i had to look at my youtube 'trailers: seen & loved' list, gonna revisit it. still posting.

as a kid it blew my mind, but after all the commentary about it pretentiousness it only has nostalgic value for me. its a good one though

Attached: under-the-skin-italian-movie-poster.jpg (500x714, 68K)

Incredible movie.

underrated

actually havent seen the original but the clooney version is good

Love space movies too. Also added to the list. Thanks user. Heading to the used dvd place in a bit looking for ideas

Attached: gr.jpg (1000x1426, 350K)

for sure. i save lists for a place called Book Off that i hit up on my lunch breaks and do the same shit to kill time

oh dude!: check out Sunshine! top of my sci fi list!

Attached: 41TfPwGLepL.jpg (337x500, 24K)

Word. This place is insane. All dvds are $2 and it’s like a small store in itself.

Mandy is legit awesome, best role for Cage in a while. A must see for horror fans.

hell yea Yea Forumsro added to the list. Thanks!

not sure if text-book 'thriller"

Attached: fierce-people-german-poster.jpg (500x707, 73K)

and the games! my gf and i were late to the borderlands 2 world and bought it for $1.99, on our second playthrough co op and its the best 2 bux ive ever spent!

Mandy is a legit awesome movie, nick cage killed it in his role.

Bruh you’d love this place. About 60-80, 80s and 90s arcade games. All a quarter each play. Place is lit up on the weekends.

this ones pretty obvious and borders on 'action'

Attached: tWbiSZW.jpg (350x519, 53K)

I go to Eighty Two bar in Korea-Town LA sometimes, we also have Nickel Nickel in New Port Beach, were the arcades take nickels and all the 'vintage alley' is free

*82 is a Barcade with vintage arcades and super streetfighter 2 is projected up on the walls and it gets a crowd of drunken shouting. its awesome

That’s badass. Sounds like a good time. This place is in good old Springfield Ohio

and it’s for retards

its good to know the midwest has some stuff; i plan on moving back in the next few years, CA has cool shit but its not sustainable, financially, for most people, including me

its was alright, if you look at it like an action movie with a little more, just like Looper; ive seen works. but feel free to contribute cause im shootin blanks here, bro

Wanted to like this but it felt like it ended just before it got interesting.

This nigga knows what's up.

alright, goin a little further back:

Attached: DELIVERANCE_B_l.jpg (1280x1280, 185K)

this movie is actually trash

im goin through a period-piece phase lately revisiting Rob Roy tonight. not too many suspense though, mostly dramas

points for surprising historical accuracy of recorded accounts during the building of that bridge, doh

my negro, that's the film that got me into the genre

Bruh...the ending. Its like those old scream vids from 2004 - 2006. the type of ending you watch and wait for friends and families reactions to it like

Mandy

probably one of my favorite flicks, and though its a thriller, technically, its more of a noir/detective/gangster flick.

Attached: 0024543215417_p0_v3_s1200x630.jpg (276x396, 33K)

i love david lynch, but i think he holds up his work too much on symbolism/metaphor/obscurity to stay in the grey area of criticism. ya know, back then people didn't wanna seem like they 'didn't get it', sorta thing. thats my take

Is that Trump?

amazing editing work! this was nolans first film, right, or following?

good one. the new suspiria was kind of cool.

Dope movie underrated

Not sure it really fits the thread but agreed that it's a great movie.

*having never seen the original

that's what im sayin; they sell it as a thriller, but i dont think it is either

surprised nobody posted it yet

Attached: bestfilminthread.jpg (960x1440, 318K)

He tries too hard to be edgy imo, and uses cheap filming methods to do it, like all the fast moving fucked up images.

Nah it was Following. Still never saw that film. Memento was amazing though. Within my top 5 movies

Hell yes

Attached: 71WULI8xNrL._RI_SX300_.jpg (300x400, 24K)

actually deleted it from my 'trailers: to watch' list cause i listened to reviews like an ass hole. al the best flicks got bad reviews when they came out. The Thing, Alien, fuk even Bladerunner.

the Radiohead of suspense? it goes without saying.

The remake is definitely inferior but is watchable thanks to Sean Bean being in it.

holy shit...i just watched the trailer. hell yea! also, it has Gaius Julius Cesar from Rome, and the pervert from Happiness.

Attached: maxresdefault (1).jpg (1280x720, 90K)

good movie

fuck yea, the scene where cary ann mosse tells him his wife sucked too many diseased cocks?! intense

Im still mad they made a sequel to this movie that made no sense and killed of the main character from the original within like 15 minues.

Get Out is a fucking comedy movie and I refuse to believe otherwise.

