I've never cared much for stealth. I realize if you're going for stealth those RV's are seriously stupid. But for me? It's more about comfort. I could live comfortably in one of those for the rest of my days. I just lack the income to buy one... that's why I'm not living in one right now. I was warned that if I was found camping without a permit again, I would be fined $300 or something fucking stupid. When I was younger my parents always wanted to travel in a RV. Every campground we went to had a weekly price. I don't think we ever stayed anywhere for free. You can't get away from bills unless you're dead.

Probably the only one in this thread who's spent time in an RV considering this poster is the only one to mention the hookups, which aren't free in most cases.

Also I would like to point out that besides the initial cost there's the mantainence. As long as it looks good on the outside a house can fall into total disrepair if you hide the fact. If an RV breaks down on the side of the road you have to get it repaired, otherwise if you get towed to a lot your "rent" is going to be $100+ a day.

I think a van like this is the best, most practical idea.

Stealthy, will require some fabrication skills but can be home and simple. All you need is a bed, a fridge and a battery to charge your phone. Solar panels are a nice touch. You could heat up water and just shower outside at a spot you know is private. It helps to live somewhere where it is warm year round.

At least that is what I would do. Probably would only cost about 20-25k total. Your only bills would be gas, the insurance and registration fees on the vehicle plus some routine maintenance, phone, food for yourself and the rest for entertainment. Be a good, honest person, stay out of trouble and hopefully nobody tries to steal or fuck with you. Keep a gun.

Other than that, it's a decent option in life compared to being homeless.
