpatriotic
then just don't, don't be a fag and make a big deal out of it, but you can quietly and respectfully simply not participate - depending on where you live anyway
I did this all through school, east coast then west coast US, and a few other kids gave me shit about it, but honestly teachers and everyone else seemed mostly ok with me being clearly uncomfortable with the idea (which seemed and still seems only rational to me)
It's not compulsory. You're not forced to pledge allegiance, and nobody can compel you to.
in NK you are required to rat out someone in your village or you will be punished. every single week.
Just be a nigger and kneel
America isn't a nation-state, and it's certainly not free. The pledge is a holdover from a time when one of those things was true and the other was more true.
To be honest though I find unthinking anti-patriotism to be distasteful. North Korea, a country that's done nothing to you or yours, is patriotic, so the residual elements of American patriotism are too? Seems silly.
are bad* too?
You realize you're not legally required to do it? Like, you have the choice of opting out if you wish.
Right. If your country is so great you shouldn't have to tell kids to stand up and repeat it every day
I know, I don't do it. But it's still kinda messed up that this kind of shit is taught to little kids when they're most receptive and you're shamed if you don't participate.
Funny, I got in trouble for refusing to do it. Schools have shit to do with what's legal, and everything to do with petty tyrants muh authority.
>implying indoctrinating the youth has never not been done by societies
Reminder that the Gang and Government are no different, but the Government is still better.
>shamed
Jesus fucking Christ, you need someone to hold your hand and tell you it's okay to say no when there are no consequences?
This.
Sounds gay to me user.
I don't consider the US to be great. I consider it an imperial, globohomo Leviathan that holds my nation and many others in bondage. But reinforcing national pride is hardly a bad thing. Sounds to me like you're a bourgeois 15 year old Jew who thinks it's edgy to say "fuck."
you're right, and it's not a good thing to indoctrinate into children (depending on your perspective, this surely serves a nationalist agenda well), but it's just one of many smaller cultural things like that and fairly harmless in and of itself
If it was up to me I'd kick your ass out of the country if you don't pledge allegiance to the United States. Go somewhere else
Other countries do this too, right?
I got shit for refusing to it as well.
Fucking crybabies.
Land of the free, right here.
Nor Kor! Nationalist Socialist Germany!
Don't like it, don't live in my country you invasive species.
>“To be clear, the student was NOT arrested for refusing to participate in the pledge; students are not required to participate in the pledge of allegiance.”
shit still sucks because of the absurd pressure from the teacher and all, but lil niglet pulled the racecard and acted like a fag about it
You don't have to do it, you peer pressured mongrel.
Actually how old are you OP? We stopped saying the pledge in middle school. Except in JROTC. And besides that, you sound like teenage me bitching about church.
Aren't you too young to be posting on Yea Forums?
Nazbol GANG, both based countries tbf
It's the land of petty authoritarians
Don't blame the country, blame the school system, specifically the "administrators" who think they're god
And also blame the cops, because any sane cop should have arrested the school administrators
Good thing you finally realize.
Also the pledge mentions god. State and religion should always stay saparated.
Socialist detected
There's nothing wrong with it in certain contexts, like sports competitions between different countries and national ceremonies
But making kids do that in school is a bit much, in my country we only did that during the dictatorship
Can someone give me one reason to teach kids to say the pledge? What's the use?
>inb4 you dont have to say it if you dont want to
No modern democracy i know of.
>some North Korea type of brainwashing shit
>hurr durr, teaching kids patriotism is stupid
fuckin' commie bastard
Be proud of your constitution
No lol
>commie
Ironically, swearing loyalty to your flag is a very communist sounding practice.
The leveled of triggered you are is all I needed to know. No wonder you support this. It all has to do with insecurities. If you didn't have those insecurities you wouldn't feel the need to make kids stand up and repeat what you want them to believe
Hey anons first insight. Everywhere you look is a form of brainwashing. From ads to church to patriotic nationalist traditions.
Oh boy. Delusional socialist.
Nationalism and patriotism is not left...
