To be honest OP, I don't think you tried hard at all to lose weight. I've managed to lose 45 pounds in almost 6 months. It's really simple, cut out the majority of carbs, no soda, no fast food, and eat lots of fucking salad with light balsamic vinegar.

I'm down from 255 to 200 over five months. I stopped snacking at my desk, stopped eating snacks at night, etc. I might try to lose more, but honestly, I'm pretty happy with 200. (Went from size 44 pants to 36.)
The only down side is that my wife is a bit resentful, but until she quits the extra slices of cake and drops the soda, she's not going to make any changes.
Try this - instead of always telling yourself what you can and can't eat, think of it as a foregone conclusion. It's not, "I can't eat these snacks," but "I'm not a person who snacks alone."

You could start by not eating a person each year.
Only eat when you're hungry, don't eat a ton, and eat something healthy. Avoid carbs as much as possible (bread), along with sugars, processed oils and fats. Exercise is important, but your diet is #1, you burn over 800 calories sleeping at night! Learn how to cook for yourself if you don't. Stir fry, curry, soups and stews, the list is endless how you can prepare your foods healthily. I personally don't eat a lot of red meat or cheese, but if you still eat them I'd keep them to a minimum if possible. Hope it helps!

good way to get heart disease.
just stick to lean proteins, a shit ton of veggies (restrict potatoes and corn because they're basically the junk food of vegetables), and some grains for carbs (in moderation as well because these can cause you to stall in your weight loss.)
your plate should be at least half veggies. and no cheating and slathering them in butter or cheese. use lemon juice, vinegars and/or spices for seasoning instead of calorie laden shit like ketchup, gravy, bbq sauce etc. eat a fuckton of salads with spinach, kale or other nutrient dense greens.
seriously restrict if not completely cut out eating any foods with a shelf life of more than 7 days. buying meat and produce when they're on sale and freezing them is a great way to save money because it can get expensive fast eating only "real" food. the only way to sustain this diet is by food prepping, so that on your "lazy" days you can still grab healthy meals.
use an app like MyFitnessPal to monitor your calories. log every bite of everything you eat. you are probably eating more calories a day than you think. if you are mobile, try to get at least 5,000 steps in a day, ideally working your way up to 10,000/day. you can get a pedometer at the dollar store to count your steps for you.

You need protein, fats/carbs and the energy that comes from them to live, not just salad. I would recommend the keto diet, I dropped a shit load of weight very quickly(I have a physically active job tho) and easily. You’ll eat meat, butter, eggs, veggies, fucking shitloads of the miracle shrinking food that is baby spinach(it’s lettuce but less shit) while cutting carbs, no chips, no rice, no bread.
It’s tough, esp the first week as your body adapts to no carbs and to drawing on fat for energy, but after that it’s extremely easy imo. You’ll feel full because of how rich the food you’re eating is, and if you have a mere modicum of cooking skill, you can make food that is interesting and/or replicated the garbage food you love.
If you’re smart, you can still budget in fast food (throw away burger buns, use lettuce for quarter pounders) or even chocolate ( two KitKat fingers is 14 carbs out of your 30 for the day).
Keep track of all your macronutrients using your phone(KetoDiet is what I used) and maybe buy a Fitbit to encourage yourself to move more.
make sure you get at least 12g of protein too, or else you will be starving in half an hour. trust me on this.

Do not go on a stupid low calorie diet or you'll have no energy to do anything. Stick to 3 meals at 600 calories each and exercise before you eat on every occasion and Never after. Drink only water. You could also try keto diet.
1k Calories a day. Chicken breast and salads. Other low fat foods to. Walk briskly 15 minutes a day and drink a lot of water. Easy.
I agree on the heart disease part, Keri diets encourage so much more fat than you actually need, just need to figure out what satiates you.

lmao same. My GF and I got together when we were 19 and 21 respectively. She weighed maybe 110 and I weighed 160. Over the course of a few years I shot up to 215 and her about 170. she's been "trying" to lose weight for months and made no progress. I cut my caloric intake to under 1800 a day and I lost 15 pounds in a month. she was so pissed but the bitch has no self control so she won't ever lose weight.

Fruit is high in carbs in general, so you’ll want to avoid eating too much, only berries and the like. Milk has a similar issue, a little is fine.
