Dear Yea Forums, anybody on this board ever been homeless? If so, tell me the best, and worst of this experience.

I was homeless but got into a hostel and was nearly beaten to death. Was choking on my own vomit.
OP here, why were you attacked?
/out/ usually has a homeless thread up. havent seen one in a couple of weeks, maybe post there.
surprisingly a lot of homeless post in the thread there, good place to get advice.
my advice is either,
>couchsurf as much as you can
>if you have a car, spend $20 on a gym membership (for showers/shitting) and park in a walmart parking lot to sleep
>stay in a hostel for a couple of weeks if you still have some money
then shower, shave, clean yourself up, hit the streets and get a job. usually you can get a job in 2-3 days in any town if you know what you're doing. jobs like housekeeping, janitor, dishwasher in a restaurant are easy ones to get into; they just want someone who'll work hard, wont complain and get the job done.
work that for a few weeks until you're back on your feet then start keeping a look out for a job upgrade.
I have. It was just boring and nothing happened other than being miserable and without a home.
I was homeless for 2 weeks.
Not long enough of an experience to break me or do any damage but Ive experienced it.
>best part
Im a tech junky, so honestly it was nice to wander the city when I was off work. I dont do a whole lot of exploring and every day I was seeing new things.
>Worst
Cold at night, I was in a new city and hung around what I didnt know was a shady area. From what I understand now about this area it is absolutely amazing I didn't have any fights. Lots of natives who are not fans of teh whites around there.
I once read an article by a guy who was homeless for a long time before getting back on his feet. He said the worst part is boredom, and he says thats why theres such a drug and alcohol problem with the homeless. There is just balls all to do.
And despite what I said in the first part, I can see it. By the end of it I was getting pretty tired of walking and spending hours sitting on curbs and benches.
I probably would have lost my mind if I didnt get out when I did. But I found a place to live and all was well.
Dunno just assholes I guess. Didn’t want to be on my own on a Saturday night and tried to make friends with the dudes in the next room, think they drugged me and beat me up to steal my shit.
Not yet, but I’m on the verge of going homeless in about a couple days
Think they were druggies
What city are you in?
