why go to the mall, when you can shop and sit on your ass at home?
Sex
>overpriced
>spend 30 minutes to find your size
>a different smell every 10 feet
>nigglets running around
>faggots flying drones around
>chinks and pajeets selling phone cases
Has anyone gone to a mall since the 1990s?
This
So your problem isn't the mall, it's multiculturalism?
niggers
>Tape World

first world problems
It's not really a problem. Malls sucked. Always full of damned teenagers.
OP what year is that from?
niggers
But where will Roy Moore go to lurk on kids?
and pedos
Don't ask a question you don't want to know the answer to.

Nice tripperdubdubs
Also companies like Sears always expect to do better than last year each year and expect constant growth and run their business like it.
Not to mention, it's all part of Capitalism baby.
Walmart, Amazon, and rampant widespread social anxiety are gangbanging them
In short? Cost of real estate. It's gone up to the point where if your business in the mall isn't turning over product fast enough, you can't make your rent so then one by one the malls tenants leave.
Real Estate speculators did this.
This.
They're neither convenient or cost effective anymore. Malls really only thrived by being a one stop location for multiple items. Window shopping died when you could view new merchandising online, the cash they were making was mostly from impulse buying.
It's a mix of new ways to sell things (internet and specialty stores), a lot of government incentives to mall construction which flodded the market in the past, increased real estate costs, the decrease in the use of cars and the revival of the downtown as a place for the middle class to live
Fuck the 90s.
As a social space? Because social spaces in general are dying.
Everything is online now.
Thats why subcultures don't exist outside the net anymore.
niggers
Global warming
This.
Also malls and anchor series have outer much handed their clients overt to Amazon. I go to buy a new dress shirt, I got tired of being told, no my size isn't in stock, but for a small fee they can ship my size to my home. Frak that. I can spend less and not have to deal with that jackhole that can't be bothered to act like they care, because their corporate overlords don't want to post them enough to care.
Tinder you can find anything online no need for malls
Amazon and loitering shitskins.

Internet / e-commerce.
Also, malls are soft targets. Not a great place to be.
people have less sex in industrialized countries,
because of the well spring of instant entertainment
FEMINIST guys went to the mall to pickup chicks. Now even if we look at a girl its voyuer rape. Hell men save money not going there for overpriced everything. Don't believe me? Watch Brie Larson destroy the marvel movies. LGBT and feminist groups got involved with comics sales dropped. Even the Cw batwoman is out to destroy sales. I'm better than Batman. And I'll do it by stealing his symbol, toys, his name. Basically no original ideas just take the old and Gay it up. Guys don't need malls to buy their stuff.
Aside from online shopping being a more popular method, the other issue is that you can socialize and interact with friends over the phone nowadays. Plus, main hangouts are different too.
>you will never be a teenager in the 80s/90s, hanging out at the mall after school, relaxing and having fun with girls, skating, going to arcades with your friends
>you will never have your first teenage relationship with a girl who hasn't been absolutely ruined into a dramatically unhappy, depressed narcissist by social media and online dating
I was born, literally, at the wrong time. Literally any time earlier would've been better. Pre-internet, people weren't stuck on their phones 24/7 for that little bump of dopamine when someone likes their post, teenagers didn't spend their entire waking lives playing video games (as I did).
No matter how hard I try, the future only looks worse.
I know the feel, man. The future is bleak. I can only hope that the apocalypse I've been yearning for finally happens.
This
Dude..Amazon has same day delivery in some areas. I'll got to a mall when I'm retired and need somewhere to power walk at 6am
The internet has created generations of socially inept humans. It will be the downfall of humanity.
The mall near me just banned anyone under the age of 18 from being on the premises without an adult at least 21 years of age. Too many minority hooligans acting like fools unsupervised hanging out through the malls with nothing better to do.
Amazon and online shopping. That said I don't like buying clothes unless I can feel that they're well made so to the mall I go.
what mall has drones flying around inside it?
I feel the same, user. In fact, if you've noticed, Big Tech wants us to be lazy. They want a future where people receive every basic necessity from their couch.
You need food? Use ubereats. You're bored? Watch an entire show in one day on Netflix. You need toilet paper, clothes, books, etc? Use Amazon. People's asses will be glued to the couch 24/7
Also don’t forget, they want to clean my shoes with some ino damn cleaner shit.
You could be the problem...
because americans are to poor to buy stuff there
maybe trump's next business could be building a mall,a bigly yuge mall
Yes..I’m glad you can’t understand.
or wait,i got it
instead of building a wall,he can build a mall on the southern border instead.that way them beaners will be to busy at the mall to come to america
>multiculturalism
I want to show it the mercy it would show me with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch.
Trump, Am I right? Stop being childish.
in grim future mankind all live in malls
Not him but i fucking entered a mall maybe a week ago and there was this fucking kid flying his goddamn drone around
only poor people go to mallls.
Correct in one reply. Mostly.
>malls peaked in the 80s
>place to go be social
>buy slightly overpriced things
>but it was convenient
>they generally looked nice
>and you can eat a fucking pretzel
>then big box stores happened in the late 80s into the 90s
>target
>walmart
>costco
>home depot
>they reduced overhead and sold most things
>the higher-than-normal prices at malls started to look really high
>and they took time-- they are people traps, to get you to buy more
>compare that to a quick run to the big box
>malls started to die
>then amazon hit its retail stride in the late 00s
>sold everything
>delivered in 2 days
>at an even lower price
>hurt the big boxes bad
>finished off the malls
LACK OF
ANDREW YANG
>be me about 10
>have a bomb ass mall only 10 mins away from me, great hangout spot too
>dream of working there when I'm a teenager
>ffw to about 13
>some dipshit bought out the whole thing
>starts up with the white guilt and tries to bring in more niggers
>put on free shows for their "music" and giving out free shit
>place gets overrun by all sorts of minorities
>whites gtfo because it gets too crowded and loud
>none of the nigs and spics spend any money there
>ffw to when I'm about 18
>whole place is a ghost town with only 3 shoe stores and a couple of money laundering schemes
>not even blacks go in there anymore because no more free shit
People who buy out malls bring in too many minorities who suck out any chill atmosphere and get rid of people who have money to spend.
millenials hate malls because they smell like boomers
just rebuild the malls and the millenials will come
thank god I grew up as internet dating got popular instead of after

