Could Ronda Rousey take on Anderson Silva? Both in their primes.
I'm doing a thesis on the strength between men vs women. And how we perceive men as being naturally superior to women physically. And with modern feminism women want to be seen as equal with everything. So we have, for example, characters like Captain Marvel that portray a strong, independent, powerful woman.
Ronda Rousey is arguably seen as the greatest female athlete in history. For not only her dominance in MMA, but in other markets such as WWE. But strictly for arguments sake that compares actual physical skill (as pro wrestling is more of an athletic performance than an athletic competition) we will use only her accomplishments in MMA, including her introduction into the UFC Hall of Fame.
Pinning her up against Anderson Silva, who is again arguably the greatest male MMA fighter in history, a 2,457 days title reign to his name.
Two dominant champions. How would they fare in the ring together? Who would win? Would Anderson Silva, being a man, have the natural advantage over her, or could Ronda, through skill and training, be able to compete against him?
in no way shape or form can the top female defeat the top male in anything where, at the core, strength is required to be successful.

no,ronda rousey is a retard and only popular because of feminist morons
she's the hillary clinton of the mma

Never, a well trained woman that works out everyday is barely strong enough to keep up with a average male who does not.

This. Remember when one of the williams sisters (i dont remember who, just google it if you care) said they could take on any man in the top 100 (?) in tennis and win... then she lost. good times.
Cooper Allen
ROFL what the fuck? Of course she fucking can't
Alexander Richardson
Silva would stay out of her range with kicks before nailing her with either a knee or a push kick when she got close enough to shoot for a takedown.
Andrew Sullivan
Not even close. Anderson Silva in his prime was unbelievable. Almost literally untouchable. He'd drop his guard to taunt guys and they still couldn't land a strike. Combine that with the extra size, strength, cardiovascular capacity, etc...

The man will always have the benefit of a lifetime of testosterone influencing muscle growth and density.
There is no competition. It isn't a sexist opinion it is just scientific fact.

>And how we perceive men as being naturally superior to women physically I wonder if physiology is also dog whistling to the patriarchy. Who the fuck doesn't perceive men to be naturally superior to women physically? It sucks when you have morons who conflate moral equality with physical equality, but this one isn't up for discussion. Women will lose 10 times out of 10. Naturally that doesn't mean that women can't beat the fuck out of men who don't train or are complete trainwrecks, but top vs top, there is no competition.

Rhonda couldn't beat that horse face bitch in her prime how would she compete with Silva?
Mason Roberts
Rousey would absolutely beat Silva. No contest. If I were Silva I would stick to fighting in the ring and leave the cooking to a woman.

>XD the post So damanged, such joker. Now fucking leave.

That’s not even a good comparison on any level they’re in different weight classes

RR was a one trick pony. She rolled around until she could get the armbar. The moment someone could keep the distance and punch/kick her in the face, she fell apart.
Juan Young
Wasnt he like in the 200s too?
Juan Jones
OP here. you guys tell me one thing, my irl friends tell me something else. and i'm just fucking confused.
He was in the 200s or 300s iirc, and way out of his prime.
Apparently he was just taking it easy during the match. I think the williams sisters' coach said that the guy was barely trying and it was never competitive.

Here is my basic breakdown.
The two attributes in a fight are skill and effective size.
Skill in fighting is composed of three major factors: wrestling, striking, and grappling/submissions. Each has a number of styles (e.g. freestyle wresting, Sambo, chain wrestling, boxing, muay thai, kickboxing, karate, BJJ). Wrestling is primarily about who gets to be where and where the fight takes place. Striking and grappling are self explanatory.
Effective size refers to how big you are and how much of that size is in lean mass. 260lbs of brock lesnar beats your fat fuck uncle 10/10 times, basically.
Women are at a massive disadvantage in size. Even within the same weight class men are significantly leaner, stronger, and faster.
Therefore the woman has to make up the gap with skill. This is a lot easier said than done, particularly in MMA because there are so many more factors. If a significantly more skilled woman takes on a same weight class man in something like BJJ she has a decent chance at a win. In wrestling, probably not because wrestling is more physically demanding. In striking, again unlikely because she cant take or deal as hard of a hit.
Basically, possible? Technically if she is waaaaaay more skilled and theyre in the same weight class. Realistically? Fuck no.
