Hey guys. Does anyone have some old/spare computer parts they don't need? I'm jobless neat with an old PC. It's starting to fail on me, especially the processor. I would take anything you have, I can offer anything in return other than a unique perspective on some problems in your life.

im neet too, but try seeing if your local library or schools have any old tech lying around. I've salvaged some nice pcs that were being thrown out but my local Highschool. Contact the IT guy, theyll know.

Lol

get off the computer & get a job bitch

What do you mean 'fail on me'? List specs. Explain situation.

No. I had to earn what i jave. Why dont you get off your ass and do the same. Id rather let my dog chew on my old 1050i than just hand it to someone who thinks they deserve or should get it. Also you lable yourself so proudly as a NEET and a loser so why? What is me giving you shit going to help. Heres some help, go get a job or do something with yourself

I have AMD 8120
It's not the worst processor but it overheats like crazy. I know it's not a problem with the processor itself but I also have the default radiator with it

* AMD FX-8120

Tons of old shit on eBay. Kind of sad to see all those once-great graphics cards unwanted and destined for scrap.

>AMD FX-8120
You're just being a whiney bitch. Is it actually overheating? Did you clean up the dust from the computer? How do you know it's actually overheating? That's a plenty fast processor for a poorfag. this is coming from someone using a Core 2 Duo T7250 as a main computer... (Dell D630 laptop)

What motherboard do you have it paired with? If you're certain it's overheating, underclock or limit its clocks either through the bios or through software. If it's still crashing, it could be caused by something else like a bad computer power supply, motherboard, software issues or even, best part, bad hdd.

How did you diagnose this issue exactly?

I found a Toshiba laptop but it doesn't have the power cord.

i got a dual core xeon pc for free to anyone local. this shit got a built in speaker and a 20 gb ide hard drive you dont want to miss out. dont think it even runs xp. cant remember.

Did you just call yourself a "neat?" Holy fuck, dude. You're beyond reproach.
If you want to be a better person in any way whatsoever, you need to at least learn to speak your native language.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's the processor itself. I have been having this problem for years now. Every day of a summer I need to monitor the heat just to not bust my pc. I think it's set up in bios to cut the power at 80 Celsius and trust me it's always at around 70 even in winter. I don't remember what motherboard i have but it shouldn't be an issue. Also wanna hear something crazy? I have a full big ol' fan just for pc that I always use to keep the processor from overheating. Always, every time the pc is on. And yes I clean my pc every few months. Plus, I've change the termo paste few times

*neet
English is not my native language

I miss it so much... I remember the smell of my 1st PC. And yes, I was younger...

Okay, I'll take it back somewhat. But NEET is a very common acronym in English. Just try to figure it out before using it.

NEET = Not in Education, Employment, or Training

Begging on Yea Forums. b&

This is me.

I'm down with this guy, though. The begging is something we should stop giving attention to. Last reply, here.

That processor will always run hot. Just how it is.

But honestly they'll take that heat just fine.

I know, I just made a mistake

No problem, man.
As someone who is looking to learn other languages, I don't fault you. Japanese people in particular try to make me feel like shit when I don't say things properly.

80C is quite high. Maybe you should limit the clock speeds. In windows 7+ in power options ->plan settings -> Advanced power settings -> processor power management -> maximum processor state, change it from 100% to 99% or some other lower increment.

Even at 80% which is quite a bit of limiting, the computer should still be quite usable. I have no idea why the computer is overheating.

Is this a prebuilt machine? Or custom build?

vortez.net/articles_pages/amd_bulldozer_fx_8120_review,6.html

Holy shit, this processor uses 125watts at idle and 305 watts under load. This is a really hugely power sucking processor! If this is a custom built machine, my guess would be one of the following:

Guy used an aftermarket cooler which is WORSE than the stock cooler.

Guy used a substandard powersuppply

Guy has a substandard motherboard

Guy can't apply thermal paste if his life depended on it

Motherboard is failing due to bad capacitors

any other failures that aren't specifically the fault of the builder.

If this is a pre-built machine from the likes of dell or HP, could be insufficient case cooling, or some other failure. Regardless, OP needs to do some CPU speed limiting because obviously some component in that system can't handle that load.

I'm basically 100% sure that your case is your problem at this point.