In reality, no one actually enjoyed going to the mall they just had too. Now that Amazon exists, we can all stop pretending.
people hook up at the mall? I never see that happen ever. Like every once in a while groups of teen girls and teen boys gawk and giggle at each other at the food court but that's about it.

middle school dance recitals
i dont go to malls because they don't offer free samples anymore
Oh hey look someone who lives on youtube all day. How's thequartering doing?
The real racist here
Not to mention security targets certain people and follow them around. I went there by myself, a 30 something male, and had 2 security guards follow me in and out of stores.
I remember reading Gibson's Neuromancer decades ago. One passing description of his scene was "the dead malls since everyone shops in cyberspace now." Guess we are here.
>Sex
True, but the mall needs to keep alive via commercial to keep the social scene going. That is not there now. People will get laid one way or another. Of all things, city parks, restaurants, coffee shops and bars are coming back hard as a social scene. You cannot get a meal on-line.
Explain furrys then.
I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a bombing at a mall on black friday or some shit.
>The internet has created generations of socially inept humans. It will be the downfall of humanity.
I consider it a good culling. A group that is social and procreates always replaces "enlightened" types that cannot thrive for sake of diversity.
found the pedo stalking children at the city parks
This is how the Jews win.
This. I unironically think that video games ruined my life. I was introduced to them way too young and never learned how to socialize properly.
The future only continues to prove that Ted Kaczynski was right.
Just like Wall-e
Haha made me chuckle. western youth, american in particular, are tottaly oblivious of the ways of the world... They don't have a sense of heritage and have lost their way
>don't need to go outside ever again
I don’t see it’s dying anytime soon at least not in this decade. And we got two malls next to each other. Weekdays sure it’s slow just like anywhere eles but they make money on weekends. The small stalls that are slow closes so next ones open up.
Malls all across the country have been failing for over a decade
>ready to check out?
>ok, what's your phone number?
>address?
>date of birth?
>mother's maiden name?
>social security number?
>did you happen to bring your birth certificate...?
>that's okay, we can wait while you go and grab it from home.
errr ...this is just half the story
Not sure how old you guys are but the mall wasn't just about buying shit. It was basically the social center for many people and especially young people. It was a "Third Place"
en.wikipedia.org
Yes online shopping is killing brick and mortar stores but online/social media/smartphones is taking over as the new "Third Place". It's was a socialization spot before smartphones.
In addition, property values has skyrocketed. These malls were usually build on inexpensive land all the way to the 90s. Of course urban sprawl caught up and the land and property tax got more expensive which is fine because they could afford it...until it started to lose money to online stores and it's Third place status. Now they're getting priced out of their own real estate because they didn't adapt at a fast enough pace.
people stopped trying to have sex
Every time I go to a mall and see something I kind of want. I can Google it and usually find it anywhere from $2-$10 cheaper. Malls just don't have value.
I actually think you nailed it with the urban sprawl issue. Malls are much more successful in Japan where urban sprawl is limited and cities are designed around walkability. Back in the 80's and 90's before rampant suburbanism took over it was possible to walk or ride a bike to the mall, now the urban sprawl and poor use of mixed zoning means you almost always have to take a long drive to get to the mall.
Malls by me are not dying but I live in an affluent area.
Exactly. When mass murderers, serial killers, and terrorists' prophecies and hypotheses start becoming truth, I feel it all has to stop and go in a different direction.
Very simple.
>Economics
1: The aspirational/middle class has shrunk to the point of irrelevance. Poor people don't shop at malls and rich people don't shop at malls. The vast majority of people live paycheck to paycheck
2: Inflation of cost due to recessive value of currency. The dollar is worthless. The cost of a new home is around 100-200k on the low-end (in America) and the minimum wage averages to about 8 bucks across all 50 states. The minimum wage 70 years ago was $1.75 and houses cost between 15-40k on the low end. The cost of goods hasn't kept up with the value of the currency. Malls are overpriced at the best of times, this just makes matters worse.
>gayness
1: Amazon and Steam
The only time I ever went to the mall growing up was to go to the video game store. I remember preordering Pokemon Yellow and waiting 3-4 months for it to actually come out, and I didn't even get my shirt because some faggot probably stole it. I'd check every week or so. Now I just download "Games as a Service" from steam and buy all my shit wholesale or off amazon.

Even for food.
I worked at the mall a few times. Had a few sexs ;)
Hot Dog on a Stick! They usually had cute girls working there and the lemonade and fries were bomb.