Nah, just an edgy teenager. I'm surprised though considering that this kind of "fuck the school maaan, they're like, Nazis mann" was out of fashion in my day, and I'm a 21 year old boomer.
Isn't this kinda shit pushed by the corporate media and therefore desperately uncool? Is OP a gen Xer trying to relive his days of fighting the Man?
I'm not mad at all, honestly. The only thing I feel is amused contempt. Is this what it feels like to be old?
You clearly don't see the harm in blind patriotism. Not distrusting the government early leads to NPCs dying for Israel early adulthood.
>THIS MAN FOUGHT IN A WAR SO U HAVE FREEDOM! NOW GIVE THAT FREEDOM BACK TO HIM AS A SIGN OF RESPECT! U R NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE THE RIGHT TO DISRESPECT A PIECE OF CLOTH
The one year between us is not that exiting
youtube.com
i actually love this. it was a great episode. fuck miley, she's trash, but i loved it. you kids are too young to have had to hang out in your friend's girlfriend's room and smoke weed in 1997 and she put on the first "nine inch nails" album. that's why you think it's lame to twist the song, as if you can judge it. also, you totally missed the "child's play" theme because you're too young. "that's why you're still kids; because you're stupid." - "itchy and scratchy and poochy"
National pride is usually a bad thing. It's the visors that make you overlook the negatives.
The pledge is just stupid, making it once as an adult is like "cool you like the country enough to swear you'll always help out"
Making children who dont even know what they're saying do it every morning is just retarded, they're just hoping drilling it in will make people believe in it
I'm totally fine with singing the national anthem at international sporting events. I have nothing against celebrating your independence day. I'm even okay with military conscription to a certain degree if it's really necessary.
But teaching little kids to stand up and swear loyalty to your state is maybe a bit too much for my taste.
It's certainly less annoying than the converse. If we could leverage it into something other than dying for Israel it'd even be good.
Dude, you're not twenty. The things you care about are the things I cared about when I was 13 and thought Bart Simpson was really cool. Be serious.
Gonna have to disagree. National pride is what makes you want to make your nation better and more prosperous.
Your brain isn't even fully developed. And it shows. Worrying about whats cool and uncool instead of why. Cringe
leftards can't meme
One of the proudest moments of my short time parenting so far was about a year ago I was listening to my 6 year old son play, half his action figures where the government, they were trying to steal from the other action figures and he had an uprising with his civilian toys and they took over. I asked him when he was done who would lead the new toy government and he said they would lead it themselves. TFW my kid understands the system is fucked better than most adults. He's almost 8 now, he told me he hates Donald Trump's but thinks he should probably win again because all the other people running are worse. You absolutely have to teach them at a young age to trust no one, never believe in the system.
How could we possibly teach children national pride and respect for the country they live in. I mean good God next we'll be giving them rifles and have a child soldier army
stupid motherfucker
they are not forced to do it, supid libtard
>never believe in the system
We needed that tinfoil for cooking user. Stop wasting it.
Some of us are still normal enough to remember to maintain social norms
OP is a designated hippie.
>How could we possibly teach children national pride and respect for the country they live in
If you have a great country to live in, you don't need to force kids to say it every day. Other countries don't do it, why should the US?
>fuck off russians
Disgusting amerimutts itt.
Kill yourselves you subhumans.
You have nothing to be proud of you amerimutt subhuman. You are degenerates who should be exterminated from this world.
No wonder western countries are going downhill so fast when they're full of fucking losers who are too pussy to actually stand up for themselves
Oh I admit I'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist, nothing too Alex jonesy. My wife is borderline Boomer tier conservative even though she's only 27, so the kids get a mix of ideas though and can form their own political opinions
No one is forcing anyone to do anything? Several anons have said that they opt to not participate and it seems like they had no fallout due to the fact. Knowing your national anthem isn't a bad thing. Knowing the Star Spangled Banner isn't a bad thing. Why is it bad to pledge for a nation that should be indivisible, that should be carried on notions of liberty and fair justice? I really don't know what your issue is with any of it.
