I found out that my gf was arrested twice in two months back in 2017. Once for public intoxication and then 2 months later for assault with injury. In 2018 when we started dating I’ve witnessed/dealt with the same type of behavior. She swears on her life that the previous arrests were all a big misunderstanding and charges were dismissed. What are the chances that any of that is true and why should I believe any of what she says?

My parents now know and are super pissed given what she did to me...both incidents with me the cops had to get involved and she was wasted both times despite trying to get her to call it a night and go home. I certainly have done these things but her excuses aren’t adding up. She finally is seeing a therapist and promising not to have more than two drinks. Also she seems to not understand how her behavior with me makes it hard to believe that she didn’t do anything to get arrested. The incidents in the past occurred almost exactly 1 year apart.

It’s just now causing me a lot of stress between my family and friends thinking she’s a total whacko.