There are a lot of factors that come into play, but given the information that you've provided, it seems like you just don't have enough airflow.

People talk a whole lot about their fans and their cooling systems without taking into account the fact that their case isn't allowing for that airflow. Your case is a big fucking deal. Make sure that your case is allowing outward heat to be dissipated.

i have the same cpu running at 4.2 with a chinese heatsink
max heat reading its 60
and i read on the internet that this 60c its the limit for this current proccessor, yours cant be 70,it just cant
mess with the cpu settings
do you you a gigabyte motherboard by any chance?
i changed the northbridge heatsink in mine and runs way better, bought it for 10 euros on alliexpress

Actually 79w and 190 load, I was reading the OC numbers. Regardless, that's still a tremendous amount of heat.

I'm a neat too!

thanks, I'll check it later.
Yes it was a custom build made by some local IT guy
I have my case open from both sides
I think it's a stock cooler. I don't remember exactly

Will you come and pickup my old Pentium 2 400mhz 64mb ram voodoo 2 gfx card computer? If not then forget it

Yeah, could be numerous different at fault components. easiest solution is to limit clock speed.

Check the electrolytic capacitors and make sure they're not bulging/leaking. If this problem presented itself when the machine was first built, would speak to the low or insufficient quality components like the power supply.

power supply is corsair VS550
I think the processor isn't overclocked tbh

pure boy

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1360x768, 212K)

reduce the vcore of the cpu in the bios settings

>VS550
loool. A 550w power supply with a nearly 200 watt CPU? are you fucking kidding me? Unless it's being run in an IGPU configuration, that's not enough power just for the CPU, let alone the fans, motherboard, drives, and best of all, GPU. Also that could be a bad PSU even though corsair used to make good stuff, I think they had a string of bad PSU. Also if that PSU was from the Pentium 4 era, the CPU power rail wouldn't be sufficient enough to supply all the power the CPU would need since the rails weren't balanced in that way.

IT guy who built that rig is an idiot.

550 watt its enough retard
it even supplies the 8pin cpu rail

search for microsoft certified refurbished office models on walmart.com. i'll find one for you.

walmart.com/ip/Refurbished-HP-8200-Desktop-PC-with-Intel-Core-i5-Processor-8GB-Memory-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-Windows-10-Pro-Monitor-Not-Included/43919991

this is fucking great for 183 bucks. when i got one, it was SO clean... zero dust inside. these machines are barely used, they come from boring offices that ended their lease.

i didn't get THIS one, in fact this one makes mine look like shit but i only use it for school as a separate office machine. still, refurbished just means they replaced a drive or ram or something. still clean as fuck.

Shut your dribbling dickmouth

I think it's enough for my current set up
Thanks, but I own no money
nice, I see

I have 20+ dual-core or better laptops just sitting in my basement on some shelf. So far you havent shown to be someone worth helping.

Well, I may be not he best guy there is but sure thing I'm not a liar

I got all sorts of pc parts to not bad to shit but in germany so who knows where you like op

Do you like going through other people's old PCs? Ever found something interesting, illegal, funny...?

he is a lazy bum who i s trying collect it for scrap
old expansion cards and motherboards have similar prices as copper at recycling places

CPUs and ram memory module have even better price

I did at college once, girl in class needed a PC and older bros came into play (lived together). Got it all hooked up, logged into non-password admin account. She took the wheel and we patched and installed some shit. She found a video. Double clicked. Gay porn. My only response was "Well that explains the lisp". She was not pleased by the whole thing.

Attached: 1556859083712.jpg (840x472, 37K)

Yes, I found some vacation fotos from an old fat dude. He also had some lame downloaded pictures, like meme but for boomers.

Fucking kek. So whose porn was it? I don't get the lisp part, also

where?

It was her brothers, he was gay as you can make it but didnt tell her. I could tell from his speech as gaydar was warning me from other interactions. She had absolutely no clue he was gay.

The HDD was from a flea market in Scandinavia around 10 years ago, nothing interesting really, but snooping around in others personal stuff is fun if you are bored.
A windows password is easy to bypass and does nothing unless the HDD is encrypted.

Fucking kek. What a stupid faggot. Coming out that way, must be pathetic.

Yeah, it has a curious touch. You never know what's gonna be there. People store all sorts of things in their PCs, external hardwares... And some don't even care to put a password on them!