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Who let the Europoor in.
>Europeans acting like they are superior while getting a train run on them by every mohammad in a 50 mile radius
Yeah, nationalist pride is cool in bits, but it's a tribal ideology, and is used to take advantage of the citizens, whom are usually misinformed through purposeful disinformation. It serves to reinforce authority.
What's wrong with pledging allegiance to a country you are a citizen of? America is both fair and just as such everyone can freely attempt to make course corrections to the overall direction of the country.
Alex Jones is one of the few media personalities that speak the truth. Listen to him for just a few minutes and you can tell that his brain is free from chemtrail contamination. From the first time I listened to Jones and Infowars, the width of my skull has grown so much. I now measure it every few weeks, each time it is noticibly larger in circumference. I credit this incredible bone growth to Alex Jones' MALE VITALITY supplements. His advice to only breathe through your left nostril also increased my bone growth. Soon I hope my brain will be large enough so I can personally help Jones create an action plan to destroy all liberal media outlets, therefore ending the deepstate influence by magicians and vampires from the inside out. I love Alex Jones and I love Infowars.
>even though she's only 27
My politics lie far outside the mainstream at this point, so I can't care that much. It's more that I'm trying to get into OP's mind, because he's either underage or wishes to go back to his time of being underage and fighting the power (read: his mom making him go to Sunday school).
This whole shit is surreal because no one cares about that shit once they graduate but OP claims to be 20, lol.
Liberals like you are ruining our country, God Bless the USA
>blind loyalty to the state is the same as standing up for yourself
>it's a tribal ideology
>we're all just cavemen at the end of the day
This is someone trying to sound smart.
Authority isn't a bad thing and neither is drawing an ingroup/outgroup distinction though
Nobody gave you a word you swarthy vermin.
I live in Eastern Europe. There are no niggers and we are actually white unlike Americans.
What does it matter, you're too much of a faggot to do either
What a great argument.
I wish I could be red like Alex Jones. But I can't afford Male Vitality cause a gay immigrant liberal took my job at the Tostitos plant
Nice, that introduction into psychology is paying off. Those social norms and worrying about what your peers think will keep you an npc.
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>BEHOLD MY UNCUT COCK AND TREMBLE AT ITS SMELL
Or ya know. I'll have a social life and friends. Do you remember what that's like you hermit like individual you?
It was invented by a communist
All European countries are not Sweden or Germany. I like up north and I've never even seen a single black or brown person.
Don't like your country? Move.
Try washing your dick then you won't have to mutilate it.
Why are americans so stupid?
Instead of trying to make it better? That's the Syrian refugee mentality right there.
>Insert buzzword here
Still buying into the conspiracy disinformation means you have no clue about money and politics.
maybe you should cut your dick off entirely if you can't keep it clean without surgery
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>MY DICK IS CLEAN
>YOURS ISN'T
>EUROPEAN MASTER RACE REPORTING
You're a walking parody kek
Bringing up circumcision is the easiest bait. And you two are just diving at it. For shame.
Good on you. Kids gonna have a leg up with a good bullshit detector. Don't fail him by telling him santa and god exist.
Good luck trying to explain that to 90% of the retards here. They think they should be handed everything with no return whatsoever
show me 1 single piece of evidence that supports this
>it's not a conspiracy theory if my echo chamber says it's not
Who's baiting who here? Or are you all just retards?
Not an argument.
Does your house still have lead piping?
>these people mocking me totally took my bait
You gottem champ.
>eastern europe
>heavy influence from Ottoman and Asian culture
retard.
Not even that user, just a bystander trying to make sense of that.
There's nothing wrong with inspiring nationalism in the youth of your country OP. Have some pride in the country that gives you so many options and wealth that you can actually find time to contemplate if kids should be talking to a flag. You're lucky you don't live in a country where idiots like you can do anything. If the world was ran efficiently people like you wouldn't have time to do anything except work in a factory and go home to your portion of grain and water. Instead you live in a free country where even low intelligent creatures like you can think over issues like the youth of your nation being taught how great their country is and if it is a good thing, as if it is something that should even be thought. Thank God and your country you live in a country that cradles the weak. You are fortunate
Tell me when did Ottomans influence Baltic states?
