How many languages do you speak?
How many languages do you speak?
none
only the language of love.
3 and 1/4
Engles and espanish
Iam also american citizen and chilean citizen
And just 18yo
Latin, german, french, english, spanish, dutch, Japanse and a little polish. Starting with Russian in September.
i cant comprehend how people speak so many languages.
if someone on the street just walks up to you and starts asking you a question that isnt in your native language, what is that like? do you automatically understand them or does it take a second to like "switch" to that language?
>Can't speak English
>Chilean
Can't speak Spanish either then
wena weon
human
kek
Wena perro
Three. English polish japanese
Depends on how used to using that language you are. For me when I switch to a different language other than my own native one I first switch to English before switching to the other. But that's only due to the fact of how much I communicate in English on a daily basis.
Don't know how it is for other people, but the switch is as easy as thinking it
One, American
Georgian, English and Russian
damn. sometimes i feel like im missing out by only knowing english. seems almost a bit freaky to me.
what language do you dream in? ive read from other people that it depends on where they are living basically; what language is being spoken in the area they are in determines what they dream in or somethin
it's bait, you idiot. someone who spoke that many languages would not be going on the autistic cancer hole known as Yea Forums
English, Portuguese and by extension I have a grasp on Spanish, and a little bit of French and German
English, obviously, enough Spanish to pass, and I can communicate roughly with a redditor using various props and thing that jingle, keys for example
I've dreamt in 2 languages other than my mother tongue. But still dreaming is pretty much your brain playing back your day in fast forward, so that's overrated.
But yeah, you're missing out. You should try learning another language, pick one that you feel attracted to and get to it!
english, spanish, and learning german
Cefr levels of each language?
im 31 now, learnin new things takes time and im tired as hell after work. i also have a lisp so its hard for me to pronounce things that are not of the same accent of where im from
Dude, fuck your age, seriously, you can learn any language regardless of your age as long as you have a functioning brain. Also fuck your lisp too, knowing how to speak a languages involves many skills, pronouncing is only one of them. Perfect pronounciation is also overrated
Spanish (also valencian, a local dialect)
English (also Yea Forums's autist, sperg and faggot dialects)
Fluently? English. I'm conversational in French, but I can read it fine. I can read Spanish and Italian more or less because I studied Latin. Studied Greek (5th century bc attic Greek, for all you classical philatelists in the room) and German, but that was a long time ago and it would take time to come back.
I studied formal linguistics, so I know the fundamentals of more than a few weird ones, but I couldnt use those to actually talk to anyone.
Tl;dr linguistics major and classical philatelist is sometimes passable at English, French.
I can speak Valencian too. Socarrat, paella, chufa, boom, horchata, boom, rakatakatakata
How does it feel it not knowing how to spell your major?
>boom
>boom
>ratakatakatakataka
You truly speak native valencian, friend, enjoy you mascleta
4
what would you suggest for picking a language? the most spoken in my area? another criteria?
Yeah, the one that attracts you the most. If you force yourself to study something you don't like, you won't stick with it for too long.
What languages are you interested in?
english, german, french and ancient greek
Same, English, Australian, American and Canadian
>If you force yourself to study something you don't like, you won't stick with it for too long.
kinda an issue. i live in a city that is 90% hispanic; im native american and i look hispanic so everyone speaks to me in spanish. its bugged the shit out of me my entire life so ive developed like an irrational annoyance of that language.
dunno if i have an interest in any language in particular. french sounds very pretty, so does german. though ive read german is one of the hardest languages to learn
And a little bit of Canadian
As an English speaker, German should be relatively easy for you. French kinda too, since English has a lot of French borrowings.
Spanish could be good, if you find it in your heart to turn your annoyance around and use your environment to practice Spanish.
Esperanto is fun and very easy too. It's been also proven that it helps with learning other languages
>Esperanto
thats pretty neat, never heard of that before.
well ill definitely look into it, dunno about spanish though. a close friend speaks german so that seems like maybe a better path for me, even if i dont get to practice speaking it as much. might still be fun to learn the syntax and grammar and stuff
only english, learning japanese
Definitely. There's a lot of material online for those languages. Maybe try downloading an app like duolingo and giving them a try there?
Weeb
Is it legal to make a petition to call the noises they make in south america "mexican" or "american spanish"? It gets really annoying to be mistaken for a fucking peanut when you say you speak spanish.
Also, I have been looking to learn esperanto for a while now, where would you recommend to learn it?
0. Fuck speaking with anyone.
english and a bit of irish
Lol. There's a lot of varieties of American Spanish, but they differ a bit from the Spanish Spanish.
Yeah, I love Esperanto, it's really easy and fun. It's like putting a puzzle together. It also helps understand how grammar works for people that may have trouble with it
Does asl count? If so 2, that and English
faggot it's a language?
Spanish speakers.
How do you say.
Your sister is fucking your friend.
In spanish
Tu hermana se folla a tu amigo/amiga, depending on the friends gender
English, mathematics, logic sequences, coding, cyphers
What am I doing with my life?
tu hermana esta follando a tu amigo? I can only speak a little spanish
I learned german, because it has 100 mio speakers, but also the german literature in philosophy and science is fantastic. Marx, Kant, Nietsche, Freud, Goethe
Tbh coding is a language. Cyphers are just languages in different codes (linguistic term). And I guess you can say that mathematics is the language of the universe?
Technically not incorrect, but
100% of the time, it means this
Se está follando* or está follando con
I would rather say that mathematics is the language we created to describe the universe, but yeah
Dutch fluent.
English reasonably average
French, mort
German, sieg heil.
Spanish, puta locura
Yeah, that's a better way to put it
English, French (native language), and a tad (really a tad) of German
I see.
Whoms't've the fuck uses tilde over the internet?
French and english. Nothing amazing.
Only English. The only language you need.
one, dos, trois
burger trifecta
It literally takes one keystroke.
Logic sequences are just math without constants though.
English, Afrikaans (extends to sort of understanding some German and Dutch), Arabic (speak, translate, write), some Xhosa.
Ah I'd love to givd xhosa a try. Got any online resources?
You seem to be a well educated sand nigger.
Congratulations.
Nah dude thats shits hard af, just always had a Xhosa maid growing up, but mad lazy to learn it properly. Just here and there hear like one word when people are talking and can guess what they're saying
母国語は何ですか?
Just to let people know, Mediterranean languages are rather similar, and native speakers of one Mediterranean language are known to be able to moderately hold written conversations with speakers of other Mediterranean languages
All of them, I have google.
Also forgot to mention try watching soap operas like Muvhango (It has subtitles)
Ancient Greek and Roman studies and ancient history and classics?
English native language
remember bits and pieces of Spanish from high school
took Russian in college that I've forgotten
currently studying Portuguese, know it at a beginner/intermediate level