OP here, trailer looks intense. Added to my list! Thanks

Yeah, and Jake Busey is nowhere near as good a villain as Rutger Hauer.

thomas the tank engine and the magic railroad

it's on the border of how much...culture...i like in my films, but the mood/tone was had the feel i usually look for in a flick

Hauer and Busey in the same sentence, LMFAO

yeah it's great. has a little bit of everything.

this count?

I thought of adding this one too. Didnt like the ending though. My theory one the ending was better than what they ended up doing, though they hinted at it

top 10, easy:

what about this dusty ass gem:

top 20:

Amazing stuff!

Better than Beyond the Black Rainbow, but that one's good as well.

couldn't finish beyond the black rainbow; didn't give it a chance and killed it after 20 min, but i heard its good

some might call this mainstream, but it's a great one

It's REALLY slow, so if you're not in the mood for all the weird shit going on, probably not the right time to watch it.

Not sure if this is really a thriller, but kinda.

I figured that the guy hired to interview the android was an android all along and the true test was seeing if you can truly get an android to believe 100% they are human. So they were putting him in situations to test his knowledge of every human emotion. Fear, anger, happiness, and most importantly, love.

I thought my theory was confirmed when the android cut the power and told him to escape(or something along those lines, can’t remember). I just didnt like how they went with the old “evil creator killed by his own creations” trope.

Attached: IMG_1155.jpg (400x600, 134K)

ok, just watched the trailer, and it looks badass, but its supernatural horror, not thriller. still gonna check it out though

almost any Alfred Hitchcock movie, theyre pretty old but theyre surprising well done

Another classic

Attached: IMG_1156.jpg (1300x1733, 293K)

Yeah. But it kinda falls apart for me at the end. Some things just dont make sense and just seem really really convenient.

i can get on board with that. i agree that the ending was weak as hell, but the tension was palpable, thats what i really take away from thrillers. mystery and drama i care more about the resolution of the story.

there is a feeling of 'way too convenient' throughout the film, and that did really bother me, but the lead up to the chaos, man, Fincher really courted his audience; that suspense in in the estate foyer with the puppet and tv was perfect

Attached: CureforWellnessOfficialPoster.jpg (220x326, 27K)

This movie seemed like it took a few ideas from Shutter Island. Is that true?

great visuals, and Mia Goth is fukkin diamonds/buckets, but it feels too much like a video game or music video, maybe super scripted feeling or something. i remember being fukkin jazzed to see it too

There are similarities, definitely. Not in a way that ruins the movie though.
I feel like a lot of that was intentional, but yeah, I understand the feeling. I do like that stuff if executed right though.

"goood answer"

thoughts?

Vertigo and Psycho are two of the best movies ever made! Kim Novak could have sucked me off anytime

fucked up but great movie. the actor who played the older kevin isn't that bad looking either

True Detective seasons 1 & 3 should fit in here, despite being series. They're self contained, so two big movies. ;)

Attached: true-detective-2.jpg (2700x1800, 527K)

>thriller
yes

>psychological
no

that scene where they hand over the gun though....

For some reason that was called "The Asylum" when I saw it, but good nonetheless.

Man how could i forget about True Detective. Season 3 was great. Not as masterful as Season 1, but damn good.

Do fast moving fucked up images make you uncomfortable? Working as intended
I dont think hes much better than the average director but his movies are... fine? I dont know the correct word.
Hipsters love to hate his work.

Yes thats what got me in the middle. Because its just as chaotic for the protagonist as it is for you the viewer. But at the end it jst suddenly fall flat and the flaws really get noticeable. Still a good watch but I think it could have had a cleaner final act.

how the mutha-luvin fuck did this fly under my radar...? just watched the trailer and wow

Does this qualify?

Attached: 71xk4tmnVVL._SY606_.jpg (412x606, 37K)

Yea lol. No one talks about this movie. Very underrated.

Go ahead and watch the Hannibal series as well.

i keep forgetting that part, in fact ive only been thinking of thrillers up to just now

I remember really enjoying this over 20 years ago. maybe I will rewatch. ty

i liked The Ring and The Weather Man, kinda. i get the weather man confused with punch drunk love in my head.

I actually did. I made it to the middle of season 1 and stopped. It was really good. Been meaning to finish it.

To be honest, it doesn't really get interesting until after that point. Kind of feels like a "catch this weeks killer"-show, but keep watching.

Supernatural but still has psychological elements to it. One of the few movies I LOVED as a teenager and still holds up to this day.

This was a good one.

people say this sucks next to the french(?) original. this is the version i saw as a kid and i thought it was great