You're doing a lot of implying right now, at least I've deduced you're a moron with evidence from your posts, but you have no idea if I'm swimming in pussy or not. You're shit posting unintentionally.
>hurr durr I'm just pretending to be retarded xd
No you're actually that retarded.
Have you ever been to Eastern Europe? Most countries there may be total shitholes but you won't find more whiter nations anywhere.
>I've used my Sherlock Holmes level deduction skills to figure out everything about you
>soon I will teleport behind you with my katana bloodstorm
>nothin personal kid
It's not a conspiracy theory if it's based in tangible evidence. Which I choose to not overlook intentionally because of the implications.
Can't you read? Or are just here to call other people retard to make yourself feel better?
Not an argument. Someone's lacking in world history.
>I'm just such a galaxy brain doncha know
Oh he's crazy and self important. Wonderful.
Haha memes.
Yeah its better when they take big black cocks up their ass right
I agree, my wife is super traditional and Christian, and she wanted to tell them Santa and Easter Bunny and all that was real, it was one the very few times we disagreed, I put my foot down on it though, I won't lie to my kids, as far as religion goes, we just explained it like it is, some people believe this some that, we explained that my wife is a Christian, and I explained whatever the hell it is I actually believe but mostly it's that a find spirituality in nature, I don't so much believe in a god as a figure but as a force in the world, we also explained using people they like and spend time with some people believe nothing, it was the best way in my opinion for them to form their own beliefs. Parenting is confusing sometimes, their is no manual on how to do it right, and if there was it would probably just be Jewish propaganda anyways so I just do the best I can with what feels right
I've had time to do understand why some people just refuse to examine evidence right in front of them. It's just easier to strawman instead of basing an opinion on unbias information I guess. Guess I'm just a fucking genius.
>Implying nationalism and love for your country and it's people is bad
Fuck off commie
Let me guess, you're a "social democrat", right?
You can choose whether or not to do it but everyone will still look at you and want you dead for being a piece of shit worthless for not standing for your country in a world where peace will never exist and we must continue to be the greatest country in the world to keep dominance. Way to be a little bitch. God Bless Trump
>you just don't get it man
>if you were as smart as me you'd see
Sure man. Tell me all about your flat earth and Mars canals. You'll change my mind I'm sure.
Can't tell if this is elaborate bait.
Wait, this is actually still dome in the us?
I assumed it's a meme
I don't believe in flat earth or ufos or big foot. Just elaborate schemes by the government to gain control and influence wars. Is that so wrong? I mean at least there's overwhelming evidence.
Don't let your memes be dreams
Fair enough kek
Proof that liberals are anti-American
No bait, I'm half autistic so I'm not sure what I said that would be seen as bait.
It is indeed very strange.
If that was something they did in Russia for instance, then the people here in the US would say how odd of a practice it is.
Unfortunately people are biased fuckheads.
There would be no one left in the entire country if this was true dumbfuck.
NK is bad enough without having to lie about it.
Your parents wasted their time at work to feed you, clothe you, shelter you and educate you. Before them there were their parents and so on. Your ancestors braved difficulties, endured hardships, they fought and died so you can be free. They gave you infrastructure, rights and opportunities. Your country, your flag, is their legacy and their gift to you. People should cherish their nations and respect their flags.
Idk, seems like what you’re saying is the type of ignorant shit an uninformed dipshit z-millennial would say from their vast reserve of infinite knowledge and life experience. Of course, you are the first to discover the rather nationalist nature of reciting a pledge of allegiance. It couldn’t possibly be a leftover practice from the Cold War to teach young people a little national pride. That way you couldn’t possibly be unaware of the fact that the US fuckin Constitution excludes the rights of children from 1st amendment protection while in school, which totally invalidates the opinion of some left-wing soyboy who doesn’t like the fact that not everything is meant to be understood by everyone.
Cool story bro.
You're just pissed off because you don't live here.
You don’t strike me as someone familiar with the history of the United States. The pledge of allegiance was written in 1892 my dude, it’s meant to evoke national pride. The only point of contention was when Eisenhower added the words, Under God, in 1954 in response to communism. So by it’s very nature, it is the antithesis of the meaning you derive by implying that it’s brainwashing. Pledging allegiance to one’s flag and nation is the very least that should be expected of its citizens. It’s when you take away a persons pride for their nation and replace the flag with a person that you get shit like communism.
It's a flag. It ain't gonna help you when some school shooter comes in and goes wild. You don't have to suck the flag's dick.
If your country is really that great you wouldn't have to do this.
Imagine being this mad.
Literally the opposite
If you don't inculcate kids with patriotism from a young age you get Orwellian Bohemian shitholes like Europe where they love surveillance and wanna ban their own national symbols in order to cater to all the Africans they import.
The parts of America that are the least patriotic are the shitholes like majority minority cities where they have shit on the streets and the #1 employment path is drug dealing.
It sounds like a big insecurity to me. If you're too afraid children not repeating what you want them to believe every day, you need to go to some fascist wonderland
Imagine not having a reply to that post.
>I pledge allegiance
>to the flag
>of the United States Belonging to isreal
>and for the tribe for which it fights
>one people
>chosen by god
>unquestionable
>to rule over and be superior to all
It's an idea, you child.
I hate more that kids have to wake up around 6 to 8 AM.They should start school at 11 or 12.And make it shorter like 5 hours.Sometimes I use to spend more time in school then i did sleeping.
Come on, you know that's not true. I don't know what place you're specifically referring to, but America is the only country I know that does that kind of stuff. That doesn't mean other countries aren't patriotic.
And if you live in American, it's really weird to shame other countries for loving surveillance, considering your government keeps constant tabs on pretty much everything you do.
In mexico. They don't do it but they constantly have parades where they sign the mexican Anthem. We should do that instead.
That idea ain't gonna stop those bullets either. Stop sucking flag dick, bro.
ITT people who have been brainwashed into pledging allegiance defend the concept of pledging allegiance. Not too surprising, really.
My family didn't do jack shit and im still miserable.
ITT: faggots who hate America and its culture because it hurts they feefees
>Praying to a flag is culture
Alright buddy
Fuck off jew
>Praying
>Pledging allegiance
Not the same
We don't have to do it
You're free to leave America also.
"Liked"
>Thinking you're not praying to a fucking flag.
They got you hard, buddy. they got you real hard.
Imagine being so vain that you think someone is angry with you as a function of insulting you.
>not standing for the pledge in the USA
*FROWNED UPON*
in North Korea you go to a concentration camp till you die.
I'd hardly lump encouraging patriotism in the USA to brainwashing in North Korea... but whatever fits your plantation narrative.
What a naive standpoint.
It is. Americans are basically English whose social and emotional development was arrested around 1790 or so.
Actually, no, there's a $2450 "user fee" to renounce citizenship, and plenty of extraterritorial arrogance that means almost nobody on the Earth is free from the imposition of USA law.
Says pledging to the U.S flag is like NK brainwashing. “Hates America Because Of Brainwashing”
>Britain has evolved emotionally and socially since 1790
Oh god I want off this train
You could make yourself a great career as a Western journalist.
>implying implications
I should have stated that Britain's gone senile since then and has enjoyed only fleeting moments of lucidity since Maggie and Tony fucked the country up for neoliberalism.
That's weird, don't remember my entire family down to future generations being imprisoned and publicly executed for minor offenses. Try harder, pinko.
Of course. That country still gets my vote for favorite tits though
Does it make you feel accepted and special to allow yourself to be manipulated by the bourgeoisie's false narratives?
Fun facts about the Pledge of Allegiance:
- Written by a socialist in 1892 because he worried about the lack of patriotism in the US in the decades following the Civil War.
- Not adopted by Congress until 1942.
- The words "under God" are not original. They were added in 1954.
